Awakening, enlightenment, and liberation are becoming far more mainstream possibilities than they once were. There are many good teachers out there, and if you resonate with the teachings of Eckhart Tolle, Rupert Spira, or Sadhguru, you might find resources here that address these deeper promptings to investigate your true nature.

John Paolucci's Universal Line actually goes much deeper, 'further' as Jed McKenna would stay. No need for Dark Shadows when you understand and accept the Truth of Who you really are! Rejecting that Truth is what causes the suffering on this path, the darkness they tell you you need to experience to break through to awakening.

Still in the process of recognizing thoughts and repeating to myself: "This is a thought, that is a thought" over and over again, hundreds of times, thousands of times, all the time. It has started to change the way I see things. It seems that when we are mind-identified everything is a thought. We don't hear a sound, we hear the thought-sound. We see the thought-sight, etc. It's like a permanent overlay. Still breaking the wall of mind identification brick by brick, and in no hurry to finish the job.

Soooo relatable. Another thing about this is sometimes i have thoughts that tell me “doing this is going to be exhausting” or “I’m tired of doing this over and over when are we going to rest” and that “rest” is completely falling back into thought.
Maybe this is what he talked about in the book where we go back and forth. Don’t know, but i am trying my best to well… simply stay awake.

This is interesting because I bumped into this exact insight the other day.
I was solidly “there” i. e. Here. To an unusual extent for me. I am at the point where it seems to come and go.
I wandered “how do I end up believing it? How does ANYONE believe, much less almost everyone.
So, I decided to watch VERY VERY closely exactly HOW it happens.
    I couldn’t believe the simplicity.
What I saw (in my words) was a thought arises, and with it a feeling. The feeling is something is better or worse than this. If it’s better then “I” must “do something” to make this reality different than it is in a time that isn’t now. I
What I saw was simply that this isn’t what the “I” (ego) does. It’s what is IS.
“You” are simply the process of trying to improve upon your feelings by acting in the present, informed by the past, to create a different future.
When the process isn’t done, “you” aren’t there.
I couldn’t believe it. I actually said out loud “fucking really, this is all you got!?!?”
But then, it was time for me to do the dishes because I told her I would and she might be in a bad mood because……
So simple. But SO FUCKING STICKY.
I mean, obviously there isn’t time that is not now, and there isn’t a place that isn’t here and this is the only way that here and now is, and the feeling you have is not good or bad just there doing it’s “push/pull” thing and the feeling is just there.
The epitome of “easier said than done”.

Yeah, it feels like the compelling part of the thoughts is that they somehow form a sort of roadmap. A roadmap from the present moment which is deemed insufficient, to some future state of being where things are finally "ok". It's like "you better pay attention to every thought because you need to evaluate them all and make the correct choices and follow the correct thought-path to find/create your better life. And if you miss a thought or you didn't pay enough attention you might miss something really important and who knows where you'll end up then!" It this sense of wanting to be in control and to "figure life out" that makes the thoughts compelling (for me).

Dear Angelo, is there a proper way for me to ask a question you might choose to address in one of your videos? I will try here for now. The short version is my abiding awakening is a falling away of a mental, conceptual sense of self. There is still a subtle sense of self, however I basically do not believe the mind, thoughts. The moment this happened, a million tons of pain fell off my body and emotions and energy, and I also recognized.. what some call presence, beingness. This beingness is always here, and it has given me access to a powerful way of doing shadow work, of liberating all the traumas and trapped energy etc. So my present experience is "I am nothing, but presence is" - on almost every map of awakening, it seems people get the presence first, with an experience of oneness with everything and everyone, and later there's an experience of no self I suppose. While I can feel this presence subtly in all things, there is a deeper acceptance, empathy, love even, I do not yet experience this overwhelming sense of oneness. Have you seen this happen backwards? And, beyond abiding in presence and letting it unfold, is there any direct way from here to dissolve this filter and tap into that oneness? Thank you 🙏🏻

This should help, ur insight can be described in words ie thoughts but all thoughts are fundamentally a reflected distortion of reality. It's description of the insight is like it's best attempt to imitate the deep knowing of ur direct experience

It's like the mind can only get so far with the description. The same way that u could tell someone else ur insight using the same words, but to them, it would be completely meaningless. The thoughts are like a distorted symbol of the actual thing in itself

It's funny, I just realized one of my fundamental beliefs through this method - that awakening is something that needs to happen. Do you think "we" grab onto that next thought is caused by the mind's boredom with the present moment? If mind is the personal narrative, then it has, for the most part, little buy-in with the present moment.

When I let go of a thought or a train of thoughts, I am left with this intense feeling/sensation in the body. I feel like a pressure cooker. I get hot and my cheeks are burning. Fortunately, I do not argue anymore with or try to distract myself from this intense feeling/sensation. I do not pay as much attention as I used to. I could even say that if I do not resist it, it is quite pleasant at times. So, what is potentially distressing when I try to run away from it is gradually loosing its power. Thank you.

There are two things in this world,
(1)every thing that you can sense and
    (2) thought.
Just take the thought out of the equation.
    And Experience what is now.
Now start thinking and don’t realise your are thinking. Have a thought off desire because it makes you feel good and when reality says no too your desires,
why not get angry and throw your toys out of the pram to show everyone who you really are. How dare reality treat me like this.
I’m going to get offended by it and teach it a lesson.
    1+1=3.

Investigating this, I saw that at the end of each thought is an upward movement of energy in the right side of my chest, neck, and face. And specifically I saw that the eyes glance upward and to the right. These things seem to compel me to notice the next thought. I then wondered what would happen if I prevented my eyes from glancing upward and to the right. I cast my eyes downward and saw the mental chatter greatly diminish. Coolio!

I really love this, I’m trying to formulate my question simply… It seems like two things are going on( with me) one is acceptance of my human form, and my sense of what I want in life (not to make me happy), but just a really normal desire, almost as if it’s forcing an embodiment Into this form and attaching itself to me, versus not believing my thoughts, and not not having that be my habit, it’s almost as if the wheel is keeping me on in extremes like embodiment meaning, I’m having to face my lack of fulfillment of desire, and there is clear suffering, or I’m not believing any thought and I’m in La La Land. Neither is reality, although. Could you comment? I would really appreciate that.❤

It's weird, I can sense the "I" thought - I feel the momentum towards it and there's almost a safety in just sitting in that while I'm disregarding all other thoughts. I know I need to disregard this thought as well, but at times when I'm in that thought alone, bringing my attention into the body, I also get to a place of where the "I" thought still exists (it never goes away) but no longer has the content associated to it. Am I on the right track?

It's not quite like "struggling to not grab on". Is letting go of something really struggling? It might feel like that when we are really habituated into a certain action. Like an addiction. Quitting drinking (something I'm familiar with) feels like a struggle at first. But after a while it feels more like just letting go (a person who never drank alcohol is not struggling to stay sober). It's actually to stop struggling and let go. It's the holding on to the addiction that is the struggle, the struggle to not just feel what there is to feel, to experience what there is to experience right now in this moment.

As I watch thoughts from the silence whatever is holding on seems to be related to a subtle sensation in my chest.

You say insights are not thoughts so I'm wondering how to recognize them. Thare have been times when after aggressively watching thoughts the mind would become still and clear. It becomes obvious that thoughts aren't created by "me" and the sense of self is nowhere to be found and then realize that there never was a self. This is what I thought insight is, but I hear it in my own voice in the mind. Your description suggests those are just thoughts too. Now I'm confused.

As you say… ‘It becomes obvious’ thoughts aren’t created by me and the sense of self is nowhere to be found. Is this ‘it becomes obvious’ not a direct insight that doesn’t rely on thought? No need to hang onto any thought of it, as this is but the mind trying to claim it afterwards. Just keep seeing directly and let thoughts go.

Thanks for the help. It took a while to sink in. It may take some practice to notice insights as they appear but I guess it may not matter much. Maybe with insights it isn't important to notice because there's nothing to be done with them, whereas thoughts need to be seen as such.@cuttingthrough4718

You say everyone can do this but what about schizoid, autistic spectrum, psychotic personalities ? These are particularly powerful thought habits - is it just a case that they take longer than neurotypicals to see through thoughts or is it practically impossible? Asking for a friend 😂
