Immediately after an ortho appointment, a bracket of mine that was newly placed on broke off. I didn't even do anything. I the girl working on me was so pissed off and refused to believe I didn't do anything. This has made me feel validated for once
So, when my orthodontist put on my bottom brackets, I went home, and about two hours later I felt a click in my mouth and the bracket had fell off. I told my mom and she said she could call in the morning. I wake up the next day, and two more brackets have fallen off. At this point I’m a bit freaked out, but I stay quiet because I’m worried my mom will be disappointed that I’m knocked off so many brackets. Finally, I’m eating lunch, Mac and Cheese (reasonably soft food) and my ENTIRE ROW of bottom brackets freaking falls off and the wire is hanging out of my mouth attached by one single bracket. Turns out it was a bonding issue, my teeth were too smooth and they were using the wrong glue. I’ve never had a bracket fall off other than that day.

maybe the orthodontist pulled too hard on it earlier. I fell on my face and the orthodontist had a hard time taking the wires out since one of my brackets was slightly damaged and she pulled on it a lot. then I bit into something soft and since it already got pulled a lot back then it came off :(

ONLY 1 (yes, only one) bracket fell off during my THREE YEARS journey of wearing braces. It fell of on my 23RD MONTH 😉 TIP: Don't exert 'too much' force when chewing or biting or eating something, regardless if the food's soft or hard to eat. If you feel like your tooth moved or was pushed even 'slightly' while biting something, LET THAT FOOD GO, or you'll risk your bracket to fall off 😉
I'm a dental assistant for a orthodontic office. For me, it's no big deal if a patient brake their brackets off. It's actually a very easy and fast process to fix. But It's their choice whether they want to always visit us to get it back on and it's their choice if they want to prolong their treatment. It's our job to be there to attend our patients no matter what. I'm sorry if you guys experienced assistants that are moody. Anyways, good luck on your journey with braces guys!

EXACTLY!!! My point be proven! My orthodontist didn’t dry off any of my teeth and then didn’t use the things that widen our lips! So of course my teeth had saliva on them and when BOTH of my front brackets broke off only 1 HOUR later after getting my braces, there wasn’t a single bit of glue on my teeth😭

One time I broke a bracket whale eating a melty chocolate bar. The orthodontist told me he could tell it wasn't my fault. After putting a new one on HE then accidentally broke it off Again, and had to put a 3rd one on.😂

Both my bottom back brackets broke off in the same week, one from a muffin, a MUFFIN, and the other when I was removing the wax on it, it hurt a lot so I kept putting wax ever since I got then on But I'm so happy that I'm not the only person who's brackets always somehow falls off the first few weeks, first off, when its a tight new wire my teeth hurt for like 2 weeks, and second my teeth are kinda weak so when it comes to like a hard food weeks after my appointment I eat it slowly and yet, my brackets somehow fall/break off And the feeling of "I didn't do it" when you go back to get new ones or the next appointment to explain especially when your parent forgets to call them about it after you told them so many times about your brackets.
My orthodontist put something on one of my molars, I think he called it a turbo, because my top and bottom teeth kept touching. That is likely what caused my brackets to fall off

I broke like 8 brackets when i had braces and they all took off the adhesive with them. Now im pissed that the orthodontists keeped reprimanding me for eating food i wasn't supposed to even though i wasn't.

Or, if you're my orthodontist, you put the bracket on way too high on my tooth that I physically cannot close my mouth all the way without putting pressure on it and breaking it off. The moment they placed the fateful bracket that high, I knew it would be off within a few days. 2 days later I wake up in the morning to find my bracket had popped off because I clenched my teeth during the night and the bracket was in the way so it had to go. It's not the only time my teeth clenching uncontrollably during my sleep has broken a bracket off but it's the one I knew was gonna happen

I looked in the mirror and one of my brackets had broken off. I should be seeing my orthodontist tomorrow to fix it though.

Bro even my permanent retainers break off. Every time a bracket had broken off there was no glue. And they kept blaming me for it. Like no you just can’t glue anything on apparently. And it doesn’t help that they never made me a new retainer when they glued them back on and can’t even wear them because the glue is a different shape.
My dentist put a bracket in my tooth to pull it forward( all my other teeth already had them for about a year) and when he put the wire in it hurt instantly. As soon as I pull into my drive way by bracket pops off glue and all and my dingiest is over and hour away
My bracket broke twice on the same tooth because the glue wasn’t enough but third time he put enough glue so that my tooth can shift into the right place cause there wasn’t enough space for the bracket to be placed in so yeah it wasn’t my fault

And on 3rd day bracket on my 7th teeth broke BY JUST SOME SOFT SAUSAGE AND PORRIDGE, and then my orthodontist decided to just keep it like that (just made the wire shorter) bc he said that it would just continue to fall out. Yesterday wire came out of another 7th teeth now in up. I saw that people can fix it by themselves so I did. And today another bracket on another side in down AGAIN ON 7TH TEETH broke:_) I WAS SLEEPING and somehow strongly closed my teeth. Though nothing happened and continued to sleep. Woke up and was like: "oh. Something moves. Off. That's a bracket:_)" But my orthodontist will be in clinic only 2 days later😓
The ONLY time I broke a bracket was bc I accidentally ran face first into a pole.... while wearing a chicken costume. It was low visibility and I didn’t see the light post. 😢
I don't want to blame my dentist. But each time they broke off and one time it was just after so I went back and got seen by a different dentist and got the bigger one for biting down and other one came of tho still. then after a couple times I got a new dentist, I don't know why and the bracket hadn't broken off and it's been months now. So I don't know if it was a bonding issue, but I haven't changed anything else about my eating🤷

This happened to me once. Turns out they need to use the amount of glue to cover my whole tooth to make three of my brackets stay.

I've had them for 6 months and never broke a bracket... Even ate peanuts and other stuff... You just need to be careful when chewing.

just broke a bracket because i was nit thinking and i bit down on a jolly rancher. i shouldn’t have been eating a jolly rancher in the first place but i was not thinking about my braces at all 😭
but there is little to no glue on my tooth loll
It's been 7 months since my last adjustment and never broke any bracket, but I'm scared to go back thinking that my dentist would scold me 😢

Mine just broke off this morning. After a week from my adjustment. No glue on the tooth. And its the same one all the time.

i got my lower jaw done recently... I've broken 4 brackets.. all while I was sleeping
Bro even my permanent retainers break off. Every time a bracket had broken off there was no glue. And they kept blaming me for it. Like no you just can’t glue anything on apparently. And it doesn’t help that they never made me a new retainer when they glued them back on and can’t even wear them because the glue is a different shape.

My dentist put a bracket in my tooth to pull it forward( all my other teeth already had them for about a year) and when he put the wire in it hurt instantly. As soon as I pull into my drive way by bracket pops off glue and all and my dingiest is over and hour away

My bracket broke twice on the same tooth because the glue wasn’t enough but third time he put enough glue so that my tooth can shift into the right place cause there wasn’t enough space for the bracket to be placed in so yeah it wasn’t my fault
5 of my brackets broke off the same day I got them put on (not even an hour after having them) 😅 I hadn't even drank any water or touched them at all, I just talked and they snapped.
I smiled so much that my bracket broke off. Like my cheek rubbed against the bracket so it broke. Would it be my fault?

What if there’s only like a bit of glue
I have Invisalign and one of my attachments broke off from me flossing. But it was one of my first attachments.
Just had a back bracket come off my crown with the entire piece of glue on it🤦♀️not even gonna clean it, I’ll just bring it to my next appointment like that
This happened to me right when I got my braces on so basically the new girl was putting on my braces and she didn’t put on enough or strong enough glue so the bracket broke 2 times and I was really mad cus in the same day I had to go back so many times
My bracket broke off while I was eating a pickle (not the best idea) but it flipped upside down and the glue was on the bracket, not my tooth. So… maybe not my fault? Or definitely my fault
I have braces for just a week. And on 3rd day bracket on my 7th teeth broke BY JUST SOME SOFT SAUSAGE AND PORRIDGE, and then my orthodontist decided to just keep it like that (just made the wire shorter) bc he said that it would just continue to fall out.
Yesterday wire came out of another 7th teeth now in up. I saw that people can fix it by themselves so I did.
And today another bracket on another side in down AGAIN ON 7TH TEETH broke:_) I WAS SLEEPING and somehow strongly closed my teeth. Though nothing happened and continued to sleep. Woke up and was like: "oh. Something moves. Off. That's a bracket:_)"
But my orthodontist will be in clinic only 2 days later😓

The ONLY time I broke a bracket was bc I accidentally ran face first into a pole.... while wearing a chicken costume. It was low visibility and I didn’t see the light post. 😢

I don't want to blame my dentist.
But each time they broke off and one time it was just after so I went back and got seen by a different dentist and got the bigger one for biting down and other one came of tho still.
then after a couple times I got a new dentist, I don't know why and the bracket hadn't broken off and it's been months now.
So I don't know if it was a bonding issue, but I haven't changed anything else about my eating🤷
I grind in my sleep and my bite blocks keep getting sanded so they break off very often
