Wait, I'm 36 and have a gen3 SDR, and a 1190 ADV-R (soon to be replaced by a 1290 SAR when available in the states). I prefer the Adventure bike because of it's flexibility to do and be fun at every style of riding. I only wish its motor was more aggressive like the super duke.
You need a SAR to go out and play , no boundaries , take dirt roads , pack your bags and spend 600km riding in one go like i did today. The SDR is just a beast you also need in your garage when you wanna go out an play. Pop wheelies and ride really sporty 😁. That’s when the SDR is most fun , when you really give it some gas. Would be awesome to have the engine of the R under a SAR , but i think it would be to much roughness for what that bike is made for 😁.
I bought an S a year ago. I took it to the grocery store today and on the way back I wondered how much more flickable a Super Duke would be. Yeah, I'm spoiled. I know. Anyhow that led me to your video. I like your presentation style. I didn't realize that the GT weighed so much more than the Super Duke. Going from the GT to the SAS isn't nearly as much. Did a 600km almost non stop ride today with my best friend on a Superduke R , offroad parts like really testing it out. I’m not even tired when i got home , no pain in my wrists or knees. You can sit back on the SAR seat and put your feet on the crashbars! So comfy haha. And most important is my ass!!! That GT would put me in lots of but pain after 300km , did almost 600 on the SAR and it’s like a 2 which i consider normal 😁. The only and really only thing is that the R is higher because of it’s offroad capability and it’s a little harder to manoeuvre at a standstill. But as far from that 👌❤️

I also fitted a Puig windshield on my SDGT but it isn’t so dark it is just Smokey 😂. It looks better in my opinion. You’re talking about comfort and there, the adventure wins big time. I don’t go with a bike like this on off road because I don’t wanna drop it and because my skills are poor . But I like gravel roads and soft off road trails where I could use a bike like the Adventure R but in fact I don’t go off-road with the GT. It simply is not suited for that kind of work. After this video, I certainly will test the Adventure R. Thanks for an excellent quick comparison between the two bikes👌

Well... I tried the SAS and the GT and compared. My impression is that the GT is far superior for on road fast riding. Much more precise and more options in out and mid-turn of corners. And the way the engine delivers the GT just rips more. So both engine and chassis is better for on road sporty riding in my honest opinion. And for active on road riding I got a slight pain in my wrist with the SAS. Probably because I like half a butt on seat and hang slightly over bars, and results in get some not so favorable pressure points on outside palm/wrist. Great review....loved 1290R. How much does it cost??
If used for every day, plus travel, which one is the best; GT, R, S,...?
ADV bikes are like SUVs, they do everything well, comfortably. Once you have an ADV, you’ll understand why so many owners say, if I only could have one bike, this would be it.
Well I sold my SDR 2020, was pain in everythere...I wanted do some touring , but later understood what mission immpossible. :D So GT more comfort or Adventure? :)
Adventure S is way more comfort as the GT by far. Adventure R has some extra stuff for offroad. 😁👌
But how does the GT compare with the new adventure s 🤔
Simple , the GT is a Superduke R with fenders and they changed the gearing just a tiny bit.
The Adventure S is just a smooth fast Cadillac on wheels with a more upright position. The GT has a more aggressive style of riding.
Add some Rox bar risers on the Super Duke, way more comfortable!

1290 adv R all day long
Wow, that crash!
wrong compaison should be the S version compred to duke NOT the adventure R
I don't know why I just have a bad feeling about this motorcycle the KTM 1290 Super Duke I mean I just have a feeling the quality sucks you're going to have a lot of problems with this motorcycle KTMs have a reputation for being garbage I want to like it for the performance but I'm not a motorcycle mechanic LOL Japanese bikes are bulletproof I just wish they would make one that's as exciting as this bike.
Would have been better if there is less drama...its good otherwise
"Can you hear the difference? I cant really hear the difference" Well bud thats cuz you removed the DB killer designed to protect your ears from extended damage and probably have been riding it without correct ear protection....
4once even muggenziften ;) : GT heeft 175 PK (ipv 170) en 145 Nm torque, die 5 paarden geef ik niet zomaar af ;)
Volledig gelijk!!
put the gt exhaust on the adventure.
Doesn't fit , the flens of the SAR is wayyyy bigger 😁
Wat was je aan het roepen als je crashte ? pardon pardon ?🤣🤣🤣
Foute boel 🙈

What are the differences... mmmm let me think. Oh year, adventure bike -- vs -- touring .
