I happened to have the cute charm glitch when I first got Pokémon platinum in 2009, I didn’t know why I ran into so many shinies until now. Thanks for clearing this up

To my understanding, Jigglypuff was popular in Japan around the time smash 64 was in development because of the running gag in the anime. As for why she was chosen for the roster, I think it's because Sakurai wanted another Pokemon rep but the development team didn't have the time to make one from scratch, so they chose Jigglypuff since she was so similar to Kirby.

Either by Shiny-hunting them (aka pure luck or even modified luck to increase your chances) or by simply cheating them into your game...so in other words, the steps in this are basically the same as with normal shiny hunting, with the only difference being that not just one shiny is guarantees

You are increasing the number of cases in which you get the result you want, but you're still completely blind in regards to how the game works to determine those cases. With RNG manipulation, you are manipulating your luck. You might not be increasing the number of good cases, but you know how the game chooses those cases and you use that to your advantage to predict when it will choose the one you need.

After checking out the step by step and going back to look at my old save file, so much explained to me ATM. I had a female wigglytuff inn my party with cute charm, I got like 10 shiny pokemon inn a day, didn't even know about this glitch, but my secret value turns out to be right, that explains how I meet 4 shiny magikarps inn less then 30 minutes, I tought my game was defect, now I know what triggered this I am going to abuse it, thanks man, your the best poketuber out there 😁

This glitch is awesome. Though just to note, theres only 2 options for getting the correct id/sid. The third option is basically invalid, because if you're already hacking the game, you're either giving yourself shinies, or activating only shinies. No reason to give yourself 21% odds if you're already cheating anyways.
The thing is, hacking to give yourself a different ID is very different than just hacking for forced Shinies. With the ID and using this glitch, the Pokemon will be considered Legal and able to use them to transfer all the way up to current gen and battle with in competition. Just "forcing" a Shiny will not always have a Legal PV or PID.
Doing this with RNG manipulation is actually incredibly easy lol. I did it on my old copy of Platinum. (The fun part is there's thousands of possibilities for cute charm IDs so you can choose a cool set of numbers. I chose 51015 as my trainer id because it's a palindrome ID, and my secret ID is also 51015, lol)

The TID and SID can also be used in combination with the Poketch and changing the DS' clock to frame advance and essentially let ANY Pokemon be guaranteed shiny. Well, it's not even a glitch, it's a quirk - Shininess is determined in Gen 1 and 2 games by the Pokemon's IVs (yes, Gen 1 games can have shinies, it's just... Very stupidly rare as Gamefreak selected IV combinations that don't tend to appear in Gen 1) This has the quirk of any Pokemon with a shiny parent who is the opposite sex (so shiny mother = males having the increased chance) having a 1/64 chance of hatching shiny (Sadly, you can't use this to get shiny female starters nor shiny female Eevee - Pokemon with a 1:7 F:M ratio cannot be shiny if female, none of the attack values that correspond with shininess are low enough)
Thanks for putting me on to this. I tried this today and got it working in under an hour. Honestly, it took me longer to get the cute charm Pokémon than it did to set the ID’s.
Before a full minute into the video I went "Is that Maplestory music???" Then I checked the description and sure enough it was the Mushroom Shrine music. Even when its barely audible hearing 3 seconds of that loop immediately triggered my memory. Nice taste in games my dude.
In Japanese versions of Crystal, the Odd Egg has a 50% chance of being shiny. And in USUM, doing well in the Ultra Warp Ride can give you up to a 36% chance of finding a shiny.

This is interesting, but basically having to hack it to get it working invalidates it, as you'd just hack shinies anyway. But for the like 1 in a million kids who have a save file that naturally works with it... I imagine back in the day they'd be gods in the playground.

The benefit is that it would probably transfer to Pokemon Bank
less work. if you hack a pokemon,you have to triple check to make sure it is legit. otherwise,they will either not les you pass to gen6 or onlineplay will get you banned

This is interesting, but basically having to hack it to get it working invalidates it, as you'd just hack shinies anyway.
But for the like 1 in a million kids who have a save file that naturally works with it... I imagine back in the day they'd be gods in the playground.

@@lexroza6422 really? Maybe try playing them on your pc. The games are small they should actually work good. There are not a lot of DS emulators and most of them suck. But try playing a gba pokemon game on "John gba lite" It's fast and smooth and has a save file modus. For gen 4 idk anything

I did this too, as a randomizer, it makes it so much harder to get the cute charm ability when abilities are randomized, it was a shinylocke actually.

It's so much better to get the shinies legit and so satisfying but I guess everyone's different. I guess I'll go back to hunting legitly my Gastly on Heartgold now.
Hey dude! Love your videos. Could you maybe do a video about the new mystery gift glitch for gen 4? It allows you to get all the Pokemon that were given out as mystery gifts (Legendary dogs, Regigigas, Darkrai, Shaymin, Jirachi, Manaphy, Dragonite, etc) and it doesn't require hacks or cheats
