Even though planes are incredible vehicles, none of them can stay in the air forever. Eventually, they reach the end of the line in terms of their usefulness, and they come in to land for the very last time. In some cases, that happens long before the planes are due to retire! Here in this video, we're going to check out the surprising stories behind some abandoned planes from all over the world.

I think in Arizona or New mexico there's an area that's used to store retired airliners like 747's and some people have converted them or parts of them into homes.

Shackleton WR963 (G-SKTN) is being restored to airworthy condition at Coventry airport. I worked on it for two years. The one mentioned at Long Marston (WR985) was still there as of 2018.
Can you really say that McMurdo is in New Zealand considering that it is actually in Antarctica ? Yeah they have layed claim to it but since the treaty was signed no one can actually claim any part of Antarctica for themselves. The station, the largest one down in Antarctica and the only settlement that could probably call itself a town as it has a bar and bowling alley. The station is fully funded and operated by the Americans and not New Zealand.
The Douglas from Lake Michigan is not coated in barnacles. Those are either Zebra or Quagga mussels which can live in fresh water

More poor research, the ex Royal New Zealand Air Force is a Bristol B170 Freighter not a a Fighter, they were retired by the R.N.Z.A.F in the late 1970s, they did service in the Vietnam war and were paint into south east Asian colours ,some were base in Singapore for a time.
The "Freighters" did a lot of work in New Zealand, where a number were preserved after their flying-hours ran out: inevitably, most got neglected and started coming apart.
Some others worked in Canada, carrying equipment to firms working in out-of-the-way places. There were landing-accidents and some of the planes were too damaged to repair and so were left to rot, out in the middle of nowhere. The last British-based "Freighter" was damaged beyond repair in a non-fatal crash in 1996: it was a former N.Z.A.F. plane and was a victim of the type's tendency to 'swing' on take-off.
@@None-zc5vg Acompany called SAFE AIR operated them from the 1950's until 1986 when the were retired. There are three preserved Freighters in the south Island , EX RNZAF at Wigram (Air Force World ) ,one at Founder's Museum exPAF/SAFE AIR it flown to the museum (eg a breach near the museum ) and the other is owned by the Marlborough Aero Club and were it has been restored to taxing condition and is display at Omaha airshows held near Blenheim.

The information is too unreliable to bother with. McMurdo is not in New Zealand and is not ours. As far as I know the association is that USA's Operation Deep-Freeze flys to Antarctica from Christchurch. Really i despair with this type of thing, and also in many items the "comments" are lazily left to Google Translate - and that is hopeless - nonsensical.
