Whenever someone tries to say that DJ’s aren’t real musicians or that drum machines have no soul, this is what breaks the stereotype. This is on par with the genius composers. A true sonic journey for the discerning audiophile.

Wholeheartedly agree!!! These 2 are the epitome of DJ’s, even though this compilation is digitally mixed, the work that goes into it by figuring out which song goes where, and having a good enough musical ear to know which songs to pick. I mean, Sasha and Digweed got a hold of a lot of these tracks before they were ever released to the public.
East and West coast will always be the pinnacle of which other DJ sets and complications will never hold a candle to.
This is the music played as you arrive in heaven.

NE2 is something very, very special. Dark yet exuberant, melancholic yet uplifting. Complex and beautiful. Was at the Sasha and Diggers NE2 night at Sugar Shack in Middlesbrough UK back in the late nineties. What a night that was. Danced like a maniac!

Such an incredible album.
Everyone always bangs on about Eastcoast being a-number 1 and all that jazz, but Westcoast is a monster and just as good in my opinion. Harder and darker but no less good!
Nah...this is The One. The former is a masterpiece, but only with the latter completing it. The East is the intro of the epic journey that transitions into an unbelievable emotional ride that is this disc.
They're completely different and both awesome - while I would love to hear both on a club system, this is the one I'd love to hear again in Twilo.
Westcoast is still played till this day ❤️

I've owned this record since 1999 and I must say this disc (also known as the EXPO 2 in the uk double disc edition) is among the most epic stuff ever mixed. Is simply epic, epic and more epic !!! The last half hour is an unbelievable rollercoaster.
The intensity build through to Solar Cycle, then release of Netherworld is something rather special

The mix for like 15 mins is just absolutely perfection. Goosebumps every time I listen to it. Used to blast it in the car and surround sound. Christ. Absolute belter. Sasha and digweed. Untouchable

Truely beautiful. It's not very often that music can be described as beautiful, but this is one of those rare opportunities. The legendary duo quite simply hand picked the best, highest grade of trance, from the connoisseurs of electronic music, and assembled those tracks into an epic ride of emotions. This is what trance was before it became shit. Before the big guns sold out, before Ibiza turned into scouseland. Oh what could've been..

Definitely one of the all time greatest trance mixes ever compiled. They were the first to expose the trance scene to North America....hence Northern Exposure. I even remember seeing Sasha in San Francisco for only $5 cover. No one knew who they were. Sasha & Digweed were always a pair. If Sasha is reading this, I was the one that gave him these Japanese cookies in WMC in Miami in 1999 / 2000 where he was spinning at a small club hosted by Spundae. Those were the memorable days for sure.

wow dude. I've seen these guys when they were in the early 90's. No names then. You listen to these northern exposures and it's like no other mixes. Music these days have no depth like they did then.

I bought this CD back in 1998 and listened to it dozens of times before I lost it in 2002. I had all the songs ripped as individual mp3s (big mistake) which I never played because the gaps between the songs were ruining the mix. This is the first time I've heard it since, and what an incredible ride... Thank you friend!

From 15:50 till 53:00, the set absolutely travels you to various feelings.. it is like a soundtrack of your own life situations... this is the magic of that music which we were listening that time and still never gets boring to listen after 2 decades... legendary music times...
My grand kids will know about this mix.

what a tune Netherworld was...in every version...for me the best track of all times...this hypnotic main sound is unreachable till today.

28Mins to 45mins. Christ. Have all the Sasha mixes but I think this might be the best of all of them in terms of baseline and build up. I wish I could hear this live with the two of them in a club - full effect. Magic, heaven. This is why I believe the 2 of them are untouchable. Pure genuis. BANGING -

I was lucky enough to attend a northern exsposure night absolutley mindblowing sasha got barricaded in the dj booth by the entire club at the end of the night and played for and extra hour and a half.
I was also privileged to attend northern exposure tour at cream Liverpool in the courtyard before it closed, I was in love next to those bass bins crying and paralysed for majority of night. haha what a night

It sounded like nothing else back then.
Over two decades later, I still enjoy it.
Diggers dj'ed in Newquay one Wednesday evening and the warm up dj for the club, brought him to a mates restaurant the following day for some food. Not long after, my mate (who's restaurant it was) received 3 VIP guest passes for the Launch night of NE 2 at Ministry. He invited me. Pretty cool night. I remember Sasha sticking Armin on as the last tune. I still have the guest pass in my drawer. Diggers wondered out to the dancefloor to greet my mate. How cool.

My favourite dance music mix cd I ever purchased. The opening track is just awesome and the 41 minute mark track is one of the best hands-in-the-air atmospheric euphoric build ups ever. Ahhh the 1990s...

A Masterpiece to say the least - Timeless classics to own which of course I'll mention ;) I remember getting these back in 1996/1997, NE 1(UK) on vinyl and 2CD (UK)
NE2 on 2CD (UK) and just about every track from NE2 on single vinyl apart from The Light - Panfried could never get that one ;(

I do not listen to trance nowadays, the genre lost it's identity and depth of emotions in the middle of 00's,god damn look at these tracks and all atmosphere of feelings that it gives to us, nobody can beat this mix,so smoothly and spotless transitions that only they would do, maybe neither Sasha and Digweed can do something close to this nowadays, it is too much ahead of it's time.

Back in the day when we had cd players in our cars .remember putting this cd on for the journey back from the opera house in Bournemouth back to Portsmouth and the three lads I had with me who were all known for talking for England didn't here a word from them till the cd finished .then each one said mate fucking going album
AH I still have this on CD it has traveled with me round the world & back.
I have enlightened many a hotel & poolside with this mix.
It also spent a lot of its life inside my Fiat Uno Turbo I owned in the mid to late 90's.
