As pretty much all good mothers will do! It’s not like the animal kingdom where a new male comes in and kills the offspring of other males, we are more evolved!
Kody was angry with Christine for 2 reasons:
1) She walked away with money (from her house)
2) He wasn’t in control of the decision

Also he got authority from his Mormon polygamy faith to have complete control over his wives & ALL their children, eventually 18 kids
What Kody did not understand was putting the messy marriages on reality TV would expose his incompetence as a father & multiple husband. Kody stole fr the family money pot for Robyn's shopping addiction & his own personal GREED. Kody is now scrambling to get the money he needs to maintain his upscale life lifestyle. Poverty is following him in the back window of his sports car.
@@buffalogail1337 Kody believes according to his ego & polygamy beliefs that HE ALONE owns & deserves every resource ($) that the wives earn & their homes. But so Robyn could qualify to buy her mansion, Kody took his name off the deed of Christine's home so he had no ownership of Christine's home when she sold it with her divorcing Kody so the equity in the home legally is hers. Quite frankly Christine deserved every penny she got from the house sale & more.
Of course, Kody did not win Christine's profits & sure that caused him rage. Good he treated Christine like crap. You can bet Kody was in a bad mood LOL & Robyn got to hear how infuriated Kody was about that loss. Good for Christine!!
If Meri is making the money for herself, she should have whatever she wants...
I saw a preview of next season with Meri and Christine talking. Paraphrased, Meri said "I don't know what happened between us. One day we were the best of friends and the next day we weren't." Christine's response, "It wasn't about you." I want to hear the rest of this convo. I hope that Meri and Christine share truths and that it brings both of them peace.
I know that Christine has said in the past, that Meri used to hurt her by making fun of her in front of an audience (especially Meri's family). However, I think since they are all away from the malignant narcissist duo (who I think fomented so much of the hard feelings and division in this family), Christine should give Meri one more chance. Maybe she has learned to not be so difficult. I really would love to see a reunification of this family, including any of Robyn's kids who want that as well, but NO ROBYN AND KODY PERIOD! They create nothing but drama and trouble. Hearing from Mykelti that Leon wants to rejoin her family after avoiding them for so long, and that ALL of the kids except for Maddie had gotten together recently did my heart good. Kody will always be a snarling angry mess, and Robyn is nothing more than a self pitying martyr. They don't need to be around anyone, because they will only demand things be done on their terms, and those days are over.

Kody calls Robyn's house his when neither Kody or Robyn paid a single penny for it. But they do now.
I love that your son was willing to find out about what you were interested in. ❤️ During COVID Kody acted as if he wore a suit of armor that protected him from getting COVID and from spreading it. He went wherever he wanted to go without any concerns. However when it came to his daughter’s surgery he couldn’t go with her. He used COVID as an excuse not to do things unless of course it was something he wanted to do and then it was okay.
@@juliearnold5832 well said! Kody was granted.special immunity against covid so he could officiate a friend's wedding & dance like a buffoon because he is so precious. Covid would not dare stop Kody fr having his fun. Meanwhile Meri followed all the Kody/Robyn rules, but was not allowed to enter Robyn's home.
In order to make the money situation equitable, they should have divided the money by person, not by wife.

Meri wanted the big house in Flagstaff because she wanted space for the out of town kids to stay with her when they were in town. FYI: Some of the older kids lived with her in Vegas when not getting along with their own mothers. The crowding and chaos in their own mother's homes got to them. She was refuge. They never filmed those but some of the kids have mentioned it.
How long did they “live “with her?🤔 I believe it was less than a week
A couple of extra bedrooms would have sufficed for out of town guests. She didn't need FIVE bedrooms. That was simply her excuse to always have better than everyone else. Besides, as each of the mothers had children move away, they had extra bedrooms of their own to put their visiting kids in. Wasteful greed at its worst.
Not just the kids but space for her business. So she could claim the rent as business tax credit. But part was she had to have a big house same size as rhe other wives.

@@IaneHoweMeri may have been indecisive about her love of Kody but even though she was kody's legal wife for years before offering the divorce so Kody could legally marry Robyn, Meri liked to use 1st wife power to control the other wives. Kody allowed Meri to wield power as the 1sr wife for decades. So no way was Meri going to rent a small ranch house in Flagstaff. Meri was duplicating her wet bar nonsense.
She demanded a big house in Flagstaff because she ran a business out of the house & she would not down grade to a small house in AZ. She even had an elevator. That is Meri's MO. She liked power. She has a very strong personality. So Meri wanted to have a family get together at HER house. So at Christmas 2023 Meri wanted to do her Christmas Eve tradition of having ALL the kids come over. She used to sew the kids pj's. Kody seemed receptive to the idea UNTIL ROBYN came up with it would not be SAFE. That was the saddest I have felt for Meri.
Robyn was being treated as #1wife as soon as Kody legally married her even though he never called Robyn #1 wife. That is why Kody wanted his sons to "apologize" to Robyn. And he never told the OG3 wives to bow to Robyn's will as his #1 wife. IMO Robyn was Kody's true "love" & Kody allowed her to destroy the 3 marriages & his 13 kids. Kody is weak & easily manipulated by Robyn's needs & DEMANDS. (end of rant)

The Coyote Pass property has legal clauses in the paperwork, claiming that property can not be full-time residential. Please look into this if you haven't. If true, the Brown's knew they could never build homes on that property, TLC knew and every story line tied to building on that property would then be completely fabricated for the show! 😮

In the Mormon culture, women are judged by the number of children they have. The more children, the more holy they are. Meri fought hard against this measure of her worth'. I am with Meri on this one.

I think as the first wife, Meri should get what she wants. If she wants a house that is commensurate with what the others were getting, why not? She sacrificed everything. If it wasn't for her, Robyn wouldn't be where she is today. By the way, I don't believe it would make financial sense for her to have the smallest house in the cul de sac. People buying in that neighborhood have a certain expectation when it comes to square footage and amenities. Just my thoughts. 🙂
The house that Meri bought in Parowan UT was already a Bed and Breakfast business; she did not convert it into a bed and breakfast business. She bought it because it used to belong to her grandmother and she wanted to keep it in the family.

Agree with you 100%. If you are only supporting 1 child it is insane to think you are entitled to the same amount as someone feeding 6 mouths, when you are supposedly living as 1 family. I will say this though, remember Aspen’s wedding? Aspen was worried about $$$ and Meri told her, at the table with the other Mom’s, that she would make sure she has the wedding she wants. Something like that, so I wonder if Meri was generous behind the scenes. It seemed very clear to me that Meri was going to use some of her private funds for the wedding.
Remember the sour face from Robbem and her throwing out the only nay vote? She wants it for her children, but not for any of yours (she didn’t want a cohesive family - actions say more than words)

I wouldn't be at all surprised if you discover your son binge watching the show to simply see if Kody & Robyn are as malignantly narcissistic as you describe. It seems unreal, but it's true. They are.

It's my observation Christine doesn't want to mend fences with Meri because Christine (rightfully) doesn't trust Meri. So why would Christine want Meri in her life or appear to be OK with Meri, imo? Meri didn't have Christine's back, especially during the end. Meri was in Kody and Robyn's camp. Remember, knife in the kidneys porch drama? Meri and Robyn held each other and sobbed. Even in previous years--Christine went to Meri about her struggle with Kody and Meri essentially told Christine SHE isn't doing enough/doing what she's supposed to do as a plural wife. Essentially, you (Christine) knew what you were signing on for, so suck it up, buttercup. Meri has seldom, if ever had Christine's back so I don't blame Christine for feeling how she feels towards Meri.

Yep. I remember how Meri seemed to enjoy when Kody was raging at Christine (the porch scene). She even said something like "I'm glad he finally said it".
I think life has been tough for all of them. Kody being so strange... Remember Christine telling how one Christmas, Kody gave her lots of presents and Meri only got one. I remember the scene between Meri and Christine you talk about. Meri told Christine that she just has to put up with Kody's behavior and work on herself sounds like a terrible advice. I think it was probably typical AUB advice. Wives should keep sweet and keep the patriarch happy. It's not about the wives. They are just a part of the "big pitcher".
I think that all wives + Kody were so immersed in their believe systems and what they had been taught about family, relationships, etc. The idealistic picture about sister wives on the porch, watching their kids and grandchildren play is something they are being taught. An ideal picture how wonderful life can be is a sister wife.
I think Meri made the most with her Lularoe and should be able to spend it how ever she wants. If she wanted the big house and she’s paying for it, more power to her. As far as in the past, I would argue that she only had a big house, that others didn’t want her to have, in Vegas. They were making the TLC money by then. It does seem unfair if the expectations were that she has a 2 bedroom apartment somewhere while everyone else has big nice houses. Especially when you’re buying. One day those kids will be out of the house. The other wives would own big nice houses while Meri just had a 2 bedroom.
Why would she want a five bedroom house? The other kids stopped even going over to her house let alone sleep at her house. So why would a one child single person want a five bedroom home🤔

Meri is proud & is making $ with her online clothing business. One of the top sellers. So. She could afford the $5,000 per month rent. Seems wasteful but Meri is a demanding wife just like Robyn. Kody picks wives who are controlling which means he does not have any skills to vet a wife. After all, he married a beautiful jeans model. 😅

But isn't it about distributing resources to the family? It's not about how much they make. I think Janelle was the main breadwinner and divided the resources fairly. Meri always plays the victim and held a lot of resentment over not being able to have children. When there are that many kids to take care of, you don't need to hoard the resources for yourself. However, this whole lifestyle is stupid and a huge financial drain, so Meri could have just left and lived the life she wanted rather than sticking it out in a loveless "marriage" and expected to help fund everyone else. How Robyn got to be the queen who earned nothing, I'll never understand.

Why did she not just buy a house in Flagstaff & earn equity. No one even hung out at that home!? When they were poor & Meri took more resources than the other two wives who had 6 kids each & food insecurity it should have been corrected by their agreed husband Leader to correct the situation but he did nothing. Kody could have intervened, had a meeting with all 3 wives & resolved that Meri & Leon needed to help with the other kids to have adequate food.
If Meri could see the need for Christine & Janelle to feed 12 kids & not help them, Meri was not a good sister wife.
The Browns lied they were faking plural marriage once this show went on air.
The only sister wives actually helping each were Christine & Janelle. Where Kody was in providing food for HIS KIDS is not clear. But you have 13 kids as a father & you are required to have at least a 40 hrs per week job with a side job or two

Also, I’ve got to say that I felt a tinge of jealousy seeing how close you are with your son. That is worth its weight in gold, and I would have loved to have had that kind of relationship with my mom.
I think if there weren't so many hurt feelings from the past, Meri could be friends with Christine and Janelle now that their kids are all grown and gone. Meri is lonely, and Christine and Janelle are good friends now that there's no competition between them for resources, and they have a huge shared past. I don't see why Meri couldn't be the same.

When the one house idea was floated with the wives. Robin didn’t want it from the beginning. She claimed there would be fights when you see the episode. There was no arguments are fighting or bad talking. I believe that Robin did not want that one house idea and and Cody surprised her with it as well.
Kody always thought he was the center of the family. But now he’s having to face that he was never the center. It was always Christine who tied the family together.
These people have to be the most irresponsible with money than I’ve other seen and aren’t also drug addicts.

I think the reason Marie still on the outs of the OG sister wives is because she didn’t care that their children grew up with food insecurity, and she got the same budget for 2. I can see Marie point on housing (to have kids want to be there as well-although it didn’t work), and maybe in the requirement for structure & discipline…but not food. That is not caring for the children’s basic needs. A parent’s #1 need is to feed their young. If Marie is so conscientious about the importance of healthy food, how can she keep children from accessing it? Weren’t they her children too? That to me would be a reason to never speak to her again. She did not care to provide or protect the well being of the babies that weren’t hers.
Best point ever referring to why Christine & Janelle are not close to Meri. She & Leon had food & other kids ate stale bread. Did Kody ever just eat stale bread?
Yes! And the way Meri bragged about her and Leon eating healthier than the others or “preferring fresher, healthier food”. Then, later saying, how Leon was over eating with her siblings a lot, because let’s face it, Leon wanted the junk food as much as any other kids. This is why one kitchen might actually be better if you are raising one, united family. And those funds should have been divided per person, not per wife.

@@lauriekurad it’s in the book, in Meri’s own words: she and Then Mariah preferred fresher, healthier food. Fresher/healthier food is more expensive.
Meri and her need for a lavish home is ridiculous. I could understand when they were building in Vegas and it probably didn't make sense to build a small house that was much different than the other homes in their cul de sac. However, she didn't need to continue to spend so many resources on one person when there are so many kids to care for.

When he was taking these women one at a time, he used them for their money and was lying to all of them, telling Meri he wanted to try and work it out, telling Christine, things will be better! And they believed him! So sad, he got them out there under false pretenses and the only two that made money, was Robyn and Cody! Sick

He was trying to keep up...and asking questions 😊 But, after explaining family dynamics, and Garrison, he understood that reality TV has real life consequences.😢 He got why people were leaving at once. I think that Meri was waiting for someone to leave, see the backlash, and decide. I was surprised Janelle held out so long. She too was confused as to the doctrines. But, after seeing that no one was going after anyone, she left. She worked for a family of 17, as well as Meri. I feel bad, as she's understanding and supportive of Leon and Audrey. They just want nothing to do with the show, ergo nothing with Mom. 😢
Paedon has also said Meri was ab***ve to himself and one of his sisters. But again it's paedon. Anyway I really enjoyed this!

Merri also gave her money from her Vegas house to Robyn. She also payed rent for her large house from the money she earned. If Janelle and Christine had six kids each, that’s on them. It’s not like she got anything out of the family.

I think Meri should have more, she is the one making the money! Why should Robyn get an almost one million dollar home when she has never contributed a penny! Plus she worked at home and for a while had family things and other kids staying.
Christine‘s had enough drama to last a lifetime… Meri is not easy to deal with and her thought processes are so strange. There’s no way Christine or Janelle will want to get back into any kind of a meaningful relationship with her.

Savanna. Kody was poking around in the cupboards looking in them. My guess in every wives homes he has space only for his stuff, same may be said for the ice box fridge. When he said she doesn't have a place for me.

I agree that Meri always had to have the biggest and the best. I always thought that being that their finances were intertwined, she was taking money from the children by being so ridiculous. If she didn’t sign up to look after all the kids, then she shouldn’t have still been a part of the family.
The more I think about it. Meri, Kody and Robyn were all selfish.
I always thought they should divvy resources by the number of people in the family. It's the only way that makes sense if they're actually pretending to be just one family. Generally speaking, none of it makes ANY sense.
