  • I started researching essential oils over 15 years ago and never looked back. I no longer use body lotions, I’m 100% oil girl. My skin loves it and has reacted positively to the oil combination that I use.
    Carrier oils are used as a base to dilute essential oils before they are applied topically to the skin. They help "carry" the essential oils onto the skin.
    Essential oils are concentrated plant extracts that contain the desired therapeutic properties of the plants from which they're derived. Essential oils contain a higher percentage of aromatic compounds than carrier oils, that is why they smell so wonderful.
    Carrier Oils used
    Avocado Oil - Very good for mature skin because it helps retain moisture.
    Sweet Almond Oil - Contains vitamins A & E, omefa-3 fatty acids and antioxidants. Great for most skin types.
    Grapeseed Oil - Improve your skin’s elasticity and softness, good for oily skin.
    Rosehip Oil - Contains carotenoids, which help keep your skin fresh and healthy by creating new skin cells.
    Coconut oil - It is proven that virgin coconut oil hydrates the skin and locks in moisture.
    Essential Oils used
    Lavender -Some of its skin benefits include that of being antiseptic and anti-fungal which helps to reduce scarring and speeds healing. The essential oil is also an anti-inflammatory and circulatory stimulant.
    Frankincense - Frankincense essential oil helps in toning and providing elasticity to the skin. It delays an early onset of aging by stimulating production of collagen and regulating growth of skin cells.
    Neroli - Heals Scaring and preserves youthfulness. One of the best skin benefits of Neroli Oil is its potential to regenerate the skin from scar tissue.
    Geranium - Has antibacterial and antiseptic properties, when applied topically, it may be helpful for preventing the bacteria on your skin from entering your pores and causing breakouts
    Lemon - It can clarify your skin, gently exfoliating dead skin cells.
    Cacay - Nature’s Answer to Retinol. The oil properties are rich in skin nourishing nutrients and essential fatty acids: Vitamin A, one of the most powerful antioxidant that activates the skin’s natural renewal process and rebuilds/replenishes.
    Myrrh - Has natural anti-microbial, anti-inflammatory and anti-fungal properties that the Chinese used for eczema, athlete’s foot and minor skin irritation. Also used it in skincare to reverse signs of aging and maintain healthy skin.
    Frankincense - Helps in toning and providing elasticity to the skin. It delays an early onset of aging by stimulating production of collagen and regulating growth of skin cells. It reduces fine lines, the appearance of wrinkles, crow feet and hyperpigmentation.
    Marula Oil - Abundant in healthy fatty acids that can prevent water loss from the skin. Helps treat hyperpigmentation of the skin and have high levels of antioxidants and fatty acids that will make you look younger.
    Other products used
    African Shea Butter
    Vegetable Gylcerin
    Aloe Oil
    Vitamin C Powder

    Wow we have this in common, I have been a kitchen chemist making my own butters, oils, scrubs and bath teas. I use good carrier oils and good essential oils, real African shea butters its the best for the body and doesn't disrupt hormones. I love oils I prefer them as well. where do you source your oils from? I also add a natural fragrance oil mix to my body oils & butters along with the other essential oils, OMG it smells so good whilst nourishing my body. Im over 50 and my skin is smooth still. Im Latina and I tend to scar dark brown so I will be trying the avocado as wellI and see how my body reacts to it Im excited yay!

      I make an oil for my face because some of the essential oils I use in the body butter does not work on my face. For my face oil I start with Rosehip oil as my base, add about 10 drop of Frankincense, 5 drops on Lemon oil, 10 drops of Lavender oil and 1/2 teaspoons of vegetable glycerin. Please do a skin test on all oils before using.

    How do you keep your shea butter from re-solidifying? I made both, and what I have is lumps of shea butter. Help!!!!!

    • @agelessrestyling
      @agelessrestyling  ปีที่แล้ว

      Betty, the body butter will get a little harder. It’s a body butter with amazing ingredients added. The body oil should not have harden, you do not need a lot of shea butter to make the body oil.

    • @agelessrestyling
      @agelessrestyling  ปีที่แล้ว

      Betty I just noticed you said lumps, the body butter should not be lumping, I think you may not have blended long enough. Try taking it out adding some vegetable glycerin and blend very well. It should be a little soft and later turns in velvety butter.
