Did you all notice in his picking her up gesture, his hands were fists, there's obvious tension there. And he made a pushing away movement with both hands as he released his fists, kind of like throwing her away from himself. It's crazy how Mark talks about Cinderella and her shoes because whenever I leave the house I always tell my kids make sure you have shoes on because you never know what can happen it is our security because you never know if you run out of gas and if you're wearing sandals mark is absolutely correct about our shoes being our security
I really like this format of showing the part of the clip you are referring to while you explain. It helps see the exact point you are referencing. And this guy is just pure evil.
It’s an honor to listen to your thinking and analysis of body language. Brilliant analysis. May Natalee’s family and friends somehow find solace in having answers although very disturbing. My heart and prayers go out to them. ❤️ 🙏💔
YES, he has finally confessed. You guys were spot on, as usual 👍 What's so offensive about this whole case is that he was already in prison before for murdering a young woman, Stephanie Flores. And he's now likely not being charged for Natalie Holloway because of the immunity deal her family agreed to in exchange for his full cooperation. This man is a menace and will do it again 😩
Peru caps how long a person can spend in prison, regardless of the crimes committed, and between the second murder and then having drugs smuggled in to the prison, he's already at his cap.
Great analysis! The side look and looking for approval is something I noticed. It was also scary to see the micro eyebrow.. He was trying so hard to hide it and not ... I learn so much for you all. Thank you..
I was under the impression that all three of the guys attacked her in or near the car. If she was beaten and barely conscious Vandersloot probably did use something like a cinderblock then buried her. Beth Holloway deserves a special place in heaven for never giving up. Empathy…🙏❤️🕊
Post confession. He didn't forget his shoes. He needed to lose them because he kicked her in the head hard enough to 'knock her out or even kill her'. His shoes most likely had her blood all over them.
It gave me shudders when he described picking her up as his arms motioned picking up and there was a flick of the wrists as if throwing her into the ocean.
JVS had a reputation for sexually assaulting female tourists on Aruba the night before leaving. His victims always caught their return flight home rather than going to police. His parents knew this and while grounded he snuck out that night.
Goodness, this confession was disturbing to listen to. My heart completely breaks for this poor girl and her family. I can't imagine hearing how your daughter was killed as he described it. (I can't even type it out because it's so evil.) As always, you four are amazing with your analyses.
I hope once he is allowed to be extradited back to USA, he gets a life sentence without parole. Even at 17 he acts smug, entitled, haughty. He became a monster at a young age. In light of his recent confession, on the anniversary of Natalie Hollaway’s disappearance, and this early interview with Chris Cuomo, your analysis of Joran’s behavior is very enlightening and complimentary to the known history of this arrogant double murderer. He seems to be still be quite a narcissist. His self-importance is as big as his body size. He still sounds unrepentant. Thanks for your insights and thoughtful approaches to the “mystique of human behavior”. Very knowledgeable! 👍👍👍👍❤️
Chase, I could be wrong but many Europeans whose first language isn’t English often get ‘in’ and ‘on’ mixed up. Even those who are otherwise amazingly fluent. Example. ‘The horse is in the field’. Said as ‘The horse is on the field’. Totally understandable language error.
My first time in Mexico I was drunk & fell asleep outside. My "friends "let me sleep outside all night. I woke up at sunrise, walked to see the sunrise over the courtyard. There was a hill & on top was a little park. It was adjacent to hotel. There was a man creeping up!! He was obviously bent over hiding, coming my way. I turned & went into the room. So " friends or acquaintances will leave you, no regard for safety. Look at the friends that went to Mexico & the girl got beat to death in her hotel room, by a friend, video tapped by friends.
To be honest, in Dutch we say "we zitten in het zand" translation to English is literally "we are sitting in the sand". I'm not saying that's why he said it the way he did but it's possible it's because it's the Dutch way to say it. Just for your information 😅
Wow - this was a very interesting resolution to your initial assessment. It was so instructional to link where you thought he was deceptive in the Cuomo interview to the actual confession tape. I also appreciated your editing, using a double screen of the Cuomo footage with the pop out of you four analysing each segment, so we could easily see what you were talking about. Lots to learn here. Did anyone else notice how weird the last segment of his "confession" tape sounded. He lost fluency when talking about disposing of the body in the ocean. I wonder if he actually was alone when the body was disposed of.
Excellent video. I remember this case vividly from back in the day and these videos gave me the chills back then. I felt it was so obvious he murdered Natalie. I remembered him smiling in the video back in 2005 and wondering WHF is this guy SMILING ABOUT?? That's so ODD. GUILTY.
This has nothing to do with this particular video but just thought I would let you know that the Mushroom woman you did a video on has been charged. "Erin Patterson arrested over mushroom lunch that left three dead in Leongatha, police provide update". It would be great to see you do another video on her as this progresses along. Love the channel.
I really love these before & after type videos! I hope you do more that are even a little bit similar. When viewers have already seen the original, it makes it a bit easier to focus on the body language. Love it!!!❤
Criminal defense attorney here. I think he deliberately threw his shoes into the ocean because he was concerned they might have blood or other evidence on them, and this is why he smiled at the question as to whether he panicked. He didn't panic at all; he thinks this was a great bit of hiding of evidence on his part.
Good job with the editing! Youre including snippets of the specific actions as you talk about them more! That’s exactly what we’ve all been asking for!!! THANKS!!!
He said that there was a lot of other couples on the beach. Why did nobody see 👀 him attacking Natalie? He had a sinister plan before they ever walked out of the bar. I think that he put something in her drink and whatever it was didn't incapacitate her like he hoped that it would have. (He planned on S.A. her without her being physically capable of running, or fighting back). *** She wanted nothing to do with his plan and She rejected him and tried to fight back. He was not going to take, "NO" for an answer. *** I believe that he S.A. then he murdered her and called someone to help him transport and dispose of her body. If he truly walked out to knee deep water and pushed her body, wouldn't some evidence have washed up to shore? What did he do with the cinder block that he claims that he hit her with? *** He's lied many times. I think that he told just enough truth to pass the lie detector test, but he lied about some of his actions and he left some details out. *** I believe that he did the same things to both of his victims. *** He's said that Natalie would never be found. (I believe that he took her to a construction site and had concrete poured over her body). I honestly don't think that he just pushed her body while in knee deep water ,taking the risk of her body washing up on shore,or clothing, or other Evidence. *** I hope that he is miserable for as long as he breathes for everything that he did to his victims and for the loss and pain that he has inflicted on their families.
As horrific as this confession is , Chase, Scott , 28:19 Mark & Greg take the first interview apart extremely well. Scott “ his eyes get real wide “ around the point of leaving his shoes and it looks like dupers delight. Chase I for ONCE heard what you were about to say ! When Chase says he left Natalee “ IN THE - ON THE SAND.” Mark, love the importance of shoes and the the Cinderella story “in a panic she leaves a shoe behind.” The same thing happens here he left his shoes behind probably in a panic as well. Greg at this same point in time saw arrogance not dupers delight. I lean more towards arrogance as well. I spotted the part about wanting to leave to go home now because he “ wants to go to school the next day!” As if going to school was on his mind at all , no way! Thank you Behavior Panel for an excellent learning experience. As always thank you for your time. See you again next week ❣️
Because if he had any, he wouldn't have ended up here anyway. Remember, again, assuming he's telling the truth, which the Holloway family has chosen to do - this is a guy that clubbed a girl with a cinderblock because she refused to have sex with him. This is a person 1000% motivated by his own desires.
I remember the boat that went out to sea on the following Sunday. No boats went out on Sundays and one was logged that Sunday. His sleaze dad got involved and said, “no body, no crime.” Basic math. He died about putting her in the ocean by the shore. Big shocker a murderer and liar giving testimony. 🤥 Thanks, guys, for a great analysis.
The last word hasn't been said yet in this case. The confession may be another lie, to gain an advantage in the extortion case. Joran tried to extort money from the Holloway family, promising he would reveal the location of the body. This guy is seriously twisted, that's the only thing we can be sure of.
I disagree. I think a lot of people (especially guys) who had been sexually refused would leave another alone on a beach. Even my daughter’s friends left her alone and drunk at a club in downtown Los Angeles. People don’t always do the right thing or even think about it.
The way he describes picking her up to convince her to go back to the hotel she was already dead. His arms are wide and fists closed depicting he was not supporting someone to stand but carrying someone who can’t walk.
I noticed him saying carrying her. For what? Why was he “carrying her” Most likely she’s already deceased. He intermingles some truths be told into his crime story that he’s trying to hide.
In his confession Joran said that he kicked her in the face. That may have been the reason for making the shoes disappear. When asked about the shoes he wore that fatal night he could simply say 'I lost/ left them at the beach'.
I think he called his father and he is the person that took her out and pushed Natalie into the deep ocean . Knowing that she will never be found . He now says that he placed her in the water but if that's true her body would if washed up on the beach anywhere along the beach ? That didn't happen because we know Natalie was never found .
What a great brake down of this horrible man. The way tou put the video with what your saying really helps. I've learn alot from this video. Thank you. You guys are amazing❤
The "in" the sand vs "on" the sand. If he is Dutch, could it be a difference of how they say it in Dutch and he is translating directly from Dutch to English? Just and idea.
I even commented on your original vid to this. I knew he carried her into the ocean . I think sometimes we forget just how massive an unforgiving the ocean is. We think she would’ve been washed in, would’ve been able to track the currents, there would’ve been something that would wash back etc. But if you think of the amount of ppl that drown and are never found it just goes to show how easily the ocean can swallow you. Great work guys I loved what you guys seen/heard I was on the same page.
My daughter worked for a couple that vacationed in Aruba. My daughter went wind surfing and said she got blown away from shore. No one told her the wind & currents went away from the shore & she was rescued by some kind fisherman. Van der Sloot definitely knew about the ocean there
Hi Chase,🌴Greg,🌴Mark🌴and Scott🌴, I LOVE YOUR NEW APPROACH to teaching us in YOUR EPISODES! (I don’t know how to say what I mean🙄 but hopefully you’ll get what I’m trying to say.) THANK YOU FOR THIS! LOVE YOU GUYS AND ALL THAT YOU DO FOR US.🌸🩷🌸
If he's a psychopath/sociopath, it probably wouldn't occur to him that leaving a woman alone on a beach at night would morally be the wrong thing to do. In his mind, he was finished with her at that point, and his needs would have been what was important to him - i.e. going home.
Joran also had known anger issues as a teen he was being treated for, and allegedly goes home to get his father to help get rid of the body. Then they secure a boat and dump body at sea. The tide washes the crime scene away. Five years to the day he murders another young lady in one of his rages and walks away. He was beaten in prison. He claims to have found God.
On a Dutch streaming service called Videoland, there's a new 4 part docu about him with very recent interviews with a journalist. It's a very interesting documentary and you see how egocentric and evil he is.
Wow he even says in that moment in time he left her at the beach. Because killed her and wanted to get away not leave and go to school. Crazy how he told everyone what happened in a way and took this long to get em
"sitting in the sand" vs "sitting on the sand" may also have been the result of a language slip, as it is not unusual in Dutch to say that you sit in the sand rather than on the sand.
Yeah that was my thought as well. It is most common in Dutch to say '*in* het zand zitten', and it sounds like he does struggle a bit with English to the point where an error like that isn't unusual.
Can't believe he confessed! In a way it's refreshing to hear a guy you're analyzing say the truth, for a change! Imagine if Jodi Arias told the truth. It's almost underwhelming.

That would be awesome on a t shirt
In Dutch 'sitting in the sand' means 'sitting ON the sand'. So it doesn't actually needs to mean anything.
yes, we went through this the first time they published this video… 🌊
Is he Dutch?
yep

There is no emotion while recounting this, that's scary as all hell 😳😳
Love the new format.
Agreed
Wonderful Halloween Treat ❤
Thank you for the review. Love the channel! 😍😁
I agree..also he was only 17 years old himself.
I agree, people get left alone drunk all the time even by "friends"
Very nice cultural/ mythological link from Mark- Cinderella and her lost shoe:)
I enjoyed the editing of this video. 😊😊
You guys are just amazing. Thank you for all the work you put into these videos❤
The way he describes picking her up to convince her to go back to the hotel she was already dead. His arms are wide and fists closed depicting he was not supporting someone to stand but carrying someone who can’t walk.
Good detail
I noticed him saying carrying her. For what? Why was he “carrying her” Most likely she’s already deceased. He intermingles some truths be told into his crime story that he’s trying to hide.
In his confession Joran said that he kicked her in the face. That may have been the reason for making the shoes disappear.
When asked about the shoes he wore that fatal night he could simply say 'I lost/ left them at the beach'.
He is a wretched human being. Rip Natalee 😢
I think he called his father and he is the person that took her out and pushed Natalie into the deep ocean . Knowing that she will never be found . He now says that he placed her in the water but if that's true her body would if washed up on the beach anywhere along the beach ? That didn't happen because we know Natalie was never found .
Always thought the same ,, right when this was all happening ,, so many years ago 😢
It’s crazy that a read that interview similarly especially the moment near the huts
What a great brake down of this horrible man. The way tou put the video with what your saying really helps. I've learn alot from this video. Thank you. You guys are amazing❤
Ah....this guy. Tragic the way he toys with truth; like he would let a slinky flop down a set of stairs, callous and flippant.
The "in" the sand vs "on" the sand. If he is Dutch, could it be a difference of how they say it in Dutch and he is translating directly from Dutch to English? Just and idea.
In Dutch it's indeed "in" the sand but I don't think he's literally translating when he speaks.
I like this format! Definitely internet in more videos on how you would question and interrogate !
Women are told to be blunt and say no, but when we do we get killed or, humiliated or injured.
Exactly. Can’t win. And there’s always going to be entitled, terrible men that take advantage of their superior size. Ugh.
Great work guys I loved
what you guys seen/heard I was on the same page.
LOVE YOU GUYS AND ALL THAT YOU DO FOR US.🌸🩷🌸
When Mark came up with the shoes being left there I got to thinking how right he is.
Loved the video editing in this one 👍🏼👍🏼
I have to say, this was genius guys! I learnt so much. It shows you were spot on!
He "kicked her in the face, hard" I'm sure he did that multiple times and got blood on his shoes, they could not return with him.
Wow Mark was exactly on point.
When challenged he reminds me of Ramirez ( The very first The Behavior Panel I watched )
I love Scott He calls it like he sees❤ it and gets no guff from me!
On a Dutch streaming service called Videoland, there's a new 4 part docu about him with very recent interviews with a journalist. It's a very interesting documentary and you see how egocentric and evil he is.
absolutely chilling confession.....
You guys got it right from the start 🙌🏼 amazing skills 🙌🏼
I agree Scott, he wasn’t raised right! I’d never leave anyone alone on the beach especially in a foreign country!
Wow he even says in that moment in time he left her at the beach. Because killed her and wanted to get away not leave and go to school. Crazy how he told everyone what happened in a way and took this long to get em
This video shows the true value of body language as not finding deception or truth but Reading between the lines?
"sitting in the sand" vs "sitting on the sand" may also have been the result of a language slip, as it is not unusual in Dutch to say that you sit in the sand rather than on the sand.
Yeah that was my thought as well. It is most common in Dutch to say '*in* het zand zitten', and it sounds like he does struggle a bit with English to the point where an error like that isn't unusual.
Can't believe he confessed! In a way it's refreshing to hear a guy you're analyzing say the truth, for a change! Imagine if Jodi Arias told the truth. It's almost underwhelming.
