- Im not sure of the exact workings of Kecleon, but this strategy worked for me.
Howling Forest seems to have a really high chance for Kecleon shops, thats why i did it there.
Pokemon ability: Friendly
Items I used:
- X-Ray Specs to find the shop
- Friend Bow (solar cave 20th floor)
- Escape Orb
- Evasion Orb
- Inviting Orb
- Power Up Orb
- Empowerment Seed - เกม
Keckleon: watches you pick up all his inventory and then go mega form
*Also Keckleon:* quietly grabs shotgun from underneath cash register

There was a good glitch in the first few games, if you gave the enemy reviver seeds their health would double each time, I was able to get a mewtwo with 800+ health

Blue rescue team also allowed every pokemon to have a wall breaker IQ, in explorers of time only Palkia had that (I think)

I freaked the FCK out when I first got chased by him, admittedly I just accidentally walked out of his area and that’s when I learned never to mess with him again.
i know right? first time i tried to steal from him and i got absolutely destroyed by him.
I fucking lost all my shit on Mt Freeze post game cause i accidentally stole from him, i dont even remember how i did it, and i guess you cant get rescues on the upper floors even though the transition is seamless after the first time through? Normally I don't notice or care about autosaving in games, and in BotW its a godsend when i die being a dumbass and was too engrossed to remember to save, but in this game? Absolute fucking nightmare and the worst feature they have ever added, i wanna throttle whoever's idea it was. The quicksave/friend rescue system has always been broken, the risk of losing all your stuff should you make the choice to save after losing was always a mess, it was better to just start the dungeon over than even bother risking not being able to get a rescue or try rescuing yourself with weaker teammates in Super. I keep hoping they'll fix it, and they somehow made it worse! Now they pretty much force you to use Friend Rescues, cause you lose ALL of your money and ALL of your items this time (what the hell) if you give up, and thats okay now while theres still a lot of active players doing online rescues. But this game will get old and people wont play as much anymore. What if one day they shut down online compatibility altogether like they did with the DS games? The autosave alone will make the game very much less enjoyable at that point, and potentially impossible for some players without an alternative to losing everything and having to figure out how to build up their inventory again if they didnt already have an excessive one or lost key items like the friend bow.
@@Whofan06 Apparently you can close the game and reopen as soon as you die in order to "cheat death". Dying is still annoying (especially since I still haven't beaten Purity Forest) but it helps.

Couple of tips I found made this easier. Use any pokemon with friendly and give them the mobile scarf. Before you start the fight have them stand in the wall and change the tactic to wait. That way if you die you can just use an escape orb and keep all of your items. I did it with a level 57 altaria and friendly primape.

Super underrated comment. I was using Inviting Orb + Friend Bow Mega Hera with Rapid Bullseye hoping that would be enough but after 4 attempts and 4 wasted orbs down the toilet, it felt like it wasn't enough. I did exactly this using Friendly Mr. Mime holding the Mobile and also tried linking False Swipe with Arm Thrust on Hera and it worked like a charm. I'm really curious as to how much Friendly effects Kecleon's recruitment rate, because going from 4 attempts to getting Kecleon within 5 minutes using a Friendly Pokemon doesn't seem like a coincidence.
Man i used to do something similar to this in Mt. Blaze back in the first red rescue Mystery Dungeon he had like a .05 percentage recruitment rate even with friend bow and level 100 i think the moral of the story with Keleon is that stealing had dire consequences in this case a horde of kellies lmao

now they have like 500 hp or 600

Makes sense that the Kecleon you recruited has the special ability "Heimzahlen" (Payback). He'll want his money after all the damage caused to his race and for the stolen goods.
Side note: don't bring any allies because even if they are strong enough you can only recruit pokemon If their ko'd by the player
What is terrifying is the fact that Kecleon has over 400 hitpoints
A pure seed can be used. It takes you to where the stairs are and boom. Your all set and near the exit

what do you recommend to level up the fastest? besides Dojo tickets of course.

Muahahaha now we germans have Kecleon on our side. Wundervoll!
Hiding 2 Pokemon in the walls with both Friendly and Squad Up is also helpful. I did 4 attempts until the purple wind forced me to leave without a recruit but with both of those RQs in the walls, I got it in maybe 10 kills
You can make this way easier with Squad Up, get a full team of 8, and use a Mobile Orb to carve a little room for them to stay, then have one of your teammates on the entrance and set them to Stay There, also give yourself Evasion Orbs and All Protect Orbs, that way you don’t have to heal
Friendly, Invite Orb, Friend Bow, and False Swipe are hitting the maximum boost of +55% recruitment. Squad Up is an unnecessary liability.
Thats crazy that you're powerful enough to verse multiple Kecleons at the same time.
Stat pumping is pretty broken in PMD games, especially given how easy it is to farm vitamins and gummies in RTDX. You're just not meant to have stats in the 100+ range in PMD, let alone stats breaking 200 and nearly 500 HP on top of it...
I used Mega Pinsir with a Storm Throw-False Swipe link. Storm Throw is a super effective guaranteed crit, then Kecleon's Color Change makes it Fighting type, and now it's weak to the Aerilate powered False Swipe.

A good make the dungeon Buried Relic with XRay glasses, use a ghost poke or someone with rare quality "Forge a Path" And you will get a lot of elixirs behind the walls to power up your pokemon.
You can use some pokemon with False Swipe to recruit easier

I feel if they ever announce sinnoh remakes, they going to put mystery dungeons explorers games at the front of the direct... then put sinnoh remakes in the back as a surpise.
The Weavile Sinnoh Remakes are getting announced next year in 2021. that’s for sure because next year is the 15th anniversary of the original games in Japan (Diamond&Pearl got released in September 2006 in Japan). This would mean that PMD2 Explorers Remakes would also get released next year which is completely unlikely. No way would they release a remake of PMD2 just 1 year after PMD1 Remake. It will definitely take 2-3 years until we are getting PMD2 Remakes. Or even longer, which would be really sad because a PMD2 Remake would be incredible. So I think we are getting the Remake maybe in Generation 9. Or on the next Successor of the Nintendo Switch aka Nintendo Switch 2.
Actually, somehow I have a really strange feeling that they will announce a Ranger Remake for Switch right before they announce Gen 4 Sinnoh Remake. However, don’t know why I think this. It just came to my mind after they announced the PMD1 Remake out of nowhere.

Way back years what i did to recruit a kecleon is take a one room orb, move to a patch of water equip a friend bow and normal attack all if your attack stat is high enough. How i miss those days. ☺️

Using a gyarados and a one room orb also to hyper beam/hydro pump them from afar is pretty helpful also.

Can you even recruit Pokemon that are far away from you? You were killing most of the Keckleons farther away with EQ or Hydro Pump. Wouldn't it be better to just kill defeat them next to you to get Keckleon faster?
You can recruit pokemon that are at least 4 feet away from you
I know you can now recruit pokemon even if they are not next to you, but I'm not sure how far does this work.

Is this the same as in the past games? I got one hit KO’d by the first Kecleon, so I had no idea there was a swarm after.
Yes, Kecleons swarm you until you leave the floor. However, what's different is that all other enemies vanish when it starts. In the old games excluding Super Mystery Dungeon, non-Kecleons would stop spawning, but they wouldn't vanish if they were already there. You can't use an Escape Orb or complete a rescue mission if you're chased by Kecleon. Only way out is to exit the floor or retrieve an item for a mission if that's what you were doing

Or you could get them in the late floors of Joyous Tower at level 5 with a decently high recruitment rate without the need of buffing yourself to infinity. To each their own, I guess.
I know this is the way it used to work, however I feel like grinding for this isn't useful, since you won't need these stats anywhere else in the game, while if you want to 100% the game, a Joyous Tower run is needed for the Pelipper rescue thing.

Only in main story dungeons you can see items/enemies on the map. In post-game dungeons you can't, unfortunately.

Hab sogar den Lucario Rang und alle legendären Pokémon bis auf Celebi. Vielleicht hol ich das noch nach ^^

Ich habe es in Himmel etliche Male versucht, aber trotz allem Setup nie geschafft. In dem Spiel musste man ja sogar sterben, sich retten lassen und dann von dem Retter ein Pokémon mitgeben lassen, damit Kecleon mit dem Spieler auf Level 100 und Amberträne/Goldmaske als Item überhaupt eine Rekrutierrate von über 0% hatte. Wenn das bloße Erlegen von hunderten Kecleon schon furchtbar klingt, versuch erst mal, vorher mit einem guten(aka geboostete Werte, gute Angriffsattacken, kein Explosion oder andere selbstschädigende Attacken, da verschwendeter Slot) Level 100 Pokémon als Anführer in einem gut begehbaren Dungeon(da erfolgreiche Rettung erforderlich) zu sterben. Und nein, man kann dafür nicht einfach den Laden ausrauben, weil man dann nicht mehr gerettet werden kann. Das Verlässlichste war noch, so lange Sleimkost zu fressen, bis man hoffentlich irgendwann vergiftet wurde und dann rumlaufen, bis die KP auf 0 fallen. Dann sich von einem Freund retten lassen und DANN konnte man erst mit dem Kecleon-Massaker anfangen. Irgendwann hatten wir beide keinen Bock mehr.
@@rainpooper7088 Ich hab Erkundungsteam Zeit für meinen Nintendo DS und ich glaube es ist unmöglich Kecleon in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon 2 zu recruitieren. Hab das auch mal probiert, so locker 4 Stunden mit Luxtra. Es ist denke ich wirklich unmöglich.
