    But, on the headphone end, don’t you have to provide a headphone specific cable per HP connection type, ie 2.5, 3.5. Mini xlr, etc.?

    Everyone talks about Hart's system ..what do they sound like compared to Moon Audio or Periapt? Kinda always thought you the less connectors inline ( i.e. solid cable ) the better the sound . Less solder joints , less reflections back to amp. Note: Hart makes no mention that I can find about the type of wire they use. Do you know? Nor can I find a contact for them.

      You probably don't want me commenting on "sound quality" of cables. That won't end well.

    This balanced cable kit just converts balanced to non-balanced... so you are not actually listening in balanced when using these. It takes the L and R ground and merges them. That is the exact same as a normal unbalanced plug.

    They have a four-foot extension cable that works in the system, so you only need one for all of your headphones.

    Glad you reviewed Hart cables. I kept seeing them pop up on various audiophile sites. More and more ,their system makes sense to me. Buy the kit, and just get new cables, which are really cheap, as needed. Their system is so cost efficient and a value it's not even funny.

      "Better" in terms of price, no. You can spend a few hundred dollars for cables and it won't make any difference in sound.

      @@NoThemeReviews You're big on comparisons, have you compared a premium quality cable with one like this? 4N copper, high end connectors, etc. I think being skeptical is healthy with regards to audio equipment, but we also can't be close minded. I'd be very curious to hear your thoughts on whether it adds anything except cost to go high end.

    Did you experience microphonics with the hart cable? I have some crazy microphonics problems with my periapt cable where I can hear everything the cable rubs against, even my clothes and its because of the paracord used to make the cable. Its so bad that I went back to using the stock cable on my hd650. I ask you as the hart cable is also paracord if you have a similar problem

    It's also great for on the go. I have the short length 18" ending in mini XLR. I can run my cans XLR off my desk setup, and when i go out, pair it with an extension and 3.5mm if i want to run from my phone, or keep it short, add the 2.5mm, and let something like the qudelix 5k dangle/hook it to my jacket since its so small.

    A little late in the game am I but I was wondering if they pick up mechanical noise like friction and what people commonly refer to as "microphonics"? Since you spent some time with it, anything out of the ordinary to report? I've been eyeing a full kit for myself and it would be the only thing holding me back should it be problematic.
    I have some Dunu IEM cable and Corpse Cable that don't pick up noise much at all while my stock Aeon Flow Open RT cable picks up noise like if it is purposely trying to... Thanks!

    • @NoThemeReviews
      @NoThemeReviews  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nothing out of the ordinary. The cables are VERY pliable, soft, and don't cause any microphonics with typical use. I suppose if you rub them vigorously you'll get the sound.

    In 2018 I spent $75USD & purchased a 6 foot "Periapt 4-Pin Balanced XLR cable" for my $800USD Audeze LCD-2C Headphones (recommendation from watching Z-Reviews on TH-cam), after 1 year of use I noticed part of the cable sleeving came apart & the flat Y-splitter would always hit& tug on the bottom of my desk. Periapt cables in my testing are junk, in the end I threw them in the trash & for $169.99USD I then orderd some "LQi Esprit Series UP-OCC Silver Plated Copper Balanced Headphone Cable with black 4-Pin XLR connector". IMO the LQi cables sounded better with clearsymbols & more present vocals- I also noticed the treble was also raised since it uses an OCC silver plated cable (NOT A PLACEBO EFFECT). I'm disappointing with Periapt, you get what you pay for & if you are using $500USD+ headphones I would recommend spending more money on higher quality cables.

    • @phillipnunya6793

      You would think people would validate their claims of silver cables or whatever else by hooking up an oscilloscope and playing music. Not saying you should do it personally, but I'm surprised I don't see anyone doing that.

    They look absolutely great and nice quality. Don't think they do a 2 x 3 pin female xlr jack for balanced termination though? (which is what I use) - sorry to be that guy. • @NoThemeReviews
      @NoThemeReviews  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      James is pretty responsive about custom cables. Email him and ask about that termination. His website says that if you don't want to use the mini XLR system, you can ask for a specific termination.

      @@NoThemeReviews Forgive me, I regret posting now, no prizes for being a smart arse. -Obviously a great product, stellar price, and they would be mad to include a 2 female xlr termination as standard, there can only be a tiny number of us out there that would need that. I recently got into the audiophile scene, and I replaced my cables with cables from an Etsy store "AudiophileNinja". These are great cables, excellent quality, and a vast improvement over the stock headphone cables. Then, I bought a Balanced DAC and amp. So I thought, "Well damn, I'm going to have to buy a new headphone cable." and I did. A little more expensive for an XLR ended cable for Hifiman Sundara's, but it was worth it to get to try my music balanced. Only after I bought the new cable from AudiophileNinja, an incredible cable I might add, that I saw I could've gotten Hart Audio Cables. And so I did for my other headphones (and for the interconnection between the DAC and Amp) and I just feel silly. The quality is just as good, and with the bundled end connections, I will never need to remove the cable from my Sennheiser HD6XX's. Still, the quality in the first set of cables is amazing, and I recommend AudiophileNinja cables, but it's hard to justify with HAC's amazing business model.

  • @lok777
    @lok777 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    This is like adding a proprietary cable system to your setup- optionally on your own- why would you ever do this to yourself?????????????? They could have just made the interconnect connect to a regular 4pin XLR, this is so stupid.

    • @NoThemeReviews
      @NoThemeReviews  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      A regular 4-pin XLR is quite bulky. I wouldn't want that knocking around on my desk or gear. As I said in the video, if you have only one headphone or amp, HAC may not be for you. But if you want one cable to use with several amplifiers or DAPs, the interconnect system makes a lot more sense financially than buying a whole new cable. I've had to spend $75 for a 2.5mm balanced cable for my HD700 to use with a DAP; it was the cheapest cable I could find and I was very unimpressed. But with the HAC, the most I'd have to spend is another $12-17 to get the 2.5mm interconnect.

    • @elburrona
      @elburrona 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They could have also used the 4.4 connector instead of the mini xlr, but then is not locking and probably more expensive.

    • @elburrona
      @elburrona 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      This solution works really well with people that have multiple headphones and multiple amplifiers. if you only have one headphone and one source, then dont bother.

    • @lok777
      @lok777 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@NoThemeReviews I like the idea of the interconnect I do- i just think the interconnect should have connected to a 4pin male XLR instead of mini XLR- then you would have the exact same thing except able to use the wire without the interconnects. It would be no negatives and only positives for us, the consumer. For Hart audio this way is better because now you have to buy more Hart audio gear. I just do not understand why people would buy it- it is purposely designed to be worse for the consumer so they can sell more interconnects..
      Edit- Oh I see what you are saying, a 4pin XLR would be alot more bulky and large if it were going to say a 3.5mm or 2.5mm. I think I would still rather have a 4pin interconnect but I can see why someone would like the smaller sized mini XLR.

    • @lok777
      @lok777 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@elburrona My point is that instead of the mini XLR interconnect- they could have just used a male XLR, and made the interconnect connect to that. the way they did it forces you to use hart audio cable interconnects instead of the million available 4 pin XLR connection widely in use. It is dumb.
