Dude! This is so awesome that you did a Mekong ranking. Soooo underrated. I was 1st introduced to the band via Kalidascope thanks to a friend of mine when we went to a record convention back then. I like the rankings, but would disagree with you on an intelectual level. I would have rated Visions higher, but hate the production. I love all their stuff overall, but give me the 1st six records any day of the week. Cheers
When I worked on college radio in 1989, I was drawn to the 'Erich Zann' album cover, and couldn't agree more that it should be the #1 pick. Love that record, and played the hell out of it when i was a DJ many moons ago.
As a fan, I have trouble ranking the albums. I can say that Lurking Fear is the most underrated one. Dances Of Death is my all-time favourite metal album for sure.
Mekong Delta was the band that introduced me to prog-era Genesis (their cover of Dance on a Volcano). I haven't kept up with them much since Lurking Fear, but I have heard bits and pieces of their newer albums.
My roommate in fall 1990 was a real music fanatic. He presented music I hadn’t heard before including Music of Erich Zann, which totally blew me away. I’d never heard anything like it… I’d been brought up on 70s yacht rock and 80s pop - I didn’t have a lot of control (or $$$) to know all that was going on at that age really, and recall… back then there was no internet! Anyway, about seven years later (after the internet took off but before streaming), I ordered a single CD of the first two albums combined, expecting the greatness of the album I’d heard years before, but the bonus was the debut album. What an experience that was! I agree that those albums are indeed masterpieces. Thanks for putting the list together and sharing your takes.
I still remember when i first listened to Dances of Death back in the 90s...incredible album and my very favorite one. Lurking Fear is indeed very good (Peter Lake rules 🤘).
It speaks to how great they are that even though that’s completely different from my list I still totally get why’d you’d rank them that way. All great stuff.

Yeah that’s the great thing about Mekong Delta, you can really put them in any order. Great and super underrated band.
Dude, anyone even mentioning Mekong Delta is a champ. But ranking Mekong Delta albums makes you a legend!!!! 😃
Wow thanks for those kind words mate. It’s much appreciated. Thanks very much for watching. Definitely a band that deserves more attention.

Thank you very much. So many albums I weren't aware. I'm so interested in Principles of Doubt right now : )
Great video, thanks 👍 What an incredible band! So many incredible songs. I didn't discover this band until later in life but glad I did, cheers.
