Leslye Headland: The Dark Side's Personal Acolyte

- Following the release of the ground breaking Acolyte trailer, director Leslye Headland has had a lot to say about herself, the show and Star Wars in general.
Join me as we discuss Leslye Headland and why her new project The Acolyte is unlikely to be very good. - ภาพยนตร์และแอนิเมชัน
I remember my grandmother saying to me, "I don't care what they tell you in school Leslye Headland was Black."
The Headlands built the pyramids.
BEAUTIFUL! Yes. She has a black heart!
😂you are wrong for that 😂
Has she visited Weinstien in prison yet? She owes all she knows to him.
WOKE ACTIVISTS SKIP THEM.
Headland is in love with the attention. She craves the spotlight. The product is not important. Only the credit. The acclaim. The praise. She knows very well her stuff is unpopular and will lose other people's money. But as long as she wins acclaim from all the right people and attends all the right cocktail parties, she's good. Headland is 2 dimensional, uncreative, uninspiring, and incompetent. But she checks all the right boxes and pushes all the right messages. And to the current Disney management team, that is paramount.
"Paramount" means "most important".
I would quibble the point that the things you/the OP mentioned are not "paramount"... but the *only* things that matter.
Perfectly worded. I wish I could give your comment ten likes.
WOKE GARBAGE.
No man has ever looked twice at Headland, and she's making up for that lack of attention now.
That's the sad truth behind her identifying as lesbian, her hatred of men, and why her message resonates with so many similarly obese dropkicks out there, including Disney's management team.
She is a complete narcissist and probably borderline a sociopath. If the show fails and she pisses of the fans, that's a victory for her. More attention for her ego.
Whenever Leslye talks about Star Wars, she sounds so phoney.
Because she is.
And stupid
And when she NEVER mentions Harvey she sounds like she enabled him.
Whenever someone says, “I want to see myself in this…” you know it’ll be self indulgent crap.
And whenever someone says, they're "updating" a beloved thing for "the Modern Audience" you just know it's DEI crap.
basically self-insert characters, and the same want to tell "their" story, not a SW story
Apparently she used to write Star Wars fan fiction.
As the CRITICAL DRINKER would say: "At this point, hearing about STAR WARS is like getting a letter from an X girlfriend who gained 50 pounds. There's a mild interest. But you just don't care anymore."
Facts. The last DisneyWars movie had me laughing at the screen..the stupid plot absurdities..the wasted moments and characters.. Stupid beyond all comprehension..
@@aaronhumphrey2009 Yea. It's sad. Giving the positive some time, I just re-watched the 1980 FLASH GORDON. And I'm not going to fool around on this one. That was a 10/10 masterpiece that slams DISNEY SW with one hand tied behind its back! ✝
Disney should've called it Star Wars:The Narcissist 😂🤣
Well, it's obvious why she was safe from Harvey, and I'm not talking about her "preferences", either.
Almost....the narcissithssss

To me, it seems like some people were angry that a certain group were having fun, and they wanted to ruin that fun. Video games, fantasies, sci fi, comics. The things that used to be enjoyed by a few. The things that used to be uncool to the mainstream. Someone says, hey lets ruin their fun. Why should they be allowed to enjoy themselves when we aren't 🤔
I think that you are exactly right... about the motive of some of these people.
"Misery loves company"... and they really want to spread it.
The word your looking for is mysandry. They hate it because men enjoy.
I never met a singke girl who liked comics other than Archie comics.

Bow these mean girls are in charge of the stuff. Its bullying all over qgain. Same with games.
Its insane.
I have been thinking this also. They are miserable, talentless hacks. They just seem to enjoy trashing everything that is enjoyed by others. They are disgusting people.

When she refused to name a favorite Star Wars movie, it sounded to me like she didn't want to name one of Lucas's films because that would go against "the message" of her movies and the corporate culture that she had built around them. In other words, she would come across as a hypocrite to her co-workers. And, of course, she didn't want to name any of the new ones because that would just be ridiculous and would undoubtedly upset the fans. She played it safe.
Exactly, her answer was so fake. Did you see the expression of her face when she finished answering that question? Scary stuff.
Well, it sounded to me like she was put on the spot at that point and honestly, deep down didn't know the titles of any Starwars Movies because she had never seen any before, when she was asked that. I don't believe one iota that Leslie Headland is even a Starwars fan, i think she's just well aware of how it's like the biggest movie franchise in history, she had obviously heard of it growing up but i don't believe she was ever interested in it. The way she answers that question of which one is her favorite movie was a non-answer, the kind someone gives when they've never seen any.
You think? Cause it's seems to me that she didn't mention none Star Wars'films because she never saw none of them, and now she pretending that she did. That's why she wants other persons which never saw none of them either. If she truly was a star Wars fan as she proclaims, at least she would hire people who pervious have seen at least one of the triology created by George.

If Leslye understood Star wars, hell if Disney understood it, they'd get that the dark side (evil, imbalance) as George depicted it is poison to a healthy body
They are literally the darkside themselves.
Exactly. Disney never understood the force or the dark side specifically. They think it's just something you can switch on and off at a whim, but in reality it's extremely corrupting, drastically changing your appearance and personality. It's so intoxicating that turning someone from the dark side is virtually impossible. Basically an all consuming narcotic for force users. In the case of Darth Vader it took his son getting slowly electrocuted to death while he watched to pull him back to the light side.
A Dark-Side story is not the issue. That’s not the problem. We’ve had Sith stories before. People act like there’s no such thing as a Darth Plagueis novel or Darth Bane trilogy, or the Old Republic’s Sith storyline.
The problem is identity politics.
@@MikaelLV True, we have had a good selection of dark side stories. My point was that those understood what the dark side was.. yeah identity politics is a problem with Disney's writing, but it's pretty clear they think that balance in star wars is some twisted Ying-Yang with as much evil as you have good.

Can you imagine Denis Villenueve (for example) taking this "fake it til you make it" BS stance? Can you imagine Hollywood accepting it and buying it while she gets a pass for basically saying "Yeah, I have no idea what I'm doing." Denis has lived and breathed storytelling since he was a kid. Meanwhile, Leslye Headland....
This is what equity does. It elevates u on your characteristics NOT your raw talent.
Welcome to DEI! In the end, we’ll be lucky to keep indoor plumbing.
I think Denis actually took this stance... Sorry to say but he s a scammer. His movies are shallow as f. No life in it. He s not an artist, just a craftman. A sub Nolan and Nolan is not that good either...
There definitely seems to be an attitude in storytelling/filmmaking these days that’s more out of spite because of a personal grievance rather than out of love for movies/TV as entertainment.
Well, it's really just a deep rooted spite toward "Pop Culture Fandom", us NERDS! Because we have ALWAYS just been able to stay out of *Socio Politics*, we've ALWAYS been able to ESCAPE all of that crap, and these people they know that! This is why they've invaded our pop culture now, because it's the only way they can push their *Agenda* not just onto us, but onto our kids, onto the youngsters who also get into all this nerd stuff and pop culture that we love and pass on.
This is all about "Social Engineering" young minds, that's what WOKE ideology is.

@@MrYuck-ec5do- Never heard Oprah apologize either.
1:31 That cow camo jumpsuit fits her.

Agreed. I am so tired of having a villain that is just misunderstood and they could be good guys on the inside. Just make "an evil, I don't give an eff if innocent people get hurt and I eat children with no remorse of forgiveness" villain.
I loved the High Evolutionary in Guardians Vol 3 exactly for that, he's just evil, all he does
Kingpin from the Spiderverse is best example a tragic villain who is still depicted in a villainous light despite his past and goal.
Harvey wasn't evil, he just adore women in specific ways, and his personal assistant was totally fine with that.
“It isn’t about good and evil, it’s about power and who get’s to use it”. That line could have come straight out of the mouths of Hitler, David Duke, Mao and Pol Pot etc. The language of serial killers/mass murders.
A Dark-Side story is not the issue. That’s not the problem. We’ve had Sith stories before. People act like there’s no such thing as a Darth Plagueis novel or Darth Bane trilogy, or the Old Republic’s Sith storyline.
The problem is identity politics.
This is a fantastic video that sums up the Headland problem in a clear and concise way that others have missed. Headland is an easy target but it’s not just a case of blaming female empowerment, Weinstein or LGBTQIA+ etc, it’s about someone being given such a huge job despite being woefully under qualified and without an understanding of the basic requirements. Kennedy has put social ideology above entertainment and this appointment will be the final nail in Lucasfilm’s coffin.
And that's at a MINIMUM. But you ALSO have all that other stuff. She's the Ghislaine Maxwell of Hollywood. The problem is that there are no concrete examples of "evil women" in history. There are tons of "evil men" so people are well aware that men can be evil. When looking at women though, women are never looked at within the shadow of the evil they commit. They're always given the benefit of every doubt and you never think they're as bad as they are.
The phenomenon where an indie director gets to make a Star Wars film is a bad trend to be sure, but at least the projects that went before were effects heavy in the service of the story-telling.
Gareth Edwards had directed the SFX-heavy “Monsters” in 2010. Rian Johnson had directed the sci-fi futuristic “Looper” in 2012. They were world-building on a small budget in the same general genre at least.
Also, Leslye Headland does not think she needs to follow the rules of canon or the lore. That is why fans are so upset.
What she is offering is warmed-over, under-developed, inauthentic cosplay, and fans can just see it a mile away.
Carrie Ann Moss is not supposed to be doing Wu Ping-style wire-fu in the Star Wars universe. It’s like casting Chris Pine or William Shatner in a Star Wars spinoff. It’s just distracting and wrong and shows the fan base in a split second that the showrunner just doesn’t care about taking it seriously.
For someone to say that her own ignorance and lack of preparation or passion is an asset and a benefit when it is not, is another red flag.
Knowing how things are and how they work is the price of admission and a starting point and a crucial element.
Negative fan reaction is not trolling, it’s taking umbrage at being insulted at this person trying to sell them a bill of goods. “Your eyes can deceive you?” That’s gaslighting. “It’s not about good and evil?” That just shows that this person doesn’t understand the universe she is casually ret-conning, at all.

How many lambs has she lead to the slaughter? This is about pure evil.

I am reminded of when she refused to name a favorite Star Wars movie, and then in another interview she says how Star Wars saved her life (adding crocodile tears for effect.) This tells me she's never been a fan of Star Wars, and most likely never even saw any of the movies. Also let's not forget she is trying to brainwash the audience with her "fake it till you make it" approach at film making (which she admitting to doing on her first film). Also, her incompetence is on full display when she said that the Acolyte will be based on Frozen, Kill Bill and the Matrix. How exactly are these 3 films in any way linked to the Star Wars universe? And let's hire a writer for the Acolyte that knows nothing about the source material. Honestly after seeing Carrie Ann Moss using Kung Fu instead of a light saber, maybe they should call this film "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Jedi." Leslye Highland wants everyone to just accept that the Acolyte will be the most amazing thing ever produced. And also make sure everyone knows that it was made by women for women first and foremost. Oh......and men can also watch it only if they want to. Most importantly, you can't critique it in a bad way and if you do then you are labeled as the "toxic male demographic." The Acolyte has the making of what's sure to be a multi seasonal crapfest. I won't waste my time or money watching the mediocre agenda driven content that Disney is only known for.
The reason Headland does not have a favorite Star Wars movie is that naming one of them would be admitting to standards. A few years ago in the UK, one of the outgoing government Ministers left a note (true) on his desk for the new party's Minister saying "There's no money left, we have spent it all" and that is what is happening here: spend it all on the message before we get kicked out... rocket science it's not!
They didn't spend it all. They gave it to the bankers. Deficit etc was actually pretty good til the '07/'08 banking crisis. Then the tories came in with 14 years of 'austerity' (i.e. outsourcing everything, transferring public wealth to private) and now we're even worse off.
I suggest that she has not watched the movies.
Respect, or more specifically the lack there of. This is what I feel is missing with so many of these "Directors" who seeing the source material seem to hold it in disdain.
Denis Villeneuve - Arrival (2016) When asked what he thought, Ted Chiang responded: I was very happy with "Arrival"; I think it works well both as a film on its own terms, and as an adaptation of my story. While it differs from my story in significant ways, it captures the emotional core of the story, which is all I wanted from an adaptation."
Man, we really, REALLY, don’t need another reeva situation
I thought I was a racist snd misogynist until I learned a word that defines DIZNEE to a "T" Misandry which is the same as misogynist but only applied to men.
Given her history and who she worked -- and covered up for -- does it really surprise you that the "moral" of her story is that there is no such thing as good or evil? 🤔
Someone forgot to tell her STAR WARS is about HOPE.
"Fakeit 'til you make it" means to oversell yourself a little, and the quickly learn the skills you pretended to have in the first place. These people never picked up any skills and just expected everyone around to do their work - which is doomed to fail if you bully the skilled people out of the business and surround yourself with even more fake talents.
The best part? After they will have killed of the industry, nobody will want to have them around and the "rebuild better" part will happen without them, restoring exactly what they tried to destroy.
These people completely lack any kind of foresight and are completely unable to run any kind of business or create anything of value and will never truly reach the "make it" part.
Hold on! You just did a whole video on Headland and I didn’t hear you mention even once that she’s a QUEER WOMAN!!
It’s not that I think you need to, it’s that I’m surprised you could find any clips of her talking where she doesn’t tell us over and over and over and over.

Just messing but yeah. I wish they made a show based off those books. Would’ve been a recipe for success.
@@ThespianPrince13 You know what the infuriating part is, though?
90% of the stuff in the sequels is, at least broadly, in the Expanded Universe. Like the Sun Crusher (starkiller base) and the ultra-huge SSD (Eclipse). Palpatine ressurection. Ect. Ect.
Disney just filed off the barcodes, changed all the named, and lazily moved some things around halfheartedly and thought it'd work.
I don't know if following the books would have saved it - Disney is famously lazy and incompetent now - but something like Heir To The Empire would have sold incredibly well... but they would have had to share the money with the author, and the author would have never allowed their work to be disrespected like that.
While it is well-known that not all the books are made equally (like the resurrection of Palpatine, for example). It is entirely possible that Star Wars is in the toilet right now because they didn't want to share a % with Timothy Zahn.
All the DEI dealers tried making their own projects, nobody wanted to see them. So... the next option was to corrupt established stories. Resulting in those projects not wanting to be seen, either. Just keep showing these companies what you think by keeping your dollar for something you actually enjoy.
Her response to 'what is your favorite Star Wars movie?' and she just answers 'all of them' is hilariously identical to when Trump was asked "what's your favorite bible verse?"
"My favorite part of Star Wars is when they fight the Borg, or when Smaug attacks the village after being robbed. It literally *saved* my life!"

Thank you for a thoughtful well articulated breakdown of current Disney’s Star Wars. Hearing your analysis lifts my spirits. Keep up the great work!
Well I guess we now know that her favorite Star Wars movie is The Last Jedi, the one she admits she took inspiration from...
That line “this isn’t about good or bad … it’s about power” blew my mind. Star Wars has always been at its heart about the struggle between good and evil - on personal, interpersonal, and societal scales all simultaneously. Is that maybe at times a bit reductionist and simplistic? Sure, arguably. But that’s also an incredibly fruitful framework to create great stories that are allegorical to our real lives. Anyone who could write that line unironically has no place in a Star Wars project.
Her line is critical race studies in a nutshell.
War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength.
Who controls the past controls the future.
We live in a strange time! I'm old enough to remember Star Wars coming out in 1977 - it was so new! And of course without this ridiculous "agenda" madness.
Is all this just another symptom of America's impending collapse?
IMO, it's both a symptom... and a part of the cause.
The stories we tell ourselves reflect a part of who we are... but they also *shape* who we will (maybe?) very soon become.
For an idea of how bad things can get, and how quickly...
Do you know about/remember the tweet that got Gina in trouble with Disney?
One year, they were living together in harmony as fellow Germans... only a couple of years later, they were being forced to wear gold stars... and then a couple of years later, they were being rounded up... and then...
The whole process only took about 10 years to go from harmony to you-know-what.
The Soviets did it far more quickly, with very similar results, to their own peasant farmers (esp'ly in Ukraine)...
The PRC (Mao) also did it to their own peasant farmers about 30 years later... with the same results... just far more of them.
The Chinese even called it something that sounds very progressive... a great leap forward.

It is just sad to see how they manage to destroy legacies like Star Wars, Marvel and Indiana Jones just for the sake of political agendas. It breaks my heart because I grew up with those movies and read Marvel comics. It brought me joy and excitement and I was looking forward to go to the cinema, not anymore sadly. Those people act like they are fixing a problem as if they are convinced what they do is an improvement on the original, they are in their little bubble congratulating themselves. There is no entertainment anymore, just politics. On another level, it is however great to experience movies like Past Lives, Late Night with the Devil or Godzilla minus one; little gems that gives you hope about film making focusing on stories and characters...
That's one of the biggest problems that the people at Disney seem to be making. They think that as long as you have a sob story from your past that should excuse everything that you do in the present most especially if you're a woman and that's ridiculous. An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind as they say.
You've made some very interesting and telling comments. I plan to watch the first couple of episodes before passing judgement
Well, the line "It's not about good or bad, it's about power" - maybe that means that there will be a third party involved who fights against all Jedi, Dark Jedi and Sith? This could be interesting, but i guess we have to wait until we see the finished product. Still i doubt after Ahsoka and Kenobi, if they will be able to do it right.
Leslye “Square Head” Headland is the epitome of modern Hollywood.

Love your videos.
You know when you touched on the emphasis of good and evil and how she’s blurring the lines, saying that it’s not about good and evil I’m wondering if she rationalizes her relationship with Harvey and what she may know?
That Spider-Man clip at the end was perfect; genuinely made me laugh!
Anyone who says that they have no favorite Star Wars movie is not a Star Wars fan. Real fans debate and struggle to name which ones they like best or worst. Like they'll say "three is good except for like [this part]", or "I like Jedi except for the Ewoks", "the sequel trilogy is trash", "I like prequels but I don't care for Attack of the Clones" blah blah. But saying you have no favorite Star Wars movie or that you love them all equally? Nah. No real fan says that crap.
Kingpin from the Spiderverse was the best example of a tragic villain, he loses his family and wants to bring them back by anything means necessary including killing people and the heroes risked their lives to stop him since his goal was going to end in disaster anyway.
So what would Leslyle's tragedy even be since people don't like the fact that this show is made by a woman who fed other women to the wolves.
I have to say, I try not to be a cancel person, but knowing the unspeakable acts Ms Headlund is guilty of, I find it very difficult to imagine supporting any project she is involved in. I wonder what happened to Metoo?
Funny how she didn't get called out for not stopping Harvey when Quentin, Affleck etc were.
Anyone who is interjecting their own ego into a Star Wars project is doomed to fail
The Acolyte should be a good show on Disney plus and the kiddos love Star Wars just imagine Star Wars meets Broke Back Mountain " is that a light saber in your pocket or your just happy to see me?"
After all of the crap Hollywoke has shoveled out (and lost money on) over the last decade, one would think they'd learn. I'm okay with the industry imploding, as I still collect physical media of the the movies and shows I love.

I think the acolyte is fundamentally misunderstanding the Sith. Sith indulge themselves to the extreme where the Jedi relinquish themselves to extreme and let go of all earthly ties. This trailer makes it sound like the Sith are this misunderstood ideology when it’s clearly been established already their path is selfish and corrupt and lead to evil
I agree with you about the implication of not being able to choose a favorite Star Wars movie. I have a hard time picking between Revenge of the Sith, Rogue One, and The Empire Strikes Back, but at least I can say that those are the best of their respective eras.
With that said, I'm wondering if the black lady ranting about power is a Sith or someone corrupt enough to be influenced by them. That probably isn't true because Hollywood doesn't have the guts to turn a black woman into a complete villain, but you never know.
Evil prospers in morally gray topics.
The more morally gray, the more evil can prosper unnoticed.
Not surprising that the gal who sat back and watched countless other women get sexually assaulted wants to blur the line between good and evil!
I have a bad feeling about this...
4:55 i mean , not necessarily. i may be lacking context to make this claim but.. i know when i think of the Alien trilogy (my favorite film series) i often think of it it as a single story told in 3 acts rather than each one being a self contained thing ..unless im for whatever reason looking at each of the movies in isolation . so maybe she just saying that she is looking at the story as a whole and not like self contained elements.
NerdWord
do you have any Star Trek: Discovery opinions
Of all the groups, theirs is not one that I would expect to make excuses for someone having commited evil acts, all because of some perceived past trauma; like say, being rejected from art school.
This is a cool channel. I'm subscribing...
Leslye Headland, has a great face for radio.
Her glasses are a huge antenna
that what was thrown on a screen in the darkened room prophesied things none but Nyarlathotep dared prophesy,
and that in the sputter of his sparks there was taken from men that which had never been taken before yet which shewed only in the eyes
Another old buddy of mine has always been into "fake it till you make it."
He's now unemployed, and has no friends, because no one will trust him, and he burned every professional bridge he ever built up. he also blamed everyone else for his own failures, which I'm almost CERTAIN Leslye is gonna do when her show inevitably bombs.
We'll find out that "she's always been a victim," or some such sh*t. "They blackmailed me!"
Disney's constant assignment to "filmakers" whose most notable credentials are their political activism are an obvious signal as to what they are trying to achieve here. Respect for the fans and the source material isn't even on the list.
Star wars is about hope, redemption, and selflessness. Or at least it used to be 30 years ago...
People who don't know what the hell they are talking about will usually tell lies about what they are fans of. they are chameleons. Leslye alreay said in interviews that she fakes her knowledge of things to make her look intelligent about the subject. you usually can pick that right out in a person when they talk. so when leslye was asked "What was your favorite Star Wars movie?" and she replied "All of it" that tells me she knows nothing about her subject material. no one just says "All of it" people have favorites within the franchise. Mine is Empire Strikes Back.
That's because she is not a fan, people are said that she didn't answer the question because her pride or ego, but I think that she didn't answer the question because she has no idea about what Star Wars is and from the few things I saw in the acoytle, I think is notorious that she doesn't know how this universe work. She put martial arts and a girl trying to defeat a Jedi with a lightsaber, using a simple knife (that's impossible). She with all the interviews that she had given proves that she is not a fan from Star Wars movies in all of them Leslye proclaims that her objective is not telling a good star wars story, her objective is making a series which reflected her kuir identity. And I don't know if this is a rumor, BUT she also said that her greatest influential to this project was Rian Johnsson, not George Lucas, Rian Johnsson the man who destroyed Luke Skywalker
Probably no one gonna see this but should I just start a project on the old republic? I think it's honestly time
She's straight jacket quality.
You're right there are obsessed people everywhere it's just a shame our time has given jobs to these people who don't care about their obsessions or the history of the story they are allowed to pull down and destroy. Sad times?
Can I get some feedback?
South Park needs to do an episode on Leslye Headland
Space Lesbians of Color. The next Disney franchise.
It'll be like Teletubbies except even more childish.
"This isn't about good or bad, this is about power and who's allowed to use it." - Postmodern philosophy in a nutshell
What she chooses to brag about is questionable.
Kind of interesting if you consider that artists do put their own worldview into their stories.
“ it’s not about good or bad. It’s about power and who is allowed to use it.”
Could be* reaching, but I could easily imagine this is her way of seeding a belief system into the world that would spare her the consequence of the public learning how much she enabled Harvey Weinstein when she was his assistant.
“I’m not bad, he just had power.”
I had no idea the acolyte was about the Dark side being ok sometimes. I always seen Star Wars light and dark side as two distinct sides. If you’re using the Dark Side it is used with malicious intent, like an unforgivable curse from Harry Potter. You can come back from the dark side but yeah, Unless your a grey Jedi.
The ending of your video says it all about her. If she were to recognize good from evil publicly and on her stories, she would ultimately be recognizing that she closed her eyes and accepted all of what was happening during the Harvey Weinstein era.
I think the general audience is waiting with great trepidation. I think because of the media leading up to this, and how casting was handled even before there was a script, that the audience will be looking at this through a lens looking for “woke”. The 1st time it shows up I think critics are going to pour gasoline on it and burn it down while saying “told you so”. I truly wish it could be viewed from a blank slate and reviewed purely on merit. I genuinely believe there will be some really good scenes and pieces, but I expect they will be overshadowed by what people expect to find.
I wish that wasn’t my thought, but this is how it was teed up.
I just don't get it though. "Its not about good or evil its about power and who is allowed to use it." LIKE is that not what good and evil is about? "Great power comes with great responsibility." What is the writer smoking. Its sounds like something some edgy 16 girl on tumblr would write.
It’s literally critical race studies 101. They think it’s profound for some reason.
I'm about to watch a video from "The Drinker" entitled "The Acolyte Season 2 Scrapped?" may well say a lot about where this chapter of the franchise is headed.
I do enjoy your take on the media industry, but given what I have seen about this show, your over-arching question may well be academic.
To introduce yourself (Headland, I refer to) as a fraud and hack is hardly likely to instil any sense of interest in your product, and those who do watch will take every opportunity to tear down the efforts of the aforementioned fraudster. It is doomed to fail would be my guess…
Fake it till you make it is a good mind set to have when you're going into a middle man job. But, when you're given 200 Million+ budget and a truly beloved property, you should probably know what you're doing. What do I know, I'm not a film maker.
A Dark-Side story is not the issue. That’s not the problem. We’ve had Sith stories before. People act like there’s no such thing as a Darth Plagueis novel or Darth Bane trilogy, or the Old Republic’s Sith storyline.
The problem is identity politics.
I've wondered about the reasoning behind L.H's leadership here... And yeah it still just makes no sense?
