I like how SnS covers just about everything beginners need to learn about; blocking, i-frames, it even has a built-in mounting attack if you don't have nearby elevation to jump from. But then it still manages to be one of the most OP weapons when you get to learn advanced moves like perfect rush
This is a good idea. A lot of weapon guides either barely describe a weapon vaguely or go way too in depth. This is a good balance of general info and combos to get you going without overwhelming or skimming over. Nice work!
To be fair, Dual Blades don't really have that high of a skill ceiling outside of dash juice drinking windows. But you can solve that with just running around corners and taking a few seconds. It's also worth noting that your dodge while in demon mode is made almost entirely of s and is spammable in that it doesn't have a wind down animation which allows DBs to survive otherwise hard-to-dodge moves like Velkhana's, Alatreon, or Fatalis's horizontal breathe attacks. You still need to plan your stam bar ahead of time so that you have enough to spam with, but what this allows you to do is to move the difficulty from one of split-second execution to a more macro-level planning and forethought one. That being said, DBs are probably the easiest to teach to absolute beginners to get them to a point of usefulness. That BB -> clutch Claw tenderise move is so underrated.
You’re not wrong! I consider anything that requires excellent positioning and timing to have a high skill ceiling tbh, just so happens with DBs there are plenty of very low commitment burst attacks, so not much is at stake if you mess it up unlike say GS
i find myself using sns alot and dying and then reaching for my new main hammer im yet to fail a elder dragon hunting quest with this weapon and it makes me happy seeing your opinion on it
Opposite for me lol. Main sns pretty much exclusively but I remember getting stuck early on in iceborne cuz of the big hp increase and used hammer for like a dozen hunts and I had more faints in those hunts than the whole time I played sns prior. Idk the fact you have to be glued to the monsters head isn't suited to my play style.
Hey LightItUpDan! I Love all your videos! Thank you for all the content! Sorry for the late reply. I noticed in your "Lifesteal" build you mention your love for both Hammer and Sword and Shield. So far, I am loving Sword and Shield but am now seriously considering Hammer. Would really appreciate your opinion and feedback on both. There are those who rank Sword and Shield in S tier and Hammer in A tier but others rank Hammer in S tier and Sword and Shield in A tier. You also have both listed in this video. Which is easier, in your opinion, to get through the main game and Iceborne? Having a hard time debating between the two. Thanks in advance and keep up the great work!
Hey bud, appreciate the kind words! They're both fantastic choices for beginners, with low skill floors and high skill ceilings. Either is going to be a great pick, I'd say mix between both and you'll find what works for you! As you learn the monsters more, you'll find you develop preferences for certain weapon match ups against them too
I just started and the charge blade is fun af, theres something about charging the sword and shield and doing the big axe swing down on the monster that feels so good
You didn't say what the 4th weapon IS...lol. what is it? I have never played a MH game, I know literally nothing about these games, and there seems to be a lot to learn, I didn't understand half the words you said 😅 Edit - ohh, you casually mentioned "lance," about 5 minutes into the explanation of this weapon, so it seems like that's what it is lol.

Appreciate you mate, so glad you thought so, it’s exactly what I was going for!!
As a new player here, the only thing that sucks is tall/flying monsters are a pain in the ass. Every time I hit a block I go back to sns or cb

tbh head’s the weak point and should be targeted by any weapon for the most part, but I take your point
Thank you for your video ive learn some new moves that i didnt even know exist lol
you're very welcome, that's why I make them! ✨

Y'all really gotta watch the full video before leaving comments lol (it also says what the weapon is on screen by the combo tracker)
I’m a new player I’ve been playing sns find it kinda boring tho idk what I’ll try next but I’ll update when i do know the game feels too easy
Welcome! Hmmm give Hammer a go and see if that scratches an itch instead?
Lightltupdan I'm right now mr 99 but I can't get the mr 99 quest so how can I get it
same as all the other cap increase quests you’ve done! it’ll be a special assignment from someone
thx@@LightItUpDan
New players should probably pick up longsword
It’s another great option yeah!
What is the best mid game build in iceborne
That’s gonna depend on your weapon, what decos you’ve got access to, if you favour offence or defence
