Maybe the game makers didn't mis-spell that missing sign? if you think about it, as a unity object they didn't need to have to edit it unless they intentionally wanted to misspell it, which makes sense because the antagonist is still a young child, he wouldn't be able to read, especially since every single glue jar is also misspelled as "lgoo" if you look at 10:37, I find it hard that the game makers would misspell twice on objects that were already correctly worded in former iterations.
They're probably worded incorrectly intentionally, seeing as the protagonist is at such a young age he might not know how to read properly yet.

Ithink that the neighbours wife died and then he blamed himself and and he tookout that rage on his kids and his kids ran away and the neighbour realized whag he did and put up the missing posters and locked up his feelings deep down (the basement) and shadow boy is the physical embodyment of his guilt and rage that he locked away.

I can’t wait to see the rest of this game. It’s so much more impressive to me now than it was before, between finally seeing some of the story and the puzzles and the way everything is coming together. I was afraid the full game would be boring because I’ve seen so much coverage of every little part of it, but I’m actually really excited and intrigued now that it’s here. I wouldn’t even worry about making long videos, btw, because frankly this was awesome. 😃 Your videos are always the best, IMO.

I waited so long for this game to come out in full version. I’ve watched your Hello Neighbor videos every time they came out since you posted the very first one, and I’ve probably rewatched all of them at least a few times each. This game is so intriguing, and I’m always interested to hear what you have to say about the story!! Which is why the story of the full release has really thrown me off? I couldn’t help but think that the neighbor is obviously the one who kidnapped the kids in those “simming” (lol) posters. And if that’s the case, he’s now kidnapped the player, too. That would be really traumatizing for a kid, so perhaps that’s why the house looks different? Maybe the player escapes the neighbor, and goes BACK to the house to save the other two kids who are (presumably) there?

Captain! the lock pick was there but when you used the magnet gun using 2 boxes you missed and it attached to the wall as you jumped then when you let go it dropped to the floor. This is the reason why people are saying they saw it. :)

Maybe the child's room is for the neighbors children that went missing and he would kidnap children to fill in the gap in his heart. But when they realize that's gotten kidnapped they would start to freak out that's why we see him tackle someone in the start of the game.(. His wife and children might of died in the car crash/ and the missing girl and boy could be because the neighbor had a girl and

I’ve started playing hello neighbor again thanks to this series, I’m on that map, I’ve forgotten how fun it is to throw things at the neighbor (especially the bowling ball) thank you for getting me back into this game captain sauce
I have a theory. When you were captured, I think the shoe you saw was yours, and in Act 1 the guy you controlled was the kid but it was the adult having a flashback. So, with that, the whole time, you were locked up in that room as an adult having flashbacks and dreams of how you got locked up.
The protagonist, if he isn't the neighbors son, would have pictures of the neighbors house because he became obsessed with the basement. Plz respond so I know you saw this captainsauce.

i think the story is that the thing in his basement is the shadow boy and the neighbor is trying to stop it by putting it in his basement but you set it free so he locks you both in thinking you work for the shadow boy.

Beginning of act 2 clip: the protagonist is the missing boy bc he's missing a shoe which was shown when you went down in the basement at first but that really wouldn't make sense since the protagonist is kicking a ball, heard the girl, and saw the missing kids poster in the beginning of act 1
Or maybe the missing boy tried running away so the neighbor killed him or the missing boy died another way; making you a replacement of that missing boy

What I think what's going on in this game is that you're a random kid who sees the neighbor catchching a kid that he has captured that's trying to escape, so you try to rescue that child but you get captured like the children who are were there before you. But, you escape and you try to tell someone about the neighbor but the neighbor moves away with all the missing children he captured to another town. So, the following acts are about how you try to confront the neighbor and you find out his story. I think what the neighbor did was that his family got killed and he made a deal with the devil to bring his family back but he must capture children and sacrifice them.

My theory of hello neighbor:The missing boy is the neighbor and the other one the girl is the sister but she went missing and neighbor keeps capturing children to see if they know about her but he has never found her.Than years later you were born and raised an away as well and you go over to find out dads old secret in the basement and you could never find it out as a kid and neighbor keeps trying to catch you and tie you up so you never leave him again but half of this is your memory if you were in the apartment as an adult and you thought that's all the things that happened but you couldn't stop those thoughts and you went into a coma(like ash Ketchum from Pokemon the thing that was a lightning bolt made him go into a coma so he was 12 for all the seasons and series and movies)And you always saw this and you were remembering this that you were the kid who never came and you were the one who got in the car accident because you went through the road you were thinking about it all on the road you got ran over and when you were in the coma you pictured yourself as The neighbors brother (I will call Jerry) Who killed your son because he knew that you the son had those memory's he knew that you had that but he wanted revenge for Neighbor because the neighbor killed Jerrys wife Gloria and he comes to his house because as a kid neighbor was older and Jerry was younger he always wanted to know your secrets and he Thought he would find something but neighbor Roped him up and put him in the basement with no food and he died and became shadow boy THATS MY THEORY IF YOU WANT MORE WATCH MY VIDS IM MAKING THEM EVERY SATURDAY
