- It fixed the biggest problem QR1 had, no more metal clunky noises! I can finally swap wheels without having to go through the trouble of unscrewing and re-screwing the locking bolt. QR2 is the true quick release I've been waiting for!

Those FFB tests made me demonetize myself! Good stuff showing that! When I get one, I'm going to get a before and after.

It comes with the Next Level Racing F-GT Elite rig, and also sold separately. Although you may need to get creative if you want to install it on other rigs.
I am really on the fence as i have some older wheels that i cant convert to qr1 without buying 2 metal pieces and taking the whole thing apart and then buying qr2 on top of it… will probably get that new dd+ and just get qr1 adapter… i still use csw v2.5 atm

FFB test on the fanatec app i assume
Force feedback test using Fanatec Control Panel, which sends a high-frequency oscillation FFB signal to the base. It’s pretty much the worst case scenario for generating noises. In the video, all noises were from the wheel itself, not from the QR2.

Hey, Nathaniel. What rim are you using to drive the Ferrari GT3 car? I’m looking for that on their site And don’t see it. I have a V2.5x on order-my first direct drive wheel, and am worried that it’ll be too narrow to use on non-F1 cars.

Mind sharing a link if you have one? I've searched Etsy but can only find adapters that are about $40
Think James is refering to the 'Simmakerz' mod, i've run it for over a year now, couldn't be happier with the upgrade.

Did you had this metal noice without locking bolt and it go away when you used it? I have this metalic sound when do ffb test and don't have that bolt want buy it but don't know it will fix the problem
Yes, I did. The locking bolt on QR1 solves that problem but creates a new one by turning a quick release into a slow release. QR2 fixes everything.
Is the overall setup longer? So does the wheel stick further out from the base with the QR2 system?
It's slightly shorter than QR1

Is that creaking coming from your rig? Will drive me insane after one lap.
It was from the rig's pedal plate. I usually use headphones so not a big issue.
Is the shaft still wobbly?
What sparco seat is that? How comfortable is it?

I guess I was lucky, my base never had the problem. The seat is a Pro 2000 QRT, it's pretty comfortable overall, but I did add a lumbar support pillow.
I was looking for a good lumbat pillow, i have one that's a bit tall and after a while it digs in my back, what pillow are you using?

The drive shaft is a tiny bit shorter than before, otherwise there’s no difference in terms of driving experience.
Thanks for the feedback. I am thinking of changing to QR2 purely for the increase in ffb fidelity but it looks like I will keep using the QR1 for now.
@godspd666 I own the DD1 and upgraded to QR2 on both my Porsche Podium Rim as the Formula V2 and I do notice an increase in ffb vidality... as for me at least, the full absence of flex makes it feels like I own a completely different direct drive.
@@bschalker Thanks for the feedback. My use case is same as Nathaniel's, I am using a CSL DD (8nm). I am not getting any play or clunk on the QR1 with the locking screw hence I am wondering if I should upgrade to QR2, it looks like the benefit is very insignificant. I am guessing there are more gains for stronger wheel bases like the DD1 and DD2 especially if there are any pre existing issues on the older QR.
@@casual_driverI don't think you need the upgrade mate, it doesn't add any additional ffb.(maybe the placebo of less flex)Since you say you don't experience any flex it's definitely not needed,spend that money on something else that might need upgrading in you simrig. Hope this helps happy racing.

@@Nathaniel_Wu Ah okay, I've never heard anything like it. Sounds like your DD is knackered, but obvs not thankfully. I've got a Clubsport DD coming later this morning, and fitted the QR2's to my wheels in prep. Can't wait. Are you still loving it?
No complaint, as solid as expected. You can try the FFB test in the Fanatec Control Panel when you get your CS DD, I'm sure you'll hear a bit of similar plastic rattling noise, the loudness varies depending on the wheel, unless you directly slap a wheel rim onto a podium hub without any button box. As long as it does not sound like metal, it's completely normal.

Whats with all the ffb noise? My dd pro is silent.
It sounds like you’ve never tried the FFB test in Fanatec Control Panel. The noises are from the moving parts on the wheel rim, like buttons.

You can set INT to 0, and run kerbs or off-road, that'll create high-frequency oscillating FFB signals as well, and might cause your wheel to make noises. But if you are holding the wheel, it dampens the oscillation.

Yes
No. Ordered when it came out and 0 updates or response from fanatec here in the US. I give them slack until I see shit like this and its clear they only prioritize their highest dollar purchases. Scummy company overall
@@robertrychtarczyk8785Just because you are having issues doesn't mean it isn't worth it for other people. You got unlucky which is unfortunate but its a rare thing and personally, fanatec products are worth it, especially compared to thrustmaster with their overpriced products

It is the original mount of the rig, I didn't buy the bottom mount edition if that's what you meant
DD with a USB C in the end of the shaft..., bad desing, a lot of youtubers reporting issues with it for micro cuts when driving and fanatec cant do nothing to fix that, just saying to tight the screws...

Small Detail: Don‘t ever use a Torque Wrench to loosen Bolts!
Why not? My torque wrench has a switch that changes the rotation direction, I thought it was for loosening bolts?
The torque wrench is used incorrectly
If you hear a clicking sound, do not tighten further.
I was just making sure it clicked
You can stop when it starts clicking or continue clicking forever. The wrench wont allow you to tighten any tighter, regardless of how much you turn it after it starts clicking. That's the whole point of a torque wrench.
