- I just noticed a pattern in Kody's behavior when he wants to manipulate people. Let's call is the "used car salesman approach."

The day the Truley had the bicycle lesson. Truley told Kody" it's my body" ect. In front of the camera. Bye bye Truley. Also I think once Sol then Ariella. Truley was ignored .
I’d love to see a video explaining how Robyn “wanted to sit on a porch with her sister wives” yet spent next to no time with them for years. Even when she did spend time with the family, it was conditional and restricted. How did she think she was suddenly going to be sitting on a porch with them?…she didn’t, all the tears were over the realisation she has lost access to all of their money, not a single tear dropped for the loss of the relationships.
Pretty sure Robyn wouldn't feel safe on the porch🙄

In the first flashback, the kidney knife, it always makes my stomach churn to see Meri's reaction to Kody speaking to her. The expression on her face was one of delight that he was talking with her, an almost school girl look on her face. That moment has always made me sad for her...just excited that he's paying some attention to her. What a mess that man has made through manipulation.
Meri was, quite apparently, enjoying Kody raging at Christine. Then probably felt flattered that Kody paid attention to her. That was a knife in the kidney...
You both state FACTS. I can’t get over Meri starting a couching business? I mean really Meri needs more therapy not to give it! I want to see her get her mental health stronger. (Said as nicely as I can ).

Kody's refusal to go to Ysabel's surgery was the WORST. And then to actually say to her: 'You're not gonna become a bitter ol' housewife because Daddy didn't do this for you?' What a douchebag.
That was so awful. Can you imagine your child having such a painful and dangerous surgery, and not going. I bet he didn't even check on her. He's vile!!
@@tracybeehner5305 The odd thing was that his excuse for not going was that he'd be gone for 6 weeks? He could have just gone for 3 or 4 days to see her through the worst part and gone back home to quarantine for a week. He just didn't want to go.

That's manipulative. The way he asked her, she had actually no other option than to say no.
If she had taken her time, she might have come up with an honest answer.

Women who are NOT programmed by religion are not likely to put up with this kind of stuff. The control of women has been a top use of religion for millennia.
Right now women are being denied the sovereignty of their bodies because of religious beliefs of some people. 25% of Americans are secular. Not practicing any religion. Religion takes away free will. But, Christine could have gone against Kody when he initially said no to surgery for Ysabel. As a Mom, that would have been a hard no to the TV show & to her pretend marriage.
Ok well I am a Christian and I would never, ever allow anyone to treat me that way. So not all people who have grown up in religion are brain washed.

Honestly, if one takes scripture literally, any behavior can be justified. How religion is lived out depends on how sanely the person interprets and applies their own scriptures.
Kody repeatedly says that Robyn is the fundamentally loyal to him … but he just disregards Meri for years I think she has sadly, to her own detriment the most loyal wife I mean she gave him a divorce JUST so he could marry the manipulative, diabolical home wrecker 😢🤬💔 sorry to tell Kody but Meri was the only one who would have literally taken a bullet for him 🤦🏼♀️

I’m pretty sure they mentioned that Kendra even vouched for this “Sam” person…and I wouldn’t be surprised if Robyn actually encouraged it, knowing how it would all go down.

Kody's interaction with Truely just broke my heart for Truely. So obvious that Kody does not have a relationship with that young girl. He's standing there with his hands in his pockets asking questions like someone who just barely met her!!! No hugs?!?! No kisses goodbye - nothing!?!? Truely doesn't know what to say to him (who is this guy anyway?!?!?!?) since he has never shown much interest in her for her entire life and she is pacing around trying to escape an uncomfortable situation.

To Janelle at the restaurant: "You gonna stand up and give me a hug?" He says the same thing to Savannah at the apartment. The juxtaposition of a hug (supposed to feel loving) with the command to greet him reverently the way he wants (controlling) is so ick. And perhaps it only feels ick because the wives generally do as he wants. Janelle stands and even closes her eyes when she hugs him. Truely was a BOSS when she didn't smile! I love Truely. Truely "I ain't your dance monkey" Brown.
I remember that seasons ago, Truely had learnt from Christine that she decides what happens with her. I kind of remember that Truely herself ended that horrible bike-riding-teaching incident with Kody. He forced her to ride a bike. 🤢

And Aspen's husband, Mitch was so kind and loving, taught Truely to ride a bike!♥️ So glad Truely has such loving sisters , brothers, inlaws to love up on her!
Yes, Kody commands the wives/daughters to do something. Janelle should have ignored that request for a hug. The guy ignored your daughter's birthday/Christmas. No hug. Kody knows he can get the required action he wants. He uses a soft voice to gain control. It's very telling & sad.
Maybe if the OG3 had left Kody sooner, a tragedy would have been avoided.
Poor Truly, she never get love from her father..He was in Robyns house kissing/loving that family from she was born.. She must have a broken heart.. She didnt get no care( water) so she neaty died, that damage her soul for rest of her life... poor poor girl..

With Meri it's extra creepy manipulation. He hasn't talked to her for years and when he does she giggles and gets flush as if lhe's flirting with her!

Winn Brown was an abusive man. He thought that Kody might be gay. Kody said it himself. His classmates said he was obnoxious and they thought he might be gay.

Who cares if Kody is gay. That is not the problem. He is a bully, abusive, he does not relate to women, he does not even try to understand women. Kody treats women like toys for his pleasure. He fathered 15 kids. If he is gay, that is a lot of sex with women.

Winn especially did not approve of Kody's choices. He was not a favorite child to him. He saw him as a disappointment. He did not think he would make a good husband let alone plural husband.

Another manipulation tactic that pops right to the forefront here is when Kody was taking each of the wives to Flagstaff to “figure out” if this is where they wanted to move to. When it was Christine’s turn, Kody says in a confessional, that he has Christine’s number. He knows how to get her on his side - he’s making it her “special birthday trip” - he’s going to focus on Christine and give her all the love and attention she wants so she will agree to move to Flagstaff. Kody knew she was going to be the hard sell on moving from LV. He openly admitted that he was going to manipulate her to get what he wanted - the move to Flagstaff in order to further isolate each of them from their families and any community they had built in LV. It was absolutely disgusting. I had all the creepy vibes listening to him talk about that manipulation and how he was going to play it out.

Yes, it shows how disconnected he is with her. It is like watching a grown man try to talk to a child he has never met, super awkward.
You forgot the most classic one with Ysabel when he refused to go with her for her scoliosis surgery. He knew she was devastated by it but he taunted her asking if she was going to be a disgruntled wife (paraphrasing). You could tell by her body language that she was very uncomfortable. Yet he continued prodding her asking her if she was sure. Gotta watch that one for sure.

Kody '"apologizing" to Isabelle for not being there for her when she had her surgery . " Is this going to make you a bitter old housewife?" he asked ........Maybe I have the wording wrong...but yes. He is so awful. I really feel bad for Truly in that clip. I forgot about that weird bitter manipulation of the situation when he was supposed to be saying goodbye to her. Mary spent so much time on the sidelines that she looked genuinely surprised he wanted input from her. Only when he needs her to sell his idea. He made her feel guilty and unworthy of his love. He threw bread crumbs her way to get her to do his bidding. Totally agree.

Why did Kody mention "a bitter OLD housewife" to a daughter. It makes no sense who calls a daughter that? Kody is always projecting his thoughts. He saw the OG3 as bitter, old housewives. He calls a wife questioning him over anything: NAGGING.

You do not speak to a child that way for whom you are refusing to give her fatherly attention by back biting her mother. Kody is just a monster. His child cried out for him after surgery. If K was any kind of man, he would have gotten on a plane to see her. He wanted all the kids for his former religious belief. He does not get to bail when his lust is being satisfied at the expense of 13 bio-children.
That part with Truely makes my skin crawl. I had an absent dad and anytime my mom was making positive life decisions for us he would act that way. Try and manipulate me into talking bad about my mom or the new situation. Ugh poor Truely. 💔

The third clip with Truely was so awkward. "Where is your smile?" A compassionate dad would not put his child on the spot. He would not make the child feel uncomfortable. One more piece of evidence that Kody never learnt how to deal and connect with the girls.
I wonder how he now has a sudden compassion and understanding for Robyn's daughters. It's all so strange...

The absolutely most horrible verbal “abuse” under the guise of Kody,with his fake ,drippy smile occurred at McMansion at a .birthday party for Ariella.Only some of the OG kids attended- Ysabel,Truely,Mykelti and Meri .Suddenly,Kody burst forth with one of his soliloquy’s ,telling Ariella what an absolutely amazing young woman- I think she was maybe 4?.He went on and on and on.Then the camera focused on Truely’s face and the look she had haunts me to this day.Here was her dad spending ridiculous amount of time on the virtues of the birthday girl.If Truely had even be given a crumb of attention and adoration from her dad who was canoodling around with wife #4 pre wedding and at the exact moment Truely’s mom was about to give birth.and the attention and care she received went downhill from there.Disgusting.
The scene you showed also reminded me about the “talk” Kody had with Ysabel asking if she was going to be like a bitter sister wife because he was not going to be with her to support her scoliosis surgery because he couldn’t leave his family for that long.I am sure Ysabel would have appreciated a few days to get her over the first few days post op….disgusting and now I have to stop to lower my blood pressure.

What about the time when he was trying to teach Truley to ride a bike? Or when Christine first wanted to move back to UT and he acted so excited when she they talked one on one? I believe that even Meri said that he would ask her to say certain things, fix situations and "tattle" on her sister wives for him, all in order for her to gain favor with him. Sobbem, would also manipulate Meri by telling her to hang on... they both (kotex and robbem) disgust me.

He really wants Meri’s money,so he has to try to include her in the conversation.
I think he does it to keep the women in turmoil. Making them vulnerable in front of each other by forcing them to say something when they didn't want to or weren't comfortable kept them in a state where they couldn't trust each other. Making them confront each other in front of everyone created animosity and kept the attention off of him.

About Truley she became one step closer to basement daughter once Solomon was born, then Ariella . Now Truley is in a storage container in the basement, in a manner of speaking .imo not even a chicken foil meal for vegetarian Truley. Bargen basement birthday party for Truley .
Kody didn't want "dumb" Robyn to be the head wife . He wanted Meri to have that power but Meri was smart enough not to go down that path.
I think Kody manipulated Meri into thinking courting Robyn was her idea.

This beginning makes me remember when he got a Christmas gift from his father. Kody wanted something like shoes for wrestling. Instead, his father gave him insulated coveralls because he commented how cold he would get helping his father on the ranch. I'm pretty sure that has to do with his poor spending habits now. He wanted what he wanted, period. Above all, he doesn't like to share! What's his is his, what's yours is mine as well. Hence the fit he threw when Meri bought the B&B.😂
They all ticked me off when meri wanted the b&b. No one wanted to help yet all wanted an opinion and a piece of the pie. That's one reason I couldn't feel sorry for Janelle when they didn't help her build or buy a home for her. She was one that was critical to meri about buying the b&b. I bet meri is glad she did it on her own. Kody nor any of them can have a claim.
I remember a counseling session with Nancy with Kody and the 4 wives. At one point she said something like “I’ve known you, Kody, for a long while now and you seem to always get your way” insinuating it was through his charismatic manipulation. I took that as saying he waits them out until he gets what he wants. Like a toddler 🙄
and the wives laughed about it but you could tell Nancy did not intend that to be a compliment. I wish I could remember what season it was but it stood out to me that Nancy was actually taking part in her own session and was calling him out. I’ve never been a fan of hers, but this session was good. 😉

I don't particularly appreciate that he does that with Meri considering he doesn't care about her being in the family. I see my ex-husband in that behavior. So gross!

Truely has always stood up to Kody. She was about 3 and Kody wanted Truely to fist bump with her and Truely said, “no thank you daddy”…. Then the time he traumatized Truely so bad she still can’t ride a bike and he was teaching Solomon how to ride and insisted Truely learn too, she finally told Kody it was HER body and she didn’t want to do it… when Christine left she and Janelle were talking about Yruely seeing Kody…. Christine said Truely had never spent the night away from her…. Well maybe the time she went to SF and Truely ended up with kidney failure BUT Christine knows Truely isn’t comfortable around Kody.
My absolute favorite daddy moment was when Truely was up on a mountain and afraid to come down…. David didn’t shame her, he went up that mountain and came down with her. Oh wait…. Favid isn’t daddy Kody.
Christine was right getting Truely away from Kody before Kody had more time to hurt her. Now when Truely sees Kody it’s intentional and he spends time with her instead of the day to day opportunities to realize her daddy has kids he actually rather spend time with

Meri was the one to sit down and tell Kody not to come to drop off at school when Truely sick. No idea if he did more than nap between visits to the hospital. Seemed set up. It was proper for Meri to say that to Kody. But I wonder if it was just her getting him out of a trip. We know Robyn required him for trips for the kids to see their dad. But Meri can drive to Utah alone.
It's so obvious that he has NO relationship with Savanah & Truely, it's like he's talking to strangers 😔 I feel for Mary in those moments, she's soooooo desperate to piece the life she wants back together & he cruelly uses it against her 🥺 I just LOVE your Lives & happy you've teamed up with James ... yall spill all the common sense 🥰

This was fun. Part deux, or duh, here’s my problem with his manipulation: the man spends money like a lottery winner. Not the smart kind w lawyers & accountants, but the kind who go broke in less than 5-10 years by spending wildly because they can’t count that high.
Show us some of the ridiculous ways he manipulated the wives’ money and mentioning at Coyote Pass how Robyn needed to stop accepting the OG wives’ table scraps and get what she wants. I mean, she had already screwed them over w her debt, (what do I do when I need to pay the light bill? Put it on the counter?) daily living expenses and smashed everyone’s hopes and dreams to smithereens.. he’s a fantastic narcissist using triangulation to compare and destroy. That took manipulation and a personality disorder, too.
That WOULD be a good video! I'm writing down the idea to collect info on Robyn's draning the Brown family funds.
@@SeniorPerspective-123 she was pretty skilled at guilting and taking advantage of others, more aimed emotionally and financially, toward Meri - but they all played a part in her 5 person tragedy.
Starting with the older girls she wanted to be the cool mom for; and that was when Kody was driving 4 hours each way to court her and pimped out the daughters as babysitters/chaperones. Maddie I remember her saying, she had only gone once and they definitely weren’t close (she & Robyn’s forced enthusiasm) like an episode tried to portray.
Sometimes I think we’ll never know what really happened from the beginning. All I know for certain is that Christine had Robyn’s number. She knew. She really understood what the future would bring.

I thought of that too. OMG, i hope it doesn't happen. The girls seem to be such nice girls although i rarely ever see them. I posted somewhere tonight that i worried about them not being out and about and making friends and they're old enough for boy friends but maybe Kodys lusting for them. Please Lord NO! Do you think Robyn would want her daughters to be with him? I don't really like her but i think she has some brains and would not allow such a thing to happen. But, really she needs to let them get out of the house and have fun.
Remember when Kody was talking to Ysabel about bailing on her surgery and asked her if she was going to be a 'Bitter Old Housewife' aka hold him accountable for being a terrible father??
Or when he took Christine on a 'Romantic Birthday Trip' to Flagstaff so he could try and get her excited to move there- aka manipulate her into moving so Robyn could follow Dayton to college??
Or when he talked everyone into shilling crap jewelry instead of opening a gym?? Or when he made a literal presentation with a posterboard about building one big house???

Cody thought he would cut Christine off in the bedroom, and they would go back to counseling and things would go back to normal again.... I really don't think he ever expected Christine to say bye-bye to his manipulations. He had this whole plan but what he didn't plan on was Christine saying I don't need to take this shit. The whole distance and then therapy thing, he's used that over and over and over
YUP! He totally underestimated her. And overestimated his power and control.
I find it weird that in the first two clips, Kody turns to Meri for support. The person he's cared least about. He apparently was thinking that now that Meri got his attention, she would back him up?? I think this could be a behavioral pattern from "the old days", before Robyn.

I know right?, Kody to me from the very start has shown us who he is, the sports car while the wives drove POS mini vans, the OG3 and their kids had to struggle and always make do or do without and as you said he got what he wanted, the Halloween when he was the sun said it all, he has everyone else do his dirty work, it only took Christine to take her finger out of the dike for it to all crumble, you can see how he manipulated the OG3 to move to AZ so that he could use the equity in their homes to fund his and Robyn's dreams, Coyote Pass was an investment, in Kody's mind the wives' money was his money and the real reason he was mad at Christine.
Speaking about manipulation… remember the episode where I believe he had a meeting with the 4 wives about moving to Flagstaff and he even had presentations printed up for them and a white board for his ideas. I thought I we were viewing a car salesman at work. Robyn kept her head down initially to not give away her lack of surprise. I think she was the only wife who knew what was coming.
And all the time he worked on the plans for one giant house in Flagstaff and never told anyone what he was doing. Christine kept saying he had a secret he wouldn’t share. Then he presents the idea at a Christmas party when the wives can’t say what they think in front of the kids. They are cornered and taken by surprise. I think he was hoping for more backing by the kids to gang up on the wives.

To be fair I don’t think Kody was the golden child with his dad maybe totally enabled by his mom but I think his dad was never pleased with him. Kody always tried for his dad’s approval and I don’t think over all he ever got it.
It's an unpopular opinion but I say the wives were always in a pissing contest with each other always wanting Kodys attention and favor no matter if their kids had to suffer. Christine even admitted to being a yes wife. Kody wanted his way and to gain his love they did it until they finally saw they weren't getting anywhere. Kody only got worse.
Robyn gets her way by giving Kody his. He wants sex and constant devotion and she wants money and to go and do as she wants. It's transactional love.

She is not a great housekeeper but i think the 2 oldest girls help a little but as kids learn from their mother i'm sure the girls really don't want to be housekeepers either. So they probably don't do much and i wouldn't blame them, after all they used to have a housekeeper but don't know if she still works for them. So, it is definitely a strange sight to see them with their winter coats and scarves around their necks sitting around outside chatting in the cold. However, it could be something else......like the opposite and maybe they have beautiful new furniture, huge tv's, comfortable sofas, plush carpeting etc and they don't want the other wives to know how well they're doing because as of just recently the OG3 gave Kody money every month (don't ask me why, i dunno ) but likely something that Kody insisted they had to do and the girls believed him. But now that thing of them giving K and R $$$$$$ has ended. I may be way off and wrong about it but whatever, i hope they find jobs like normal people have to do..

My brother worked many sales jobs the first 15 years of his work life. Then he went into banking (still a type of selling). After all the years of trying to get our mom and me to buy into whatever he was selling so he could make more commissions, I became quite adept at seeing people with similar personality traits to watch out for. And whenever I’d go shopping for a car, I’d get these fools who’s first question would be “what color are you looking for?” or “we have some really pretty cars on the lot.” As for me, before I’d even thought about car shopping, I’d do weeks or months of research on which were the safest cars, the best resell value, most reliable, etc. I had questions about V6 vs. V4 engines, and these sexist jerks were asking what COLOR I wanted, as if something a superficial as that would be the top deciding factor. As life went on, I’ve come across many similar people, and I stay as far away as I can!

He told Robyn from day one he wasn’t in love with Meri anymore, or ever. He probably wasn’t in love with any of his wives and he told her that. He said it was easy to fake. He faked it all the way from the time he got together with Robyn. Who knows he could be faking with Robyn, now, too! He has a lot to lose if they divorce. They were conning the family from day one of Robyn joining the family. Why else would he and Robyn make that “sacred covenant?” I really disliked how he spoke to Robyn, it was so condescending. It was so slow and just pitiful! I really don’t like him. I would have walked away from him at that moment and kept on walking. They covet money above all else. I would have loved to be a fly in their house when they got home.
First of all, it's "the cat that swallowed the canary" not the "bird that ate the mouse". 🙄 But the reason Kody turned to Meri for a response was because in the past, as head wife, Meri was always the enforcer and Kody could count on her to come in with both barrels blazing a put the errant wife in her place and back Kody up 100%. But Kody hasn't spoken to Meri for so many months at this point, and she was no longer head wife, so she had no idea what he wanted her to do. She's a neutered toothless tiger. And Truely's uncomfortable demeanor around her own father told me way more than what Kody was trying to GET her to say, which was that she didn't want to go to Utah.

I disagree with Meri being one foot out the door at Christine’s departure. I think the only time she had one foot out the door was during the catfishing. Other than that, she’s been all in, pining away in her large home, all alone, for years.
I can’t feel bad for Meri for staying for yearssss in that ridiculously bad situation. Who knows what they experienced behind closed doors but after the years of neglect and him being forced to celebrate their anniversary on that horrible picnic… Him flat out saying people who aren’t happy should leave.
