    Andy Kirkpatrick's "Down" shows the super munter with the strands clipped inside the carabiner. I think the idea is that with the unclipped strands, there is a possibility of the super collapsing into a standard munter if mishandled. If the initial munter is not enough friction, I could see a scenario where someone loses control - especially since there is no backup for this. He also shows a version that uses a second carabiner to help with the modification of an initial munter. pretty neat!

      I was thinking the same thing about needing to clip the strands for the super munter. Glad I wasn’t imagining things.
      Will give it a try the way it’s demonstrated in this video as well the next time I get a chance.

    I've seen that the screw gate can be unscrewed by the rope when doing it that way, so you could face the gate the other direction to make it safer. That is primarily for the standard Munther so might be okay here but worth considering, since it's depending on where the loose strands end up

    I think you forgot to clip those brake strands once more in order to have super munter.

      You can reclip… you have you have ti tap dance around the strands significantly more to do that… but definitely can “officially finish” the super munter

      With two ropes just a munter does okay with me, super is too much friction for me atleast and I only use on single strand

      Should you use a third hand? (Hollow block, etc.) when rapping a Munter or Super?

    Thought a super munter was a munter on top of a munter

    • @summitseekersexperience
      @summitseekersexperience  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Effectively that is correct… I couldn’t show all sides of the hitch at once but you basically have a munter on the back and front of the carabiner

    • @JimmySendsSometimes
      @JimmySendsSometimes ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Try tying a munter on a munter and see what happens. You will go nowhere because you've created a clove hitch. The super munter is just one extra wrap, kind of like half a munter if that makes sense.

  • @sebastiangronvall2
    @sebastiangronvall2 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    If you go to fast the rope-to-rope can burn it. Not only does it destroy the rope, but it.can be very dangerous. Use an 8 and a carabiner at least..
