    About my videos: These videos are a resource for anyone wishing to wake up from the dream of separation. Awakening, enlightenment, and liberation are becoming far more mainstream possibilities than they once were. There are many good teachers out there, and if you resonate with the teachings of Eckhart Tolle, Rupert Spira, or Sadhguru, you might find resources here that address these deeper promptings to investigate your true nature.
    Disclaimer: The information presented in these videos is not meant to diagnose or treat any psychiatric or medical illness. The inquiries presented herein are potent and can have powerful effects on the way you experience yourself and reality. If you feel you are at risk of harming yourself or others, these videos and practices may not be the best thing for you at the moment. Seek help wherever necessary which might include a hospital emergency department, a suicide helpline etc.

    Just want to express my gratitude. This ressonated like crazy with me! A thought came up “How would i even confirm an awakening!?” and then it hit, through another thought, then everything was just dropped and i laughed for like an hour.
    Angelo you’re the goat!

    Angelo, I know you'll laugh at this, but part of 'my trauma narrative' was, when this little girl was abused, the father would tickle 'me' to the point of unconsciousness. The realisation that 'i' was helpless and couldn't stop him, led to a shutting down of emotion/feeling, and this manifested in not being ticklish. At all. And now.... oh, man! I'm having to learn to wash my own feet amongst the *astounding* amount of feeling in every place, and it's almost impossible to do!!! lol. Not all freedom is free!!! 😂🤣😂😍

    This video is absolutely sensational. Bravo!
    I fairly recently had what seemed like a minor shift but from a small seed it continues to grow. And this video has added another dimension that deepens things further. I’ll try to explain in case it is useful for anybody else.
    When enquiring into the I Am, my mind was initially going gangbusters trying to logic it out. Which I guess is par for the course to start with. But having exhausted that, a few months ago, the I Am dropped into place with a non-conceptual ‘click’. After this had happened once through grace, I could then initiate it on demand through meditative enquiry.
    That may not sound entirely non-dual because the ‘click’ I reference, requires a tiny bit of effort/doing for the grok noticing of something that is always already there, to instantaneously happen.
    But for me, this is the current felt-sense phenomenology of how the obscuring clouds of mind identification are cleared for periods through I Am inquiry.
    The best (but rather hokey) metaphor I can come up with, is that when I’m self-identified, I am like a Scalextric car on a track that has come out of its track slot. The wheels are running and the car still moves forward but in a haphazard, jerky and sometimes alarming fashion. The ‘click’ gently nudges the car (me) into the track slot which puts it onto an effortless line.
    Having watched this video, when back in the slot and then enquiring into What Is The Next Thought? becomes flow and really has power.
    Hope that makes some sort of sense! First time I’ve tried to put any of this sort of stuff into words and it rams home to me the warnings from the real teachers, that language can’t ever capture any of this beyond a conceptual approximation which can never do it justice.

    This was so simple yet was bar none the most effective guided inquiry I’ve ever come across. The pointings are very clear, and there’s just the right amount of explanation, and there’s no obnoxious spiritual affectation that gets in the way of hearing the pointings in the clearest and simplest way possible. I think you are the spiritual content creator I’ve been looking for. Thank you so so much for this video; I will surely be sticking around.

    I’m so happy at this video! You know from the last double barrel that I was “struggling” with noticing thoughts. It seems quite comical, now. You were speaking of this exact inquiry, but I really did not grasp it. This is quite fun. Neutrality sounds like a dream. Thank you!

    In my experience, my analytic mind helped me until it started to be a hindrance. The way you describe it at the beginning of the video I think I have been awakening in that way, but at some point, the analysis keeps me in the mind. I have always found it so difficult to inquire without going in the mind to analyze and understand, etc. Also this week, something happened which made me see so clearly your idea of the house of mirrors. These thoughts and reflections of thoughts, and reflections of reflections OMG, it is just endless 😳 when you use mind to try and get out of that your doomed 😅 surrender, letting go, surrender 🙏

    Thank you Angelo. Your transmission is very powerful. I notice sometimes when I listen you speak I can enter that space that feels fluid, where thoughts, images of myself seem to move and change with no distance, but then I can have entire days where things feel very enclosed and heavy. I get frustrated because it feels like the openness I felt before was just a delusion. I kinda laugh at this sometimes when it seems like I've come out of the confusion. When that happens is it best to put away all distractions and just sit? My tendency is to find distractions

    This is great. I've been avoiding inquiry because it may seem complicated to the mind and maybe because I'm a bit lazy but after finally trying it out it feels intriguing and even fun. I've caught myself constantly pausing the video and inquiring into my thoughts, why they arise and where do they arise from and I feel like I may be doing a sort of meditation + inquiry from now on. Thank you!

    Do you think Samadhi is a prerequisite for inquiry? In my personal opinion - in order for inquiry to be effective - you must first be able to reach some level of samadhi/absorption. If you cannot concentrate the mind, inquiry will just turn into a session of wandering around in your internal world while thinking you are actually practicing.

    • @SimplyAlwaysAwake
      @SimplyAlwaysAwake  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Logically what you are saying makes sense. I used to believe it myself, it seemed so obvious. Now it’s clear to me that it isn’t always necessary Howe we it’s always helpful .
      I’ll say it this way. Samadhi without inquiry often does not lead to awakening. Inquiry without samadhi often does.

    • @brianschultz7320
      @brianschultz7320 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@SimplyAlwaysAwake Samadhi definitely isn’t necessary for Awakening, but I do believe, the Zen view, that Samadhi does make you “more ripe” for Kensho.
      In my own experience, I have been running away from what is actually happening, right in front of me, and living in my head most of the time. Although I have done inquiry for a few years, my practice had no real consistency or authentic intentionality. I’d describe my general experience as a “trance state” as Adyashanti would say.
      What has been the most beneficial to me has been becoming very one pointed but very relaxed at the same time - through breath counting. Meido Moore calls it breathing the count or becoming (one with) the breath. I see why many Rinzai and Soto teachers prescribe this to new students. Done properly, you are very grounded, relaxed, and one pointed. And this is very fertile ground for Koan or Inquiry.
      Like I mentioned, I do have a strong bias towards the Dharma and Zen. With that said, cultivating Samadhi and becoming more embodied and grounded in my practice, is really what has been the key for me. Or maybe I’m just brainwashed by Soh and John Tan 😝

    It's also like a defrag on the fly. Those beliefs, once identified, become quicker to recognize each time and as they expose their higher values, get replaced and restructured along the way, so it all becomes quite automatic. It may not be the best way to go for everyone at this time but getting our beliefs integrated with self evidence is the only way to get there.

I feel like that is something that would be valuable to experience since my life circumstances make this kind of practice a very isolated and solitary one. Is there payment involved? Is there a requirement to be somewhere or can it be done on a video call? Where can one find people that want to aid in awakening and are the most likely to be reliable? Thanks for the video as always!

    Hey Angelo, this might be a bit of an odd request, but could you make a video maybe specifically targeted to students? I struggle with the question if it is possible to realize these truths while engaged in conceptual/intellectual work. Sometimes it makes me sad, because I really like what I am doing and most of the time it brings me great joy, but on the other side I had a few non-dual glimpses and there is a deep longing for the unravelling process. Are these two things incompatible?
    I would love a video on that, maybe also with practical advice while one does intellectual problem solving or is engaged with conceptual material.
    Thank you for your work!

    • @SimplyAlwaysAwake
      @SimplyAlwaysAwake  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      They are definitely not incompatible. Maybe I will in future.

    • @ianmccall1789
      @ianmccall1789 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      i second this. i am a graduate student studying pure math and i’ve been on this path for the past 3 years. awakening clarifies thoughts and so clarifies the thinking process itself. with a clearer mind, intellectual work can be less stressful and confusing and become more like playing a game with specific rules (logic, grammar, form, etc.). so, have fun with it! awakening does not prevent you from playing specific games, you simply see that the rules are arbitrary.

    • @alessio7972
      @alessio7972 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@ianmccall1789Yes, this is my experience also, it becomes less stressful and more playful, but in my experience there is a qualitative difference between open, spacious awareness in formal sessions pr while walking or sitting in a bus and being involved in solving conceptual problems. There I am absorbed which can be peaceful, but there is a more constricted and uncomfortable feeling in the background, and there is no „space“ between thoughts where there could be some sort of non conceptual recognizition. I had the thought of incompatibility, because if I would need spaces between thoughts or even become aware of thoughts then that stops my engagement in the thinking process and I lose the meaning of the concept and just see symbols on paper for example or see thoughts but devoid of content. So a more precise question would be: Can I recognize non-dual nature at the same time as staying in touch with the content of words and actually being effective at what I do without being distracted by my remembrance to look for my true nature when lost in work?

    • @ianmccall1789
      @ianmccall1789 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@alessio7972 i can’t answer your question directly, but be alert to thoughts about comparison and implication. for example, if you are comparing the experience of intellectual work to the feeling of remembering meditating, that comparison is of no benefit to your work or your meditation. in your comment, you expressed the implication that “if i become aware of thoughts, then i won’t be able to engage the content of my thoughts”. my inquiry is, how do you know that’s true? surely you’ve heard that this is only a thought. investigate whether this implication is actually true in your experience. it may or may not be, but continue investigating.
