Appreciate the drive to connect with Vietnamese communities in the U.S. :) I would love to see an interview where you ask them about their pasts, I think it would be an amazing piece of story you won't hear very often
As a native Viet speaker, I am very impressed! Thank you for involving my country's culture, food, and people in your life. Wish you the best of luck on your journey!
Your vietnamese is good! I would say it is only a bit choppy, like it could sound more natural but obviously learning any language the dialect won't come to you immediately. Keep it up!
You are an inspiration to me, thank you! I just moved to Vietnam and I am trying to learn Vietnamese. You are representing us Americans so well! God bless you :)
Thanks for checking out the channel. It's support from viewers like you that keeps me motivated to continue my quest of mastering Vietnamese. I hope you enjoy the rest of the content on the channel as well!
I love this. I don't speak vietnamese but seeing you speaking so fluently with vietnamese people is amazing! What made you decide to learn vietnamese? Also, I love the editing on your video, the transitions between scenes, soundtrack, etc. You are a pro! Keep up the good work buddy!
Thanks for watching. It's definitely a language that I never saw myself learning, but after living in Vietnam for so long, I'm very glad that I've put the time/effort in to learn it. I'm pleased to hear you enjoyed the editing, I tried some new things with this video in particular. Hope you enjoy the rest of the channel!
The temple are very pretty and it’s so cool that the Vietnamese community and The volunteer builder the temple from the round up 🍃🌸❤️🍃🍃 thank you Phúc Mập for let me know that in Orlando there is Vietnamese temple next time I’m on that way I will check it out 🌸❣️
My first visit to White Sands was when they still had a big, friendly Rottweiler named "Buddha" that came with the land they bought. After a chance long discussion with Ven. Khai Thien, I spent some time learning Vietnamese practices of Buddhism. Eventually I became a member and looked forward to Zen weekend retreats. At that time, I was very much in the minority but felt at home with the practices and delicious vegetarian foods served at lunch and dinner. My name is derived from the one given to me by Thay as every name I wanted for TH-cam was taken. My path to Vietnamese Buddhism started near Pleiku, Vietnam where I was stationed. Worst year of my life. Many years later I was invited to travel with Vietnamese friends in US to Vietnam for a visit. Everyone so friendly, including former adversaries I met. I ended up staying for awhile and married int a large, loving family. Prior to making the trip, I had taken precepts at a temple that was Americanized Zen, and practice very simple and many aspects different, like we only lit one incense when making an offering. In Vietnam, when we were at graveside, we had to light a fire to light all the incense for everyone. Usually 3 sticks are lit. I started bowing once and learned to do it 3 times with Vietnamese. I brought my wife to US after a few years and later we went to White Sands for a visit and my talk with Thay led me to join. Last time we went, a few years ago, I was in the majority and was amazed at all the changes, some good and some not so good. I noted mostly tourists who failed to follow the signs suggesting how to behave. It is a beautiful place but after that visit I have drifted away and go to a local one nearby where I live in Orlando. I can hold a basic conversation in Vietnamese but have far to go. One way I suggest to learn the language is by learning songs. Like trying to speak, when you sing songs, you will have instant friends.
Hi "Phúc Mập" (HurleyWork channel) ! I' m a 65 yrs old man, your close Fan, who' s living near Cơm tấm "3 Ghiền" restaurant, Phú Nhuận Dist. (HCMC-VN). (TRANDUC - DANTHINH)
