Its interesting how back then the men sometimes refer to the lady in their life as "their woman". Scotty says to Brian in this clip, and Luke uses the terminology when he's telling Bobbie how he dreams of making Laura "his woman". How times do change!

I happened to love "Rise" by Herb Albert! I blasted that song on my stereo speakers & it brings back GH- Luke & Laura days! lol But I do love the brass instruments great music back then.

I love these old shows and the Luke & Laura storyline, but I would love to see the full episodes too if you have them on VHS.

This woman is spot on - Laura was protecting Luke and not realizing the harm she was doing to her own husband and herself too. Laura should have told the truth immediately and never seen Luke again. That would have been real life. In REEL life they become a super couple.

I watched this storyline originally when I was 9. I know, my mom worked and had no idea what I was watching. Anyway, it seems so much different now. I am enjoying the new perspective.
I was 11... and watched at a friends (my mother wouldn't let me watch then).. and I agree so different watching with adult eyes, heart and experience!
Jennifer 's face has more substances and fullness in this scene , it's the best I've seen her look .
I don't know who talked her into packing on so much makeup in the other scene but, it made her look more like a mannequin .
We called those sweaters "Nordic Rags" and yes, they were everywhere. I wish I still had my two. They were SO comfortable! I was in ninth grade in '79 and I used to rush home from high school every day to catch the next installment. That era from '74-'83 was incredible for GH. Anthony Geary and Genie Francis ruled the show, as far as I was concerned. Does anyone remember the first Laura, from '74-'76? She was adorable. Anyone have any film footage from then?
Brenda Prentiss Don't think home video recording existed yet.... well not in mass anyway.... do I doubt it. In that era My sister and I used to have my mother audio tape Charlies Angels!
sussezq I audiotaped Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman! Lol! The tapes are total hiss now.
I was also in 9th grade in '79. I didn't start watching GH until summer of '80 though. That's also when we got our first VCR so when school started back I taped it every day.

I remember Laura when she first came on GH. Yes GF/ Laura as just only 14 wow still a child. Damn she sure was great even then at such a tender age. You go Laura/GF. You where magic from the very beginning just so great. “Oh how I wish they made a happy ending for us dedicated and loving fans. The ones behind the scenes in the world use writers on tv etc to get certain memes, terminology etc commonly said/heard. There's a way scripts can put certain things out there we aren't aware of, some might call these type sensitive subjects placed in tv like rape "then" as "awareness" stories. Back then rape 2as not commonly spoken of. Younger girls watched soaps, this brought the subject out of a closet and they could seek help.
The actress playing Jennifer Smith reminds me of Parker Posey
She reminds me e of another actress by the name of Rosanne Katon. Look her up and you'll see the resemblance.😎👌👌.
Laura didn't want Luke to hire Joanne, because she didn't want competition for Luke
And Joanne might see the connection between Luke and Laura

I think that Joanne would've figured out that it was Luke who raped Laura tbh.
I liked having Jennifer on to make Laura jealous to hasten L&L getting together but the way she stumbled over her lines was so distracting. BTW We never get to see Joanne's reaction to finding out about Luke and Laura do we?
GH Fever I don't mean to disparage anyone's acting ability, but imho, the "Jennifer" acting was just.......awful. Also imho, I think Jennifer was attractive to Luke because he was looking for ANYTHING to help him get over Laura.
@@suemcgee612 True. If you look at Luke's history. When Laura was married to Scotty, he was with Jennifer. When Laura was involved with Stefan, Luke was with Felicia. When Laura moved on to Kevin, even though Luke isn't on canvas, Tracy moved to Amsterdam a year to be with Luke.
Joanne sortof dissapeared
I really like this interaction between Luke and Jennifer. Never thought about it before, but he was really different here talking to her. Makes me wonder how (if they hadn't planned to kill him off, but yet hey hadn't paired him with Laura) his character would have developed. He just didn't seem like a wannabe thug here.
Well they did hook up Laura with Luke and TV history was made Luke,Laura. That what they wrote. Love Rosie was they wrote sorry about that.

I am loving this also, and would like to thank you for posting these. I was in 7th grade but in our house, I would get home from school and I turned on the giding light, becaulse it was over in 30 min. then came other stuff, like giligans island, haha. But then my mother lost her job and GH was on and well, I was hooked, all through the 80s, 90s, but not so much now. These where some good stories!
Yes, strange what they did with the character in the 90's and 02 with Rosanne Barr and Sally Struthers... just like everything with the vets they just kind of poke fun at it....when it was HIGH drama back then!
HATED THESE SCENES WITH R B AND S S AND YES, THEY WERE WEIRD AND STRANGE.

Commercial free soaps! sussezq does the best work! I never liked the actress playing Jennifer.......she always seemed to not know her lines so well, just my opinion. But her storyline added a lot to the L&L saga! They should have kept her on and turned her into a villain!
They did...well the character at least... a few decades later!!! (... and thanks! I try!)
sussezq omigosh, the way they had revolving actresses playing Jennifer made the character a laughingstock.

"Make it on your own", doesn't sound like the Luke of 2009.
Oh come on people let’s just tell it like it is. Luke did work hard but in 2009 he just slow down. Ithink Luke did work hard at the things he wanted.Luke did have a lot on his plate but it always seemed to me he pushed those issues on himself. Our Luke did love a really good adventure it as in his bones all the while. I know Laura saw it here too. Luke was the one who wanted to marry Laura in the very beginning then it did a turn over and it as Laura’s turn. In the end though marriage was on both there mines no turning back then. IMHO yes my humble heart I think they both were soulmates. But I guess all good things come to an end. Here I thought there Love was endless Thank you for listening. Love. Rosie
You know they play it several times through the era and I have no clue... but there are others in and out of here who are music efficianados! They might let us both know!
