Definitely that last minute or two, another emotional dance. They danced in more ways than one, didn't they? The humor written in-between the drama (town crier at Pompeii), and delivered with correct timing and emotion, allowed the "Luke Spencer humor" to develop, and the body movements and facial expressions became a part of the character of Laura's overall development. The actor's all had their way of moving on the screen for us. I once joked with someone about Denise Alexander coming from the school of gibberish acting, "Um, oh, uh (hand clasp), well, uh, no..." along with the occasional "goodness" thrown in...things like that helped us to literally personalize these characters to the point of almost believing them to be real people. That is what makes all of these actors so great!
Yes the actors all of them made GH what it was. All those many years ago was great and wonderful. That is why GH fans always had there eyes glued to ABC everyday at 3:00 PM. The acting and the interaction between these two is like two great dancers who have a great repoire and chemistry together. They can anticipate each other's moves , words don't even have to be spoken.They are connected on a wavelength only known between them . It is simply magic

It is that last four minutes....the humor....Laura’s unconscious admission delivered expertly and THEN the follow....the close in, the movements, the face “wait a minute...am I dreaming”. Just can’t get enough of it
I loved it to so very much. It hurts to know that even on TV soaps you just can’t relie on real true love.. I mean ‘‘tis just a TV soap for crying out loud. Gee it’s TV fantasy that is all it is. It’s not real so why can’t there be a happy endings Just for all the very devoted fans gee think about all the ratings and all the happy, happy fanes. Well thanks anyway. The scene here in this clip between genie and tony are such a great acting study for ANY aspiring actor … the whisper intensities, the emphasis on the right words, the volume levels of their lines , the direct eye contact not over done, the small movements and gestures of their heads… such a natural delivery from both… just beautiful to study… and it goes on and on in every scene. And to Brian’s character here he is natural with genie and gentle with her.. I think genie was excellent as an acting partner

I found your comment interesting. I'm confused by it thou. Ethan was a product of Luke & Holly when they thought they were going to die in Mexico (1984), making Holly & Laura pregnant at the same time. (I think thats what we are to believe). Makes me sick how nasty they had Luke acting toward Laura about Nickolus, and yet he had willing nailed Holly at the height of their "Love". I was pissed when we found out about Ethan.

The writers should have known this scene by heart, and stayed with the continuity.. that he would not fall in love with someone else, even Tracy. I guess over the years, they think people will forget? Or that it doesn't matter because the old storyline "expired?"
Luke & Laura are meant to be forever. Unfortunately the writers didn't take care of their love. Sure, we the viewer can accept their ups/downs & separations but like you said, their love should've never died or even had a suggestion of dying. Laura should always be on Luke's mind as his only love but he is with others when she's not present. The writers didn't do it right.

they are probably on their 87th different writer in 2010. The writers today were not even born or were in diapers.
@ You have a point, and maybe I'm too idealistic... but I feel that when they are hired on as a writer, they should investigate the history of the characters and their motivations etc. maybe they think that's too much time and trouble, I don't know. Nancy Grahn, on her new soaps in quarantine, said that the schedule is so hectic and fast-paced compared to back then, that they don't allow time to bounce off ideas, try new things, etc. or however she put it, it was interesting.
From my understanding, TG wanted Luke to be portrayed as he was originally written: A really hard, cold guy. Well, that Luke isn't the one people fell in love with. And apparently his contracts enabled him to have creative control over Luke. He's a phenomenal actor, but there are reasons why actors act and writers write.
These scenes between genie and Tony are such a great acting study… emphasis on just the right words, the tone is set so well, the intensity of their volume levels, and the small movements .. they were spot on correct for such a natural effect…
Someone posted that they could watch these two all day. I am in such withdrawal these days on GH with Tony and Genie both here and not seeing them together! Laura had reason to dislike and distrust Bobbie, but Bobbie never had any reason to do the dirty, cruel stuff to Laura she did. Bobbie was always a self serving and cruel person especially if she didn't like something. Her morals turned on a dime too.
