@@landengilberti2480 i tryd with thiollier a few times until i chose to do it alone because he wasnt coming inside the boss arena. I beated the boss alone and i was able to collect his armor set after resting at a grace in the boss arena
@@Kevvv890k Thiollier is absolutely useless. Summon Ansbach if you want to, but Thiollier just means Boss has more HP while he himself does absolutely no damage at all.
if you pulled the lever before getting to the fourth floor here’s what you can do: spawn at the grace that has freya and go down the stairs right in front of the spawn. it’ll be one flight of stairs and then you go right to swing around those and there will be another flight going down again and then keep going forward passed one of the fire knights, through a pathway that gets narrow right after the knight and then shortly after that you’ll see a doorway to your left with bats right outside and if you head right after that you’ll see the stairs going down to the fourth floor and then go back and go down further passed another fire knight, down more stairs and there you’ll find the grace and cross

they are more like randomized egg hunts. You don't know where to look, nobody tells you you have to go to a place you have previously been. You don't really know who you have to talk to for a quest, like in this case leda, she had nothing to do with the quest, yet she is somehow involved in it. It's just lazy design tbh. You just go back and forth and hope you progress.

PSA: I found Sir Ansbach's summon sign in the first floor right AFTER burning the tree, then I went and spoke to Leda, found new dialogue about how he couldn't be trusted, then went ahead to the first floor and saw the 2 signs in his last location. I don't know if other people's attempts are the same or differ, but if you tried everything else, this could be it. Hope this helps.
U should have done all this before burning the tree so u could get both rewards after encountering them in the final two bosses. U haven’t fully messed up but I believe u can’t get all rewards, just one depending on who u help
@levampblaze6312 so basically I burnt the shadow tree before I began his quest, and once you burn the shadow tree it locks you out from multiple npc quests, so because I burnt the tree before talking to him , he disappeared and i couldn't summon him during the final boss
@@bigchinbrother9069 I’ll give fromsoft props for a lot, but their esoteric, very vaguely explained quests have always been fucking atrocious. Basically can’t do them without following a Wiki, which I didn’t want to have to do my first playthrough of the DLC. Because of this choice, I’m now finding out that I’ve locked myself out of a lot of quests and rewards. Don’t really want to have to go into NG+3 to do it all over again.
@levampblaze6312 If you still need it explained, basically if you unlock the final area of the map via defeating Romina and using Messmer's Kindling, you are locked out of the NPC quests.
Once you give Ansbach the scroll and exhaust his dialogue, you can just reload the area via quitting out to receive the letter, there’s no need to go and talk to Leda.

Leda has her own quest that triggers summons fights. 2 that im aware of now against hornsent and ansbach!!! You get to choose who to side with!!! Read my comment above
I went back to where ansbach was standing and he was gone but there was a summon sighn that let me join a fight between ansbach and leda. For helping ansbach i recieved ansbach's bow

Update only took like a minute to kill him, that bow hits hard an he shoots fast lol. I also got the bow an his armour. Same rewards I guess??? That sucks lol was hoping for different rewards, because he definitely cooler than the girl.
@@killtality8066 there are different rewards! If you help Leda go back and speak with her after the invasion and you get a new talisman doing so locks you out of a spell you get from ansbach after he helps with the final boss

suggest thiollier does nothing. she just says nah hes kool. Suggesting Hornsent triggers a summons fight in the shadow keep and you have to choose sides. If u choose Leda you get all of Hornsents gear. Then go bk n talk to Leda and she decides to kill Ansbach next. Do this quest in the vid and when Ansbach disappears you will get another summons fight and have to choose sides!!!

Nah hes gettin bodied right now. This fool failed to mention this quest is tied with Ledas quest I killed hornsent with her and got all his gear and about to kill Ansbach aswell and prob gettin all his gear!!! Read up top for my comment on how to do this quest properly if you want weapons n gear!!! Ledas the boss my boi Ansbach a washed up old man and needs to be put down lol!!!!
@samnyce I don't know about you, but Ansbach is the only one who had my back when I got jumped by Leda and her goons. He damn near killed Leda by himself. Besides, I still got all their gear at the end.

After you give Ansbach Freyja's letter, he responds, you go back to the grace but once going back to where Ansbach is, you have a choice, help Freyja or Ansbach. That information is left out of this video. So which is it?? Help Ansbach or Freyja?? Guess it's up to you where you want your quest to go. Still a great video/tutorial on this part. Helped me out a bunch. Thanks :)
You missed a step right before burning the tree. After both ansbach and freyja are gone you need to reload the area where ansbach was. He left a gold summons for you and you need to aid him in a fight against leda. No idea if that's required for the questline but better do it to make sure

I don’t know if this only applies after the patch but you can still complete these side quests after you burn the tree. I just did Thollier’s and Ansbach’s quests after I used Mesmer’s Kindling.
Damn this is what I get for not looking it up online first lol. I never found Freya but I have the Freya letter because I found the scroll. But then I turned around and assisted Leda in taking him out. I also helped her take out this other dude that drops this backhanded blade. I need to make a note of all the quests I accidentally missed out on
Note for the early questline if niether of them are in Shadow Keep: After the Great Rune is broken just outside the Shadow Keep, talk to Ansbach and Freyja about the event. Exhaust both of their dialogues completely and then rest at a grace to move them forward, they should now be in Shadow Keep.
IF Ansbach is gone but there are no summon signs, it’s possible that Leda is focusing on a DIFFERENT PERSON. Specifically, from the golden hippo grace, go out the right door (it might need to be opened from the other side first) go up the stairs, and immediately to the right, look on the ground for summon signs. Use the red one, and after this is complete, go talk to Leda again, exhaust dialog, and THEN go check where Ansbach used to be
You can get his bow an armour back at the first place you talked to him, but if you beat the dlc I don't think you'll be able to get it... But go back to the first spot an should be two summon signs one red one gold, so far from what i know 100% the red summon will give you his stuff idk about the gold
This might help: I initially gave the scroll to Ansbach, like many others. I thought I had locked myself out of Freyja’s quest because I hadn't spoken to her in the Storehouse. I decided that if I avoided fast traveling with Sites of Grace, I might trigger Ansbach's dialogue to receive the "Letter for Freyja." I walked from Ansbach (after giving him the scroll) all the way to the 7th Floor to talk to Freyja and start her quest. Then, I walked back down, and voilà, Ansbach was still there and gave me Freyja’s letter! :)
Thanks for the walkthrough. Also even if you burn the shadow tree you can still complete both Thollier and Ansbachs questline and get them as summons. The only way to lock yourself out of ansbach is if you kill him or do not give him the scroll.

Once you get to the final boss you don’t have to summon him to progress the quest, I would recommend not summoning him as doing so scales the bosses health along with the other quest npc doing the same making the fight far more difficult
Not sure if it's still relevant to you but from what I'm aware of you don't need to summon him and you can find his corpse in the final boss arena to get his loot
NOTE: If you give Freyja the letter, she will fight against you. And join Leda’s side. However if you want her shield, you have to give her the letter. But if she doesn’t get the letter, she’ll fight alongside you
So mine was out of order, i didnt know what to do w them and i killed mesmer and thats when i gave him the scroll and i got pretty much most dialogue except the letter. I did find a letter on the site of grace w michellas cross saying i think leda going to rauh bridge but i have no idea how to get there or where it is
I was able to do the questlines after already burning the tree, I think its because I had not yet confronted leda at Enir-Ilim yet. so thats great to know.
I aided Hornsent during the leda questline now i did all the Sir Ansbach quest but when leda comes for him , they just disappeared ? no summon signs at all as well as freya
I can't suggest the hornsent. But I did the other steps before it. Continued with the other steps, theres a red summon sign to assist Leda. And a gold summon sign to assist Ansbach. What do I do? And how do I burn the erdree in the dlc?
@@bmj2k7 defeat messmer for an item known as "messmer's kindling" and then go to the church of the saint of bud (or whatever it is I might be wrong) then defeat romina and after that youll be able to burn the tree
So for the give letter to Freyja part. If I killed her before this step am I softlocked? I heard you don’t need her and got tired of her annoying dialogue.
Try to go to the church of inhibition in the normal World. There is a big statue where you can give her a tear and it will grand you absolution. Maybe she will be alive after that

can i still get ansbachs armor after killing radahn? i tried finding and looting his body like the few of the NPCs i was able to find. but i cannot find his anyone know?

When I went back to ansbach location he was gone, but I found a reverse summon sign to help leda fight against ansbach and I went in and we killed ansbach together. Did I ruin the questline?

Wait the 2nd npc Thiollier has already been defeated by me. They are now lying near St. Trina. Can I still summon her during last boss battle?
Eat St Trina’s nectar until she tells you to kill miquella, then tell that to thiollier, reset site of grace, and if thiollier is saying “A-ah” you will be able to summon them
Hm so after checking to see if ansbach was gone from the shadow keep I found a gold and a red summon sign for him and Freya down there. So. Do I ignore that for now or what

Its a FromSoft quest line. If you don't do exactly what they expect you to do 100% of the way through, you 'fail' their quest.

Use the red one, and after this is complete, go talk to Leda again, exhaust dialog, and THEN go check where Ansbach used to be
Okay but when and where do we get Ansbach's armor set ? That's what i really wanna know
You can get his bow an armour back at the first place you talked to him, but if you beat the dlc I don't think you'll be able to get it... But go back to the first spot an should be two summon signs one red one gold, so far from what i know 100% the red summon will give you his stuff idk about the gold

This might help: I initially gave the scroll to Ansbach, like many others. I thought I had locked myself out of Freyja’s quest because I hadn't spoken to her in the Storehouse. I decided that if I avoided fast traveling with Sites of Grace, I might trigger Ansbach's dialogue to receive the "Letter for Freyja."
I walked from Ansbach (after giving him the scroll) all the way to the 7th Floor to talk to Freyja and start her quest. Then, I walked back down, and voilà, Ansbach was still there and gave me Freyja’s letter! :)
Thanks for the walkthrough. Also even if you burn the shadow tree you can still complete both Thollier and Ansbachs questline and get them as summons. The only way to lock yourself out of ansbach is if you kill him or do not give him the scroll.

You can buy a lantern from a nomadic merchant in the weeping peninsula, it helps to light up dark areas

@@all149 hey figured it out. spawn at the grace that has freya and go down the stairs right in front of the spawn. it’ll be one flight of stairs and then you go right to swing around those and there will be another flight going down again and then keep going forward passed one of the fire knights, through a pathway that gets narrow right after the knight and then shortly after that you’ll see a doorway to your left with bats right outside and if you head right after that you’ll see the stairs going down to the fourth floor and then go back and go down further and you’ll see more stairs going down to the grace and a cross
If I gave the scroll to Ansbach first and didn't talk to him about Freyja does this affect the quest?

Yes
Once you get to the final boss you don’t have to summon him to progress the quest, I would recommend not summoning him as doing so scales the bosses health along with the other quest npc doing the same making the fight far more difficult
I'd say using the npc summons makes the last boss fight harder. I'd suggest just doing it with ur personal summon and no one else

Not sure if it's still relevant to you but from what I'm aware of you don't need to summon him and you can find his corpse in the final boss arena to get his loot

NOTE: If you give Freyja the letter, she will fight against you. And join Leda’s side. However if you want her shield, you have to give her the letter. But if she doesn’t get the letter, she’ll fight alongside you

So mine was out of order, i didnt know what to do w them and i killed mesmer and thats when i gave him the scroll and i got pretty much most dialogue except the letter.
I did find a letter on the site of grace w michellas cross saying i think leda going to rauh bridge but i have no idea how to get there or where it is
I was able to do the questlines after already burning the tree, I think its because I had not yet confronted leda at Enir-Ilim yet. so thats great to know.

I aided Hornsent during the leda questline now i did all the Sir Ansbach quest but when leda comes for him , they just disappeared ? no summon signs at all as well as freya

I can't suggest the hornsent. But I did the other steps before it. Continued with the other steps, theres a red summon sign to assist Leda. And a gold summon sign to assist Ansbach. What do I do? And how do I burn the erdree in the dlc?
@@bmj2k7 defeat messmer for an item known as "messmer's kindling" and then go to the church of the saint of bud (or whatever it is I might be wrong) then defeat romina and after that youll be able to burn the tree

No you need to complete his quest for that

Try to go to the church of inhibition in the normal World. There is a big statue where you can give her a tear and it will grand you absolution. Maybe she will be alive after that

When I went back to ansbach location he was gone, but I found a reverse summon sign to help leda fight against ansbach and I went in and we killed ansbach together. Did I ruin the questline?
@@beatsmithx1090 yes, there was also an option to help ansbach which you must have missed, if you helped him you wouldn't have ruined it
@@Shadowphoenix_11 I reloaded my old save and I helped ansbach instead, which eventually made leda, freyja, honset and one other guy my enemies. Now I'm trying to kill radhan and my only partner is ansbach. I heard you're supposed to have multiple partners in the radhan fight
there's bug that no option for "Tell freyja's decision",and only show "Give scroll"

for me, instead of giving me the option to pass on freja's message, it gave me two summoning signs, one to be summoned to help leda, and another to help sir ansbach, idk what i did wrong

Eat St Trina’s nectar until she tells you to kill miquella, then tell that to thiollier, reset site of grace, and if thiollier is saying “A-ah” you will be able to summon them

Hm so after checking to see if ansbach was gone from the shadow keep I found a gold and a red summon sign for him and Freya down there. So. Do I ignore that for now or what
