VR is like the Matrix; You can't tell someone what it is, they have to see it for themselves. The problem is, you can't force a headset on someone. Everyone I have showed the Quest 3 to has been blown away, and said they had no idea how good it looked (Red Matter 2, Bonelab, etc) compared to the cartoony junk Meta advertises. Personally, its very comfortable for me, I wear it for hours and forget I'm wearing it

That's exactly it. It's a tough sell considering these videos amount to basically... PS2-like graphics at best.
Being IN THERE, taking it all in, it's a completely different experience -- and unlike what most gamers have ever experienced!

@TheIzzyNobreShow having owned a psvr2, and returned a second and about to buy a third, the quest 3 comes no where close to 4k hdr 120hz, absolute joke of a comment. Where's the lighting and shading on quest? Where's the textures? The anti aliasing? Where's the graphical capability you see that you say it's like a psvr2??? 😂😂😂

If anyone has the money and tech savvy to do PCVR, its incredible. Playing the Subnautica games in VR makes flatscreen gaming seem like Atari. MSFS2020 and flying all around the world in VR is incredible. But there are some great looking native games like Red Matter 2. And you have the quest games optimizer which can boost the graphics on native games.

I love my quest 2/3, but i think most people really need that fidelity offered by the few pcvr and psvr2 exclusives to pay attention. I mean there are a bunch of other factors holding it back but if every game was gt7 or res evil 8/4 i think a lot more people would invest. Exited to see what they can pull off with the quest 3 exclusives for sure tho. Im trying to push vr to anyone and everyone that will put up with my ramblings. 😎

You might benefit from waiting a few months for the Quest 3S. It is expected to be revealed at Meta Connect this year. It will be a lite version of the Quest 3 with no mixed reality/color passthrough but will have the same processing power as the Quest 3 and be capable of running the same graphics just probably a little lower resolution displays.

It's definitely a good upgrade for the fov, lenses, form factor and pass through alone. I didn't have much time for vr so i decided to wait for the quest 4. I do have more time to get back into it now, but i feel like it'll only be worth upgrading once there are price drops. Hopefully the learning curve, efficiency, scale and other cost savings start accumulating. No point paying full price for a product that's already a 3rd of the way through it's life cycle. Q2 supply in the USA was cut short just shy of completing full 4 years in the market. It probably still has full 2 years of support ahead but won't be getting many major new games, plus performance will begin to suffer (even more)
Only after I got Q3 recently I was shocked to learn how much more cloudy are Q2 lenses and also how shockingly lower resolution are games running on it. Q3 chip is much faster and about to truly show what it really can do with games targeted for it. AC Nexus and Asgard's Wrath 2 were the pinnacle of Q2 and yet run so much better already...

    • @euteo

Yeah, no headsets with similar to Quest 3 performance or features on the horizon in the next 12 months. The Quest 3S will be basically a Quest 2 with the Quest 3 processor and color cameras. The most important feature of the Quest 3 are it's pancake lenses which make the experience way more comfortable and clear compared to the Quest's 2 fresnel lenses. Q3S will still have fresnel lenses. Just so you understand how important pancake lenses are - the use with glasses is much more easy, clarity is perfect across the whole lens - no weird artifacts. If you don't wear glasses, you can get them closer to your eyes, improving the viewing angles.

I second everything said in this video. Coming from the awesome Q2, the Q3 is fantastic. The stock headstrap is infact pooch poop (while it works, the 2 pressure points of the strap when you tighten it against the back of your head will give you motion sickness) and so bought the BoboVR headstrap and battery as well. I believe VR/MR will start taking off more than ever with the quest 4 and beyond due to the collapse of the AAA gaming industry. Gamers are hungry for a new experience but ironically reject VR the thing that will give them what they are looking for. Due to increased power and foveated rendering quest 4 will have good enough visuals (360/PS3) to attract potential buyers through 2D videos. Because people don’t understand how immersive VR truly is the poor visuals right now is the only thing they can judge a game on right now. I hope we have more developers and teams turn to VR by quest 4 generation to have consistency everyone can look forward to.

The Quest 2 is simple and fast to change batterys. Otherwise, the screen is a little bit more clear in use, the fov is a bit bigger. The changeable IDP.. I am not sure if its my eyes or something, but I do not see any real difference going from lowest to highest setting :D but if it works for some, I guess that is a good thing. Why do you think that?

I might buy Valve's new one, but I ain't buying a Quest ever. And I need these to drop to sub $200, there isn't nearly enough content to justify more unless you're really into the worst kinds of mobile game sludge.

There is actually a ton of content for the quest ecosystem plus vlave’s latest standalone headset was kinda dog water and DEFINITELY is lacking in content 🤷‍♂️

@@Theguywith2thumbs You can use valve's headset for any ecosystem, including Occulus'. besides Playstation's, which no other headset can use either and PS2VR flopped hard...
What are you literally saying? And no, the state of VR atm is terrible, this is not just my opinion, but the opinion of the gaming community in general, industry analysts, and the gaming industry itself, hence the many canceled VR incentives and projects.
I know you're just some deluded fanatic trying to convince yourself the quest was a worthwhile purchase, but come on.

@@CrystallineLore A. You need to relax because it’s not that serious lol B. If you are talking about the valve XR elite (the latest stand alone headset from valve) then yeah it was not great. That’s the one I was talking about because we were on the topic of stand alone. C. I really don’t know when I ever brought up the state of Vr as a whole but literally no one is arguing with you about that dude lol. D. All I did was make a suggestion, never said anything that would have sparked an argument so idk who you are trying to argue with but it’s not me 🤷‍♂️.

@@Theguywith2thumbs You're the only one who needs to relax, lmao. You strutted in here angrily, said objectively wrong information, showed off your ignorance, then dropped an emoji like you were a tween.
VR in a terrible place. I don't want to be, but it is. And Oculus isn't making it better and Facebook isn't many anything better, it's dying. I will wait for the new Valve headset which should be priced agressively like the Decks were.
      You do you champ.

You can get a quest 3 for like 150 dollars sometimes. Also, there's way more to VR than mobile-like games. You can even play PCVR with the Quest headsets. Wirelessly.
