That is her special toy. It is as close as I can find to the original. On her first Christmas as a kitten, she climbed the tree and claimed a plush snowman ornament. She loved it and took it with her everywhere. There were four in the set, so I put them all aside for her. They lasted about 8 years before the last one was gone. She didn't have one for years after that. I kept searching until I found this one that is very close to the original. She likes it.
Thank you for answering my question yesterday about how old the kitties are and when they came to live with you and Mom. It is so sweet and it makes perfect sense that Todd “adopted you”. He is a smart insightful kitty who knows what he wants and he knew, even as a kitten, all those years ago that he wanted you. It was love at first site. ❤️
Todd inspired me to start trying buttons again with my black and white Logan. His favourite activities are destroying the board and just laying over the whole thing haha.
Todd is so smart! I have 7 cats and I don't think any of them could do what Todd does! He has taught me to be more conscious of my communication with them though.
I like how those baskets encourage them to stay put on your desk instead of walking in your way while you're trying to work. Though it wasn't working with Glamour in this video.
Most male kitties are Southpaws, while most female kitties are Northpaws.😊 I noticed my 2 male fur babies were both Southpaws more than 25 years ago, but it was just a couple of months ago that I read the information that I just shared. We should observe if Miss Glamour Kitty is a Northpaw, just for fun.😊❤😊 I love all 3 kitties of Dad's: Todd ❤ Glamour ❤ Paulie ❤ They are all so beautiful and unique.❤ Thank you, Todd's Dad for sharing your kitties lives with us. ❤😊❤
They really don't bother it much but know that it is theirs, and they can do with it what they want. That may take the fun out of it knowing it's okay to mess with it. Lol
Todd is smart, wanting to play with Strng Thing on the hardwood floor, then asking to be settled into his basket, because his leg hurts and jumping around would feel painful. Clever boy! I love how Glamour slyly gets some attention [without pets] from Dad, walking on his work, lol. Dad is used to this, Cats being better doors than windows, obviously! I adore how she chats and meeps, and seems content that Dad understands what she's expressing.
❤Love too how Glamour watches Dad intently while he & Todd are talking. 😺 If she determines there's nothing (e.g. Treats?) in it for her, she doesn't waste anymore of her time.
My goodness! Glamour seems very interested with that little Christmas tree. She goes and stares at it as Todd has a real conversation with you. I just love Glamour! I hope you are still considering a channel for her. I can't believe how much I 💜 her!
@@TheChroniclesofToddToddTalks Excellent decision! I'm excited to get to see them all more. This is such a sweet channel. Happy Holidays & Merry Christmas to your whole family! 🎄❄️🎩🌟🎁
I love the Christmas tree. Are there special ornament for the cats on it? Glamour is the house dive and a chatty catty.Todd knows what he wants and not shy about asking. So cute. ❤❤😻❤❤
Todd immediately alerted from the basket when he saw Glamour go to you for attention and affection, and then seemed to decide to relax. He’s fighting jealousy pangs, maybe? Todd probably remembers and is still considering what you told him after the Paulie video debacle, about loving each of them. Awesome relationship you and Todd have!
now Todd has his own basket! we put towels for padding so it is more comfortable for our cats. ours love boxes that they just fit in too. love the cats christmas tree. pet the kitties foe me!
It seems to be going well. Paulie is upstairs, and they share treats. Todd has even asked for food for Paulie, so I think things are getting back to the way they were.
I've seen few people with buttons use a raised board that has cut-out holes for the buttons so the learner can just walk on them. I wonder if something like that would help Todd? Hopefully fluent pet will make touch buttons as technology gets better. Wouid be easier for cats i think
The buttons do not need to be fixed or redesigned. They are designed so a kitten a few months old can use them. If Todd bats his Jingle Ball or toy mouse and it rolls across a button, it will often activate it. The problem is the way Todd does it. Most cats will walk up and stand on the button, pushing straight down. Todd likes to walk up to his board, stretch, and push down while extending his arm. Think of it as if you were cutting a steak; you do it with your arms close to your chest, which makes it easier. If you were to do it with your arms extended out, it would hurt your arms after a while.
He's a good boy. I was thinking about Todd's Button Elbow. Have you looked into cosequin for cats? It's supposed to be good for joints and kidneys. Joints are its main purpose, kidneys are a side effect.
How long did it take Todd to learn to use his first few buttons? I would love to one day be able to hold even short conversations with one of my cats, but we have started with 3 buttons several weeks ago. The words are all words for their favorite treats so they should be very motivated, but despite practicing several times each day (about 10 minutes each time), none of them seem to have picked up on it. I can't tell if this is normal because I have no reference point. They all seem very interested to engage in "button time". They follow me right over and are quite attentive for the entire period. They even linger over the buttons after I tell them "all done" and walk away. I have also seen each of them exploring around the button area. But so far the best I can get is for them to sniff at the particular button each favors in what may or may not be a purposeful way. I can't seem to help them understand they need to actually press on the buttons, even though I reward them for any contact with the appropriate buttons, including the few times they have accidently stepped on a button, and I have helped the two who are comfortable with me lifting their feet to actually press the buttons with an immediate reward. Should I keep trying or should I just admit that none of them will ever be a "Todd"?
I have seen other people comment that it took 1-3 months for their cat to push the buttons! You may want to look into the research a little. I remember Billi's mom working on "targeting" as a distinct skill, starting with high five and progressing to an actual button. It's easy for us to make that connection of thought to specific action, but harder for cats.
They recommend you do not use a button for treats because it will distract from their learning. There’s also videos available by fluent pet that will help you step-by-step. I believe the free 30 minute video might explain for you. The link to the fluid pet website should be in the description area of this video. On the website, you will find the tutorial option.
If they have not started using them, you may want to switch to a favorite toy. Starting with food can make it harder in the long run, as the board will become nothing more than a vending machine. Todd is special; he understood what the board and buttons were right away, and once I showed him the one that was his favorite toy, he started using the board 10 minutes after setting it up. You can see this in the very first video on the channel. I think it's called Todd's First Button Push.
Todd uses his new buttons now to understand what they mean. Basket can mean beig put in one or sth. that can be onserved with a basket. Galmour Basket means a different thing than "basket" on its own ;-) Smarty pantaloons, he is ;-)
They like it and know it is theirs. They are allowed to do what they like to it and know that in exchange, they leave our tree alone downstairs. They even get their own Christmas morning with presents.
It's probably because I took the fun out of it. That is their tree they can do what they want with as long as they leave the downstairs tree alone. It's not as fun if you are allowed to do it. Lol.
Good job, Todd! I would be interesting to see a video about buttons Todd has pushed that didn't make any sense and try to figure them out. I assume he does that from time to time??
They've said that toys move faster on hardwood floors, that the cats like that better, and also, when Todd makes an unintended button press, he is immediately upset with himself such that he puts his ears back. That can identify any button-press mistakes he might make, so if he doesn't do that, it wasn't a mistake. He is very careful with his feet, to activate only the intended buttons. It is common for people to not realize how careful animals are with their feet, as stepping carelessly could have huge ramifications, which is why elephants are so very careful with theirs.
They are very old. The one Glamour uses, she picked that out and claimed it when she was a kitten, and we had had it for a while then. That was 15 years ago. Lol. We had Todd's basket then, too.
Todd is pressing quite hard with the whole of his arm, is it possible to make the buttons easier? Perhaps speak to the manufacturer bcos they need this feedback from Todd & Dad❤ Is that Glamour I heard speaking off camera?❤

@@TheChroniclesofToddToddTalks I wonder if it might help him if, getting down on your hands and knees, you demonstrated for him the better way to do it, and also the not-good way, so that he might realize there's an easier way that wouldn't hurt his arm. You could say "Ouch" when demonstrating it his way, and then rub your arm, then rub his arm.
He can reach it just fine. He likes for me to place him in it because on the way, I give him cuddles, kisses, and pets. Same thing as tucking you kids in at night.
