So, CTK, off topic, but your phrase "My highest rated large..." has me wondering about your other highest ratings. I may have missed your highest rated ~8" folder. And why. My Spyderco PM2 carries BBB's heat treated 15V blade, polished and at 13 dps, and I can't seem to be able to get beyond getting backups for these PMs in this steel and HT.

I'm gonna update my ratings database sometime soon, to answer just these sorts of questions. And I need to go back and "rate" a lot of my earlier knives, from before I started doing ratings.
But I would guess the top scoring on the utility/usefulness side of things, once I go back and score everything, is probably the Spyderco Endela, which I think is my most used/carried knife of everything I own. The Benchmade 940 is definitely up there, too...my review is queued up for that one and is VERY positive. The two others that come to mind at the top of the pack are the Stretch 2 in K390 and the TRM Atom (though that one's a bit over 8"). Most a bit more boring than the PM2, but I like the way all of em work as cutting tools.
I've got a PM2 review coming up at some point, and my BBB 15V PM2 is my favorite iteration of that model for sure. It'll be very well-reviewed. Though personally, I like the Stretch 2 a little bit better in most of the ways I like the PM2. Gonna argue my case on that one coming up. ;)

@@CTKKnives My Stretch 2 in K390 is my EDC. If I could, I would love BBB's 15V on the Stretch, because it is the knife that is just right for my hand and preferences.

There are tons of Maxace models with .16" stock that get down to sub-10 thou bte. My kw1 is vanadis 10, 65.5 HRC and .008" BTE for most of the length of the blade. Kw2 is a little thicker, at .015".
Do you have a 24? I'll send you mine if you don't, and want to check it out.

That's interesting. Now that I think about it, the slicier of my Farid K2s probably gets pretty thin as well. No reason more aggressive grinds like that should be impossible, and no good reason they shouldn't be possible on a production scale. Per your comment about Maxace, it's a figure-outable problem. Curious if in a few years we start to see more of the stuff in high-end, super-slicey customs (like Triiaxis hard-milling or SPK's super thin BTE grinds) trickle down into high end production.
I'll get an XM-24 at some point. I'm trying not to rely on loaners, as my actual SHOOTING schedule isn't nearly as consistent as my posting schedule makes it look. (I'm basically shooting 5-10 videos on a weekend 1-2x per month, then scheduling everything) And I don't want to hold onto things for too long. Been keeping my eyes out on the secondary for one I can buy at a reasonable price and then later sell without taking a bath.
