I think he does, because he is used to have face time through the phone with Dad, when he is travelling. But in this case I think he was also using it as a mirror, to check on Glamour.
My Jack (dog, Great Dane/Akita cross), even as a puppy put relationship first, always wanting a solid half hour of hugging before eating, even when he was hungry. He was an amazing dog.
@@TheChroniclesofToddToddTalks The Akita makes them very unusual in their personality features. I've had great dogs, but Jack was, by far, at the top of the list. Inspired by the wit and wisdom of cats who have excelled at buttons, like Todd, I got my 15 year old cats buttons. They seem to think the buttons and I are a joke, but it’s been fun so far when they troll me with the food button at 3 am, or sniff what I gave them, reject it, and touch the food button again for something better. After 15 years together, we communicate very well already, but the food button has so far been a lot of amusement for all three of us… and then the bird has learned to imitate it…
What do you all suspect Todd is going over in his head when he lies down in his basket, looking so seriously into space? He is definitely thinking hard about things…..
We miss "tons." Over the millennia, we've been "dumb as dirt." When we consider how our forebears treated animals, y-ouch! 😭 One sunny afternoon, years ago, I took a short drive into Catalina State Park (north of Tucson), to the end of the road, and came upon a running spigot with no one around, there beside the road. A puddle had formed, and being raised with the southern Arizona water-is-not-to-be-wasted mentality, I pulled over and turned it off. As I headed back to my truck, out from behind a large shrub came a free-range steer: he looked at me intently with a countenance that conveyed "Why did you do that?!" He stood there and glared at me for some time, then made his way over to the spigot and used one of his horns to turn the spigot back on. It was not a simple push-lever, it was a circular crank-handle, not an easy one, and he knew exactly how to turn it on, and did so without trouble. I sat in my truck, watching, aghast, having always been taught that cattle were dumb, and seeing firsthand, then, that they are not. On my way out, I stopped at the park guardhouse to tell them what I had seen: they replied that they were aware of all of that, that he had gotten into the park from the back side, and that much to their dismay, he always turned the water on after they would turn it off, but obviously, he was thirsty, as could be well understood in the Sonoran desert. That was an enlightening experience. I am convinced that mankind has *_vastly_* underestimated and misjudged the creatures, that it hasn't been them that were dumb, but the ones misjudging them.
Aaaaaw, Todd! It's so sweet that he wants Glamour to play with his favourite toy too, that's such an honour. Now he just need to come to the realisation that other people can want different things than we may want. ❤
I came to the comments specifically to see if I was the only one who was troubled by that issue! lol Figured maybe that was why Todd didn't want Mousey just yet. I was glad to see several of us noticed. lol I wouldn't want to be the only one ...lol
Todd is so nice and considerate. I haven't been watching these videos for that long, but I feel Todd is expressing himself more and more and he is expanding his thoughts and expression of those thoughts recently. A clever cat, is Todd.
I’m thinking of getting some buttons for Suki, she’s 8 years old, and I have only had her a year, I think she’s smart enough to learn how to use them, because she knows how to get my attention by snagging my trouser leg, then getting up to say follow me to the hobby room, or wanting something to eat.
These videos make me cry very hard in a good way sometimes. My cat didn't have buttons but it still comforts me as much as I miss her, that she knew how much i adored her.
Todd has got to be a very smart cat. I don't think most pets would use that thing . I love the way Todd hits a butont and then sits there looking at his dad.
The late Bili, (cat) she was 12 years old when she was first introduced to buttons. Sometimes the animals in a house regard the buttons as the property/territory of one, and the others don’t try it if they know what’s good for them. It seems Glamour couldn’t care less, but Paulie sometimes looks curiously at the buttons.

First, it was nice that he wanted to share his Jingle Ball with Glamour. Very sweet. Second, I swear Todd knows and understands that the camera is by the baskets. Every time I have seen him in the basket, he spends at least a portion of his time staring at the camera like he is staring at his audience.

But I believe he thinks YOU'RE the smart boi for using them. (Only partly kidding!) He's beautiful... inside and out. Blessings to you all.
I just love watching Todd, Glamour, and Paulie. They remind me of my 3 cats. But I did notice the infamous hairball by the chair. Anyone who has cats would recognize this. Was it Todd’s hairball? Because that would be why he was not ready to eat yet. Don’t all cat parents wish we could get them to put their hairballs on a wipable floor? I have gone through so many carpet spot cleaners over the years. I do love my precious kitties so!
