I'll never forget when I got this double set CD. It was 1999 and I was in the Navy, stuck at port in my submarine. My girlfriend at the time had bought this CD as well as Paul Van Dyk's 3-disc set of Vorsprung Dyk Tecknik and brought them on board for me. I remember putting this CD in and getting completely lost for the next 2 1/2 hours. Probably his best album, besides his essential 1995 mix (IMO), and to this day it can stand against any album put out by todays "DJs"!

where he takes us from Travel-Bulgarian thru the beginning of Anomaly, seems like planet hopping in space. Van Bellen captures that on a lesser scale but is still brilliance, nonetheless
As summed up here imo one of the best mixes ever put on a CD. This mix takes you on a journey and the 1st 6 tracks are just bliss before it takes you down. A true masterpiece mixed during the days where trance DJs were trying to out-trance each other with anthems. Sasha found the sweet spot resulting in music you can imagine being played at a sunset beach club, a packed saturday evening club or even just sticking it on at home to relax to. A one of a kind!
Global underground/arrivals/departures have some of the best mixes ever produced, this is up there as one of the best. Dreamily hypnotic. Tracks by Travel and stone proof, love them.

I know America invented it all ie House-Chicago, Garage-New York, Techno-Detroit, but just love how Britain embraced it and did a better job than Underground America of distributing and championing this awesome music to the rest of the world. Peace.
If you mean by better ,selling and letting corporate take this sacred underground music a pollute it with there festivals and terrible EDM. Then yeah you Brits have done a great job.
Dance music isn't a competition. America and the UK both deserve credit. Late 60s and 70s NYC to Chicago to Detroit then UK. A lot of American ravers in the 90s greatly influenced by the UK scene/music. You need both places.
This was the soundtrack to my youth. Even now it amazes me how @ 4.40 bang on the money the hairs on the back of my kneck tingle soon as those pad chords kick in.😚

@@Balthorium You knew Daum Bentley? I've been wanting to meet the guy ever since I heard this, THEN heard lightdarklight and lowdown motivator. Fuck man, he's a genius. I can't even come close with my setup I have and skills. lol I'm an amateur anyway, but besides tripping to this music, I'm a very analytical person, and I try to learn by hearing other people's sound then rework it in my head and try to imagine, "oh! must be that knob! must be that EQ!" Definitely wish he did more music. wander what happened... its like he's a ghost. I do know one thing, lowdown motivator had a lament in the album book about the loss of someone named Justin Jones, wander if this has anything to do with it. Anywho.. good shit.
@@granderondeproductions3286 Justin Jones was our friend and Daum’s roommate who a robber stabbed in the neck in Haight Ashbury probably about 1992 when he tried to help someone by intervening. Daum is doing audio engineering in LA the last I heard from him a few years ago.
I was partying back then, best time of my life, sticks and vicks were a thing, looking back, it was cheesy, but the comments are a nice touch to the memory. We didn't give a fuck back then and still don't
The vicks apparently when put on chest and back prolonged “rushes” whilst under the influence of ecstasy, or brought the “rushes” on. Hope I’m not being patronising here, it’s just someone has quoted they never understood the “vicks”. Peace.
Listen. Seriously. This mix actually sounds like being in San Francisco and at 1015 Folsom. The tracks, the mixing are all great. But to choose a selection of tracks that remind you of that city. Now that's another level.
Matt Johnson yes mate. Been to 1015 several times. Lived in the bay area too for a while. I know what you mean. To capture something of that city is pretty special! Big up.
I bought the Renaissance CD some years prior to this, which at the time I thought was fantastic. It wasn’t until I heard this that I realised just what a GOD Sasha is. This mix and the Ibiza 013 were life changing for me
Track # 4 by DJ SAKIN & FRIENDS one of da best tracks I've ever heard, still get chills everytime I listen to it, reminds me dat Dance music used to b so beautiful back in da 90s
Travel- Bulgarian ( incision remix) the base and synths are eargasmic!!! Stoned roof- everything not you ( quivver's space mix) this track is so dark and trippy takes you to a twilight zone and I love how this track transitions to the other which is Morgan page - I'm free William orbit remix!! From the bongo congos following the bass and kick drums and then comes the synths!!! These producers were seriously on some acid and shrooms psychedelics to create this kind of sound. So original and tribal, progressive and Sasha mixing them so well he really brought emotions out of the tracks and meaning to them!
You said it! Best part of the set. The tracks alone are great, but you can tell a great trance mix, it will blend them into something magical. By the time you get to the last track Anomaly, you feel like you've been transported to another place in time.
Used to walk to school with this on the Sony Discman in 98/99/00. Constant rotation with this, Picotto - Lizard Man, Oakenfold - Oslo, sometimes some Judge Jules radio shows on tape from the radio. This was always the best though. Transcendent!
I remember visiting my brother in college when I was 16, somewhere around 1999... I think it started out with some tokes off of a bong him and his roommates called “long bong silver.” Either way I couldn’t move afterwards - so him and his roommates put this on, me not knowing anything about any sort of electronic genre. Fuck me, I will never, ever forget it. Thumping in my chest, transitioning from one thing to the next. Hooked ever since...
I remember buying this when it was first released and playing it when I got in after an all nighter in some sweaty club somewhere, and I always played CD 1with it's wonderful warm up of trippy twists and turns.. nobody touched him in those days..just my opinion of course.😉🙏💓

After 21 years , you still surprise me everytime I listen this amazing mix... You always turn me on Sasha... I have too many reasons to have you in my heart... I love you
2020 who's with me? Still a good one. It was one of my favorite albums
2023...2 days to 2024.... still here!
I luv the intricacies in the background from the echoing effect and the small meticulous sounds that flow magically!!! The transitions are amazing👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾🙌🏾👍
nas rahim It’s magical isn’t it, like a mesmeric spell, just flows seamlessly.
My very first Global Underground double CD. And one of my favorites to this day.
La calidad de las mezclas y el ritmo hacen que este sea de mis sets favoritos, creo que Sasha en este trabajo confirmó porque es uno de los mejores DJ's
this is my "move to Sydney" cd....fucking brilliance...just a fantastic set and i listened to this on repeat for at least a year non stop...yummy.music
DJ Sakin & Friends -- Protect Your Mind (Van Bellen Remix) Highlight of the mix for me. so sweet and airy.
where he takes us from Travel-Bulgarian thru the beginning of Anomaly, seems like planet hopping in space.

"A true masterpiece mixed during the days where trance DJs were trying to out-trance each other with anthems."
ahahaha. Trance battle royale! Love it.
20 years on and it still sounds amazing, they don't make em like this anymore.
Bought every track on this cd and tried to recreate it with my belt drive turntables 😂🤣
laughing aside..... belt drives have a much smoother sound... if only anyone could control them for more than a minute :)
They put the whole mix through pro Tools. Lol
🤣🤣🤣 👍👌🙏🙏💚
Still have this gem!! Man the memories!! Sasha Ibiza at its finest!!
Geeze if this ain’t the best GU album, it’s bloody damn close!
Global underground/arrivals/departures have some of the best mixes ever produced, this is up there as one of the best. Dreamily hypnotic. Tracks by Travel and stone proof, love them.
Just got back from a trip and landed at LHR.. my girlfriend had picked this up for me at the terminal at LHR.... never been so excited to get an album on.... amazing to this day!
Bought this on CD when it came out. Still a quality mix.
Used to lay this back to back in my Rs 500 back in the day. Memories 😊
This is the first progressive house session I ever heard back in 04 in my dorm room in Milwaukee. good shit fuckin classic. I was hooked like a fiend.
soak... Leeds corn exchange 92 first time I saw this guy him and Mike Pickering but I would say at this particular time he really was at the top off is game he is the genuine article him diggers and cox probably the best three Djs the uk as ever produced
❤❤ fantastico 🤣😍🤣🤣 ottima musica 😍💞💞
I know America invented it all ie House-Chicago, Garage-New York, Techno-Detroit, but just love how Britain embraced it and did a better job than Underground America of distributing and championing this awesome music to the rest of the world. Peace.
If you mean by better ,selling and letting corporate take this sacred underground music a pollute it with there festivals and terrible EDM. Then yeah you Brits have done a great job.
@@twotofourstudios224 🤣🤣🤣🤣👍🙄

Dance music isn't a competition. America and the UK both deserve credit. Late 60s and 70s NYC to Chicago to Detroit then UK. A lot of American ravers in the 90s greatly influenced by the UK scene/music. You need both places.
In UK you had to be rich to listen to prog house
Is a class thing
This was the soundtrack to my youth. Even now it amazes me how @ 4.40 bang on the money the hairs on the back of my kneck tingle soon as those pad chords kick in.😚
Clubbing will never be the same again. Ever.
How true mate. Its was bliss up until about 2007.....now it is completely different
That Quivver remix around 55' never fails to blow me away. Prog at its most subversive and serene.
duketranslucent3rd and the track right before ..
Wasn't only a remix. Stoneproof was Quivver's project. That's him on vocals. John Graham is the man.
@@multiversechorus Totally. Talented guy all round. Loved his vocals with Planet Funk, too - great fit.
I remember listening to this CD on my way to Space in Miami after working my bartending job in Y2K. The memories it brings of dancing in the patio at 9 am on a Sunday.
@@multiversechorus he is indeed the man. I landed back on this from going back down the Graham rabbit hole after his new album release on Bedrock. It's a great album, heard it yet?
Can't believe it's been almost 20 years good shit
This mix never ages
you can listen these tracks separately one by one, and yep they are nice
but man, Sasha is creating something new here which cannot be found in the tracks individually
I mean it's like Dumbledore is creating magic with his wand and here Sasha's wand is these tracks
Nicely put
This first cd of his GU San Fran is one of the best mixes he ever did. Oozes quality and his unique magic silky touch.
Dec 2022 .. this is prolly the BEST Global underground Mix .. out the whole fucking series - Deep reverb / Noise Drone from SF Vagabonds to FreekyChakra still haunting me .. truely transcendental.
What submarine
Freaky Charkra after all this time still sends chills, TUNE!
i used to tease him about liking heavy metal and threw extra newspapers at his house where he had a drum set. He later said i helped get him into electronic music. He once jumped on the stage at Front 242. bahaha Daum
Daum is doing audio engineering in LA the last I heard from him a few years ago.
vicks, glow sticks, map points, and hot chicks. yeah I remember this stuff. underground parties in the warehouse district and shit.
never understood the vicks
stick the glow stick up yer arse!
mat bostock LOL along with the vicks
I was partying back then, best time of my life, sticks and vicks were a thing, looking back, it was cheesy, but the comments are a nice touch to the memory. We didn't give a fuck back then and still don't
The vicks apparently when put on chest and back prolonged “rushes” whilst under the influence of ecstasy, or brought the “rushes” on. Hope I’m not being patronising here, it’s just someone has quoted they never understood the “vicks”. Peace.
track 10 to the end . always gets me . soul to bare is awsome . the whole thing was awesome
Robert redmond totally agree.stunnng joi Caldwell !!!!
Fucking awesome tune innit. I always rewind this mix. Its a real creeper, builds to the point of getting shivers then... well you know the rest
Robert - yes, yes, YES!
track 7 to end is the best 30 min mix set i hear in my 30 years i hear this music
1998-2022- It Still Keeps On Rockin!!!
Listen. Seriously.
This mix actually sounds like being in San Francisco and at 1015 Folsom.
The tracks, the mixing are all great. But to choose a selection of tracks that remind you of that city. Now that's another level.
+Matt Johnson 1015 was amazing, spent two summers in SF, got there on the second year as I was finally 21. Never got to see Sasha there though
+Irishyoutubersince2006 Don't ever wish your life away. It's over before you know it! Take care.
This mix and the Ibiza 013 were life changing for me
Tony Look up all the songs by Blue Amazon like "No Other Love", "And Then the Rain Falls", "blue amazon paradise regime" Thank me later!!
one of the best mixes ever
What a spirit...
The bible of progressive dance music 🎶🙏🏻❤️
Track # 4 by DJ SAKIN & FRIENDS one of da best tracks I've ever heard, still get chills everytime I listen to it, reminds me dat Dance music used to b so beautiful back in da 90s
This never gets old…. My first experience with electronic music literally. Change my life forever. 💙💙💙
Those were the days
This & Digweed Los Angeles.
Pretty much perfect dance music. Perfect music.
beyond Imaginary ,,,,,,MAGIC!
escapism
TRAVELING THE WORLD WITH SPEED OF SOUND !
Bulgarian - into - Soul To Bare - into - Everything's Not You is one of the best sequences ever.
YESSSSS!!! iIt's the clip i keep coming back to. So fuckin' good.
Pure magic.
Sasha at His BEST !!!!
Was listening to this loud in the car ! What a beat! Best cut!
And then.....that sets me on fire. Awesome summary bro, on point!!
Used to walk to school with this on the Sony Discman in 98/99/00. Constant rotation with this, Picotto - Lizard Man, Oakenfold - Oslo, sometimes some Judge Jules radio shows on tape from the radio. This was always the best though. Transcendent!
The cure project
One of the best albums of 1998!!
FACTS
Wonderful!!!
This is already into its 21st year. Funny how time is. Time will be the last thing that will stand in this universe.
Its Sasha, all you need to know!
Still the best mix I've ever heard.
I think this is the best GU release EVER ! number 2 is John Digweed LA
This brings back some memories.this mix is legend
