I’d check the glow plugs/harness itself to make sure they aren’t shorted, also make sure the relay is actually gettin a signal to activate from the PCM
I tested the resistance of all 8 and they checked out fine, none shorted to ground. The high current draw was due to the bad contacts within the relay itself causing excess heat and thus the shrink tubing on the relay terminal to melt.
I don’t quite know what you are referring to. The tiny wires are just signal wires so they are supposed to be small and the power wires are OEM so they are the size Ford/International intended so there’s no reason to upsize them
Nice relay
I found that relay over the weekend after a buddy recommend it -10 was a pain to get my truck started even with the block heater plugged in

what mods you have done ?
It’s mostly stock, just a S&B intake and a billet wheel in the turbo.
The smoke is caused by too much current draw. The relay is fine. You have one or more bad glow plugs.

Make new wire ! Don’t replace electrical devices and use the small to small wire to begin with! $$$ now or later on the road .
