- It is time to kick off the 35th year anniversary of Rick Hinderer Knives! We are very excited to announce the release of Project X, a long awaited project that has been in the works for quite some time. It will be one of the many cool projects released this year to celebrate the 35 years of Rick Hinderer Knives!

I know this is an old video but i just ordered one yesterday, please keep the textured lock side it looks awesome, igot my first Hinderer in November and now I'm on my 4th RHK and I'm hooked, thanks for making awesome knives Rick 👍⚔️

Looks like a great knife. Like every other Hinderer Knife I look forward to it never being available and out of stock at every major web retailer.
And if by some miracle you do get one, waiting for years to get that Blue/Black scale to "make it your own".
@@peteb8885 DLT seems to have a lot of RHK scales available tho. Just got mine a Warthog G10.
@@kevinmosto Been on the hunt for a 3.0" Blue / Black scale for well over a year. Even called Hinderer to ask when they might be available. They told me to "keep checking the website". They seem to be more interested in producing and selling full Titanium replacement scales @ $200-$250 rather than G10 scales at $65. I wonder why...
@@peteb8885 Could it be because the Ti one has a lot more margins? lol - Regardlessly, I just checked DLT and I agree that specific colorway you are looking for is not in stock. Might be easier to settle on a different color Micarta but I guess in order to make it "yours" it has to be exactly how you want it.

Very cool design, practical and ergonomic, I prefer the xm18 for beauty but the project X seems a very close second place.

Love the texturing and higher blade grind. Seems like a great “just right” size between both my XM’s. Have always liked the idea of the FullTrack and the onboard tool. This design is a lot more up my alley. Lucky enough to be on the site at the right time and persistent enough to grab one :)

I just bought my first XM24 Bowie from you which is the most incredible knife I now own. The tuning out of the box was 100% perfect. Congratulations on 35 years.
Like the blade shape and grind. Like the pivots bolts at both ends - adds a nice balance. And heck it even slices tomatoes!!! Hope they’re not going to be un-obtainium!

The website was a disaster during the release-but it works great now after the X was sold out.
Change the pointy flipper tab and you’ve got a real winner there.

Looks good! Almost like a cross between an Umnumzaan and an Xm-18 if they had a kid. The only thing I don't like is the backside hardware what looks like bolts. These are great for engines and various other non-knife real life applications like bridge supports but suck in the aesthetics department IMO. This is why never bought some of the ZT knives and collaborations because of the bold hardware. To me, brings down the value of the knife especially when so many other cool ways to do it and dress up hardware. The jimping looks better than the xm-18 and like the fact of only tip up carry and no thumb stud clean design. Only thing is though how can it be as strong as an Xm-18 without those double-stud lock pin style lockup?
Interested to know how new owners like them.

Well that was a sh@# show of a drop. Consistent and constant site crashes, knives showing in stock when they weren't causing lost time in efforting a different variant. Adding to cart to be told zero were available...then delays in removing from cart...not sure how many dropped but kudos to those who somehow were able to land 1. Looks like a cool knife.
This happens so much now with any maker who has even the slightest amount of hype behind their designs in good part because of scalper @ssholes who buy them up to flip for profit on the secondary market. Happens in most other collecting hobbies too. I get that what they're doing isn't illegal and "ThAt'S jUsT CaPiTaLiSm" but I don't care, I still think scalpers suck and are a cancer on hobbies.

Finally, a knife maker releases something actually new this year and not some recycled BS. Thanks Rick. Also I've been rocking an Emmett for a month now and it's amazing.

I hope this new knife doesn't take to much time away from making the Xm-18. As an international buyer i have to buy my Hinderers new,since the secondary market is not open to me....shipping outside the Us is apparently to hard.

Nice knife Rick like always. First hinderer i actually don’t want though. The handle screws are an eye soar they are too big and the textured back doesn’t flow with the knife.

I just bought your Wharncliffe 3.5" fixed blade. I've had much sharper letter openers, not joking. I do not own a knife sharpening system. Do you have any recommendations as to where to have the edge professionally sharpened?

Hey Rick, I was actually out in this last winter storm doing ice and snow removal. So i missed the drop because I was working. I did have my xm-18 in my pocket as usual. But i want a project x to carry at work too. When will the next restock be?
There will be another one fairly soon. It will be more of the Working Finish portion of the build.
