The majority of these were widely available on eBay back in the early 2000s i remember collecting the low end balisongs like jaguars and bear and co for under $30. Benchmades were sold for about 150-200 new and used ones would go from $75-$200. I was just outta high school a kid working a part time job so I never wanted to spend more then $50 on a balisong. Most of my small paycheck went to the movies on the weekend and dining the high school sweetheart. Wish I picked up a few of these. Always wanted the 49 after seeing the movie face off. Also fact fact u could buy almost any model back in 2000-2003 on Asian knives.com and knifezilla I remember seeing them very cheap not even sure if those knife sites still exist

I've considered collecting the other gold class balis. The 46DM is by far and away the hardest one to acquire. I'd need the 51-91, 51-121, 51-161, 32-81 and 42-101.
Had a question for you. I just acquired a model 62, I noticed that the D2 stamp isn't on the tang, its' on the flat part of the blade. I wasn't aware that benchmade had different stamp locations. It says" D2 Benchmade USA benchmade.com/pat" have you seen this style of marking before? is it common?
I'm not too familiar with the 6X as I don't own one, but the stamp does appear to be creeping onto the grind more and more. Some Benchmade models put the stamp in unusual places, like the two 41s I have.

You see I agree with flipping your Balis but these are Insaley Collectible old benchmades. when you have a hobby as knives you need your collectors items and your beaters. I bet he does flip but standered Production flippers that you can buy off the shelves anywhere online
