    Response from Hannah @ Hart Audio Cables - "FYI, we use oxygen free copper from Mogami for all of our cables. We don't mind telling people when they ask, just haven't gotten around to putting it on the site or anything. And we actually could build you a thicker / stiffer cable if you really are interested in that. It won't be as thick as the periapt one, but we can do the stiffer style through the custom shop."

    Great comparison video. This is the only video I've seen that compares the two lol. I actually almost bought Hart cables because until you put them side by side, you can't tell from pictures that the Hart cables are so thin compared to Periapt.

    • @MisterChibs
      @MisterChibs  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you. If you look at my pinned note, Hart offers a thicker option and I have since ordered cables like this. I believe they should come this way to begin with but if you're using them mostly for portable, I can see merit to having thinner more flexible cables too. Having said that, even the thicker option is not like Periapt in this regard.
      They're both great options imo. 👍

    Ended up going with Hart Audio cables, great cables lots of customization and you can do strange configurations that are tough to find. Plus definitely good price.

    I personally decided to go with Hart Audio, as Pariapt straight up denied my really simple custom order request for a custom Type 1 2.5mm to 4.4mm balanced cable, custom 3 color Type 4 cable, and custom 6" RCA's. Because according to the email I received from Pariapt, they apparently "don't carry the type one connectors anymore" (which is odd with how popular the 500 series of Sennheisers are). And for the RCA's "the RCA order would be without paracord as cables at that small of a length are hard to thread/solder" when I know for a fact they are able to make it in paracord at that exact length.
    Meanwhile Hart Audio just makes everything I asked for with Pariapt without specially requesting them for about $40-50 less, and filling out the custom 3 color HD600 cable was super easy
    Pariapt may make really great cables at a slightly higher price, but my current experience with their customer service and lack of options has made me want to stay far away

    I actually am experiencing the exact same issue with my Periapt cables and the right channel cutting out. However I have never really caught the large plastic splitter on anything much. Sadly I have only had them about 8 months. I did recently get a set of custom hart cables and had all the same observations as you. How have the Hart cables been holding up for you? Periapt switched to Amphenol XLR connectors now btw. Great video!

      Thanks Brien, reach out to Periapt. They’re good about fixing those types of issues.

      Hart cables are still perfect apart from the slightly bent 2.5mm. 🍻

    Nice shirt, where did you get it from?

    • @MisterChibs
      @MisterChibs  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The one from the intro? That’s from my favourite Ramen shop called Kinton. You can’t just buy them. They give you a stamp card and every time you completely finish your bowl of ramen, they give you a stamp. I think I got the shirt at 50 bowls.😅 Thanks for watching!

    I noticed Hart sells a 90 degree 2.5 mm balanced connector. Think that would hold up better in the BTR5? I'm thinking of ordering that one...

    • @MisterChibs
      @MisterChibs  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Maybe a bit better but those 2.5mm bend so easily. Btr 7 has 4.4 pentaconn which is definitely my preference.

    So P cables are forever if you don't intentionally cut them, while H cables are weaker versions of that ?

    • @MisterChibs
      @MisterChibs  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Periapt cable wasn’t intentionally cut. It stopped working on one of the channels and was fixed by Periapt. Hart cables are thinner but very well made too. You can’t go wrong with either company, just pick which one suits you best. 👍🏻🍻

    Periapt are ONLY 24 gauge! Also you should use the "heat shrink" by the split between right and left channels to avoid "catching" onto surfaces! BTW,...I now use Fog City Cables which are 22 gauge Mogami and I perceive a difference in sound quality with thicker cables! It may be minimal but nonetheless, I hear a BIG difference in bass response! Something that is measurable especially on the ChiFiman Arya!

    "Snowflake" probably wasnt the best way to describe a virtuous quality, considering the snowflakes of society are those who stand to end freedom of speech and free thought in general, telling us what we can and cant say like some dictatorship lol.
    Just thought Id make you aware of wording when writing the scripts for your videos since you're rather new :p
    Also putting your script higher would make it more immersive for the viewer. We can tell you're looking down at the script or at the very least topic notes for you to talk about lol :p
    And one last thing: Don't speed up the unboxing part. I know you might think this is boring and not worth our time, but there are entire video channels devoted entirely to unboxing stuff. For those that do care for this kind of thing, they would appreciate seeing the unboxing portion without any speed change. That way you keep everyone happy :P

    • @MisterChibs

      Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
      Snowflakes are intricately unique and individual and that's how it was intended to come across. No political affiliation intended whatsoever but you're entitled to think of it however you wish. See what I did there?
      I speed up unboxings when I find them boring and don't want my videos to feel too long. That's my choice and I'll stand by that.
      I appreciate the constrictive criticism. It's always good to read what people think instead of just clicking on the next video. Having said that, I do agree with you about looking down. This is something I've been working on and addressed in my recent videos.
      You guessed it, I'm totally new at this 🍻
