Excellent video John. Had the same truck as you and had torsion keys adjustment and I cleared with 22x12.50x33s

Thinkin of doing a 4" BDS with 33 open country R/T's on my silverado pretty soon. Im thinkin they definitely wont rub after seeing this vid. Good upload :) I just got my tow mirrors installed too... I promise i'm not copying you lol.
I have a '14 Silverado with 33's with -44 offset and they only rub when im fully cranked going over bumps... mostly in reverse. it also has rough country 3.25' body lift with level and rough country 3.5 suspension lift. The girth and stance always comes with a price

I did not like the rubbing at all on my truck when I put on the 33s nittos. I ended up cutting a bit of the wheel well and hammering in some of the metal behind the plastic trim. It works for me.
@F RR depends on the offset of the wheel I think. I only have a 2inch level you may have a little more clearance than I did on my 33s, I think the were only 11 or 11.5 wide tho. The trimming and hammering I did was minimal, you wouldn't even notice

2016 Silverado with 2.5 inch rough country level on 20x10 -25 offset with 285/55 atturo xt's only rub on the plastic in reverse. Still have a bit of stance with the 10 wides.
Gruve Nasty I have the same set up but with a Zone level kit, same truck year tire package everything else x10 and have no rubbing at all
I have a 2018 Silverado 1500 with a 3.5 Rough Country lift with Ironman MT 33/12.5/r20 on 20/10 -24 wheels. I only have minor rubbing when I have to backup and turn the wheel to almost full lock.

Awesome truck!I have 22x12.5 33's -18 offset with same trailblades on a leveled silverado.I did some minor cutting and bending(2lb hammer) behind the mud flaps.Took mud flaps off,tied back the liner with straps where bulged. Driver side removed factory wiper reservoir,bought a $15 smaller reservoir on amazon put it up top.Easy. I have clearance at least 2inches all sides.Never rubs.

Just need a grinder,some 4 inch cutoff blades,few cuts and a little bending back,some rustoleum auto paint.Took me few hours.1year later no rust.A minor Norcal worked for me.

@@kikscr7392 about 2inches ,it looks perfect...And I can't stand trucks with the wheels stickout.Closer to 0 ya go more flush to fender.-18 perfect.Trail blades run 32.5"also which helps on silverado, great tires.
The best is to do a norcal mod if you don’t wanna lift the truck higher than the leveling kit.
I thought my top hats for struts are bad... but it actually sounds like rubbing now after seeing this video

Ive got the same setup tires with just slightly different wheels at -51.. my are rubbing horrible rn with a full turn and somewhat at 3/4 of a turn going forward. They definitely run a bit more in reverse.. at the moment just being cautious when going into parking lots, making sure wherever i go i wont have to sharp turn.. i didnt think though in around 1k miles the tires will be slightly worn down causing that rubbing to go away 🤔
Good think im going on around a 700 mile trip .. should help wear them down just a bit.

If anyone is intrested,,, Im running 20x10 -24 motometals, 285-55-R20 Atturo Trail Blade AT. 2 inch RC Level, was rubbing that same plastic piece as his in reverse, Trimmed it with a dremel from the most inner bolt inward, flatened down most inner bolt head with dremel, and no more noise. all together maybe cut 2 or so inches of the plastic off.... still looks very clean and stock.
Finally a video on 33's rubbing on a gm truck with a 2-3" leveling kit. Great review man. I bough a 2019 gmc sierra and just bought wheels for it. Just trying to decided if I should get 305/55R20's or smaller, but i'm pretty sure you just made up my mind for me. Thanks
My elevation came with 275/65 r20. No rubbing. Looks like I'm going to have to go with a 10 inch wide tire.
What if I run 295/40/20 will I still rub with 3” level lift..

I am putting on a Supreme Suspension 3.5" front and 3.0" rear lift with a differential drop kit to retain the factory geometry. The tire and wheel combination will not rub either.
Mustang Sally I've got a 2018 with the same setup with the addition of zone norcal mod plates I've got alot of color matched accessories that I'll be installing with custom bumpers also I'm wanting to run a 35 or 295/65 r 20 or 22 I still haven't decided on wheels and tires it will be a 10.5-12 wide though I'll make some videos on the whole project start to finish

'16 and newer must be easier to fit bigger wheel and tire combos. i have a '14 gmc 1500 with just a 2" level running moto metal mo970 20x12 -44 and amp terrain attack m/t 33x12.5x20
i had to do a full norcal, cut a nice sliver off the front bumper for it to not make any noise. it didnt really bother me but my wife was always scared of driving it because of the noise lol
it still rubs some carpet liner but thats no big deal

This video has helped a lot with my wheel/tire selection. Did you use aftermarket lug nuts with those wheels or did you get by using the stock ones?
Will Jimenez appreciate that comment! I’m using aftermarket lugs. They came with the wheels. Honestly have not even tried the factory lugnuts.
So if put on 17s with 33s I wouldn’t rub ?

tunnelvision2day I like them a lot man.. they’ve definitely performed pretty well so far for me in all terrains. I will say though, after 15K on them they are starting to get kinda loud road noise wise.

305 like having 33's i believe. Try 305/50 or 305/45
will this exact tire and rim setup fit in my 2013 2wd extended cab chevy with a 2.5 same leveling kit as yours even with trimming on the sides ?
Garrett Hobbs I’m not really too sure.. I know 2wd trucks sit a lot lower from the factory in general. 33s might be a bit too big. Might get away with like a 285/85 or something on a 20” wheel.
Can you send me the link of where you got the connections to the tow mirrors I already have the mirrors but just have the power and defrost option on my 2018 z71 but I am looking for the harness for the lights to work on the tow mirrors

Having a hard time finding a nice 20x10 that I like. Fully understand why you went with 12 wides, the look is sick and flat out all the nice wheels are 12 wides lol. I put a Motofab 3 inch leveling kit on my 14 Silverado crew cab, can I run 33s on the stock wheels or should I buy aftermarket? Also what’s the recommended offset to fit without rubbing.
Dylan Hamlin you can run them on stock wheels from my understanding but they might touch the UCAs at full lock if they’re pretty beefy and true to size. Seems like a lot of guys get away with a 10” wide wheel with like a -18 to -24 offset with no rubbing.

Dylan. My 2017 3" front with factory 20's they have a +27 offset and I have kept the 275/55r20 tires. And they rub on the front of the upper control arm at full turn.
If ypu put a 3/4 bora spacers do u think itll rub even more?
ElDee e yeahhh on that outside. My experience spacers help with inside rubbing (frames, UCAs, etc.)
Thanks for really breaking it down and showing how it rubs on video. One last question, my Silverado is leveled 2”. Would that mean I’m going to rub on the control arms or the front of the truck ? The back plastic on the fenders I’d be willing to trim, but the front bumper/plastic trim I’m sort of shaky on it

@@duderock1 so same setup… mine didn’t rub control arms until I upgraded to an aftermarket set. Had no issues with the OEM ones. Only the plastics on the fenders.
@@JohnWargo93 honestly if I have to trim I have to trim. It’s a small sacrifice for some aggressive and good looking wheels. Just worried about the control arms being rubbed on the most
@@duderock1 nahhh mine never touched a hair until I got aftermarket UCAs. Then it was only the stock wheels that rubbed them, never my 20x12s
I'm debating between atturo trail blade xt 33x12.5r20 on 20x9 wheels,or cooper zeon ltz 305/50r20...what would you recommend?

I couldn't find the Cooper anymore then found a deal on the Atturo. No complaints. Well actually I lost some acceleration umph due to the weight but it was expected.

Ehh.. the excess weight can prematurely wear components like that however there’s still stock trucks that have wheel bearing and ball joint failure and whatnot.

John, I heard what you said about a safe middle ground with wheels and tires not rubbing. Would you imagine a 33x12.5 tire on 20x9 wheels rubbing on your truck with a 3” front 2” back leveling kit?
John Davis yeah man.. seems like guys running 9 wides or even 10 wides are getting away with running 33x12.50s with no rubbing so I think you’d be safe 🤙🏼🤙🏼

I have an 18 with a 2in leveling kit and 295/70/18 with +18 Moto metal rims and they only rub when backing out and turning. Not too bad or as bad as the set up in the video.
So basically if I want to clear my wheels, I should try and lift my truck Atleast 3.5 so I don’t have to do the NorCal? I have a very similar set up
Unfortunately the square GM wheelwells make it tough! It’s crazy I run 35s on my stock suspension Ram 2500 with no rubbing!

Chris Petersen sake size as well? A 33x12.50 might rub a bit on the UCA or strut with factory wheels. Might need a wheel spacer to bump them out a smidge.

If you have 20x12s with 33 nittos you will rub more also. Atturos are not a true 12.50
If i were to lift my GMC 1500 4in with 33x12.5 with 20R and add wheel spacers will the spacers help keep the tires from rubbing
I’d say you’ll be okay on a 4” lift

Hey i have a stock rst model 2019 silverado . I got a 2 inch level in the front. Its not a trailboss model . I have already purchased 33x12.5 wheels. Will they fit my truck . I rather return them before i start having problems. I will be running 17 inch wheels with 0offset

TechWithDave the issue with running a tall and wide tire on a 0 offset the tires rub on the upper control arms and what not in the wheel well. You need to push that tire away from the suspension a bit with a negative offset or a wheel spacer to gain the clearance for the wider rubber.

TechWithDave good luck brother, can typically bump up a size or so from stock and still clear fine. So if you have 265/75s so can probably fit 275/75s or something like that. Need to get a level, lift, and some negative offset wheels. I’m on a 2.5” level with -44 offset wheels and still have some rubbing. It’s hard with these GM trucks!

Haha maybe. I have a video on here of these wheels on a 2010 Silverado stock suspension and you couldn’t turn an ounce! Lol
@@JohnWargo93 got the rims earlier today, started cutting front of bumper and inner wheel well, front is good now but back i might for what custom offsets did and cut out the fender with a 2 inch level, they had spacers tho

I just bought a 2015 Silverado ltz and I want to get it off the ground a bit but not go overboard and have to replace everything suspension wise, so I was gonna do the motofab 2.5 level with the upgraded ucas with the same wheels and tires you got, do you think it would fit fine?

WOTmorphineHITTER 33s on factory 18s seem to rub on the upper control arms because they don’t stick out far enough. Lol screwed either way or another. It’s all going to depends on what wheel and how much offset. Guys are getting away with 33s on a 20x10” wheel with like -19 offset 🤷🏻♀️

Depending on the offset of the wheel they should be alright.. most guys get away with 33s on a 10” wide wheel on a 3” level

@@dickslap37 lift didn’t effect fuel mileage enough to notice if any. Wheels and tires took me down a good 2mpg both city and highway

If you had -51 offset you think you would have any issues?
Ehhh yeah it’d take a good 2” to clear the fender walls.. best bet is a higher lift, or a 10” wide wheel with like a -19ish offset to tuck the tire in the corner of the wheel well

moral of the story is yes they will rub everytime you hit a speed bump in the mall parking lot. So dodge those an you should be able to make your daily commute on flat pavement with the offroad tires you had to have lmao..
