I was so close to buying one of those a couple summers ago, it was mint too! Dude said he sold it before I got there, I was mad as hell, but I like what I have now.
My Grandpa past away this last year and he had a 2003 chevy 1500 I am going to buy so ya I am looking forward to modify ing it some ways you have I love the older truck vids .
Love your content. I love watching you wrenching on one of your pickups. I’m at the age where wrenching is out if the question for me. I enjoy watching you younger guys doing what I wish I could do.
I literally just ordered this kit for my 01 Silverado Z71.....because of your video. Thanks for posting these bud. Really helps a ton. Been meaning to do a small lift to my old girl for years, just never got around to it till now.
I wish my keys would have came out that easily 😭 I had to beat the crap out of them. But looks great man! Can’t wait to see what plans you have for it in the future .
Thanks for shooting such good video footage because the people that watch this myself and others enjoy trucks in general I own a GEN five ram 1500 4 x 4 😷😜
Omg it looks so frickin good! Great job Lmf!!!!! My opinion though i woulda went with 20s or 22s at the most for a more mud truck build but either way it looks GREAT!
De-badge tailgate, get smoked tail-lights, remove Z-71 decal, paint GMC grille emblem black, remove side chrome trim or paint black, paint front grille surround and bumpers black, get a billet grille insert, and some black wheels. Personally, I think that would look great. Looks good how it is, but I think that would set it off. Makes me wanna get one now.....
Can you try 33's on the OEM rims with spacers? Also for the love of god I would love to see a different exhaust other than true dual straight pipes, longtubes with borla ataks?
My Man you need to keep that trucl just as is... Just put a bumper spacer and remove bottom valance and murder out the windows and your done... PERFECTION
Turn the wheels and record the turning limit. 20x12-51 and nitro 35's worked with my kryptonite level kit with the NorCal mod. I want non nitro 33's because most non nitro are smaller than advertised (32's) and will give more clearance.
i know you said it hits on the bumper ..... but what about in the back of the wheel in the front how bad does it rub the fender .... ive got the same truck with the same level .. and im think about going from 22in stocks and 35s to 24x14s and 33s ... and my fender has the complete norcal mod where the back is slot cut and folded over flat so no pinch weld behind the inner fender ... and my bumper is cut ...had run 20x12s and 33s and spacers before this ....im just trying to be able to to get like 3/4 turn
Nice video. I did the shock spacers in the front and turned my stock keys up about all the way. I have the 3inch lift keys but it rides so rough right now I don’t even want to put the other keys in. Do the shocks make a big difference?
I'm thinking about installing some aftermarket keys... is the a cotter pin on the front that you have to take off so the torsin bar can move back abs forth
Oh that makes sence..rough ride mines got all the factory stuff. Ok now i get it. I like a lift tho n mine seems level. Lol 😊 but old cheap factory or stock makes so much sence. I gotta fix thie problem its driving me nuts. I want the lift tho like back n front
The rear blocks aren’t to get factory rake. Those are so it will be level. But even with the rear blocks in if u want a little lean the keys have a ton more crank and can lean it looks way better with rear blocks.
Literally the truck im wanting to currently buy and look i would go for.. Theres something about the body style im in love eith and its so easy to make it look sexy. Also before the next generation got stupid with electronics and every gen after just got eorse...
The freaking front wheel lean on the ford is crazy!! That truck will never stay aligned unless you put the aftermarket cam adjuster bolts in it. Been their done that. They say it’s “aligned” but without the cam adjuster bolts, it never will be trust me! $25 Moog ones online. Go get em!
Hey man love the vids… I just bought an 03 and I’m highly considering doing what you did here it looks awesome only think I’m concerned about is mileage with these gas prices and of course the ride was thinking maybe some newer factory’s would look really good any tips anyone tire size and rim size anything helps new to driving trucks thanks.
In my experience the lift keys give a little lift but ride rough. I'd go 20s on the wheel or even 17s. The bigger the wheels the less sidewall the rougher the ride unless you go a real lift kit. I took off my 20x12 -44 offset because they destroyed the hubs, wheel bearing. It looks tough but not practical for real world use. And chips will be terrible too !
What kind of tie rods did you get?? I got a set of kryptonite’s for my 1500 cateye and haven’t seen a single install video on them. You’d be the first (or at least the first I can find) for kryptonite.
anyone else super jealous with how spotless and rust free those southern trucks are???
ohhh yeah. PNW cant nice things for shit lol.
Larry is what inspired me to buy a roundbody ford most hate the body style but I love the look, keep it up bro 💯
Hell yea I want one because of Larry too have 2 trucks already might be bad decision
Yeah I’ve never understood why people have so much hate for em they’re not bad looking.
Besides the crash safety rating the 10th gen f-150s are such dependable trucks
@@howdythere2419 Not 3v tritons tho only 2003 and under.
I was so close to buying one of those a couple summers ago, it was mint too! Dude said he sold it before I got there, I was mad as hell, but I like what I have now.
Larry is always looking soooo good!! No matter what vehicle sits next to Larry he always steals the show!! Plus that set up is perfect 👍
I need to find a channel where these guys do all this work on New England vehicles. I've never seen used vehicles this clean!
My Grandpa past away this last year and he had a 2003 chevy 1500 I am going to buy so ya I am looking forward to modify ing it some ways you have I love the older truck vids .
Black wheels on a black truck just sits right with me. Looks absolutely stunning man! Love seeing the GMC on the channel
I guess I'm stuck in the past but it would be alot cooler on 16s with some real tires, but everybody has there own style. Truck is in beautiful shape
You're not the only one
Come on old timers get with the program
It's 2023 Bruh 😂
I get it, i like the oem look always did but lifted on 16s with oem spec tires would look weird with the biiig gap,
@@xxtrapxx get bigger tires
Your so lucky with that rust free truck, I’m from Wisconsin and installed that kit and it kicked my ass. I was hitting on that key for over 2 hours
Love your content. I love watching you wrenching on one of your pickups. I’m at the age where wrenching is out if the question for me. I enjoy watching you younger guys doing what I wish I could do.
I think a 20x12 with 33’s would look real good
Just bought an 05 today, man I'm like a kid before Christmas, can't even sleep tonight thinking of everything I'm going to do to it
The chrome with that wheel and tire set up is damn near perfect!! Especially from the back, mean as hell 😈
Just installed this kit this weekend and I fought with my my torsion keys for 3 hours on each side beating them out you are lucky
It looks like the torsion bar crossmember brackets were replaced that’s good huge pain to change them truck looks good man!!! Love this truck
I love that u have a round body Sierra, I can learn things about my truck
I literally just ordered this kit for my 01 Silverado Z71.....because of your video. Thanks for posting these bud. Really helps a ton. Been meaning to do a small lift to my old girl for years, just never got around to it till now.
What kit is it do you have a link?
I wish my keys would have came out that easily 😭 I had to beat the crap out of them. But looks great man! Can’t wait to see what plans you have for it in the future .
I hear ya! I actually had to cut mine off. Good ol PA.. 🤦♂️
I was thinking the same thing about those keys, when I saw them just fall out...I thought...NO WAY!!! 😳
Love the details and Angles you take on your videos. Awesome content as always 💪🏽
I’m currently shopping for a Sierra all because of chomper can’t wait to find one and build it and give these old trucks the TLC they need
Same. And mine has ti be black 🤣
I love them 24s whewwww even 20s would be sweet. Those rims omg
the best model of sierra
Thanks for shooting such good video footage because the people that watch this myself and others enjoy trucks in general I own a GEN five ram 1500 4 x 4 😷😜
Those wheels look so much better than the new set up
Those 24's look outstanding!
That truck is fricken mint underneath!!
Wow the Alabama life looks nice, Michigan trucks always have tons of rust underneath
I laughed out loud when he said " now ill go grab my new key". I'm so immature😂
Omg it looks so frickin good! Great job Lmf!!!!! My opinion though i woulda went with 20s or 22s at the most for a more mud truck build but either way it looks GREAT!
awesome vid man. keepin up with this sierra content, helps me with my 06 sierra. keep it up✌️
I can’t wait to see where this truck goes. Such a good looking truck. I prefer the front end over a cateye
Man working on rust free vehicles must be a dream
same exact truck cateye white 4 door finna do this setup with snowflakes nice
Loved the vid wish you would have showed us the new keys cranked all the way up just for the video
Nancy Chomper sounds good !😜😷
Gotta be the cleanest year gm made💯💪
De-badge tailgate, get smoked tail-lights, remove Z-71 decal, paint GMC grille emblem black, remove side chrome trim or paint black, paint front grille surround and bumpers black, get a billet grille insert, and some black wheels. Personally, I think that would look great. Looks good how it is, but I think that would set it off. Makes me wanna get one now.....
Looks alot better than it thought it would!
I liked stock rims you had. Personally.
Going from 17’s to 24’s is gonna kill the ride more than anything
im so glad you be rockin black wheels when you run wides, i just dont care for the chrome
24s are super badass love ‘em
Chomper!! Love the truck looks sick man. 🔥💯
Man the black wheels look so good on the gmc
Can you try 33's on the OEM rims with spacers? Also for the love of god I would love to see a different exhaust other than true dual straight pipes, longtubes with borla ataks?
This wheels on that truck are frikkin sick
My Man you need to keep that trucl just as is... Just put a bumper spacer and remove bottom valance and murder out the windows and your done... PERFECTION
super clean, super simple, I LOVE it✨✨
So clean but my opinion it would be even cleaner without the fender flares
🔥🔥🔥 but I would like to see another rim personally…I would stay with black
Looks Great with the 24!
Remove the flares and it’ll look REALLY aggressive 🔥
Yeah but rust lol
Rustyyyy
No just replace them with the ones with the rivets looks aggressive and off roadish
That thing looks 🔥 with 24x12s

That’s the look right there sonny boyo
Larry is my favorite tbh man I just got my self 2001 f150
I think that’s a setup to keep on the GMC 💯
Once again you have inspired me bro I love the look didnt like the round eye chevys but that thank clean
No business going that hard😵💫
the truck looks sick!
i know you said it hits on the bumper ..... but what about in the back of the wheel in the front how bad does it rub the fender .... ive got the same truck with the same level .. and im think about going from 22in stocks and 35s to 24x14s and 33s ... and my fender has the complete norcal mod where the back is slot cut and folded over flat so no pinch weld behind the inner fender ... and my bumper is cut ...had run 20x12s and 33s and spacers before this ....im just trying to be able to to get like 3/4 turn
I would kill for this truck. Hope my dad sees this. Ill be getting my license soon.
Dude love the builds! Gmc would look sick if you could do a video of making an hd hood on it !!! Love it either way
Have you done a video on door seals for these trucks?
Oh that makes sence..rough ride mines got all the factory stuff. Ok now i get it. I like a lift tho n mine seems level. Lol 😊 but old cheap factory or stock makes so much sence. I gotta fix thie problem its driving me nuts. I want the lift tho like back n front
it looks so amazing get it on the graps!!
Looking 👍👌...tint them taillights
Throw a 6 in lift and throw the 1 inch block back in 💪
True duals muffler delete, leveling kit, swap wheels eBay lights sell, buy new truck repeat lol
what that mean
@@presbinz7685 I’m saying like that’s all this channel is about lol like I wana like this channel but the content getting stale
The rear blocks aren’t to get factory rake. Those are so it will be level. But even with the rear blocks in if u want a little lean the keys have a ton more crank and can lean it looks way better with rear blocks.
Well that makes me want to throw my 22x12s on my 33s now that’s in the garage. -44 offset but they should fit nicely with some bumper trim.
I’d keep those wheels, tires. Trim the bumper, and add 2” rear blocks imo
I like the kit, I hate the Black rims and short tires. I am Old School and going with Polished Aluminum Rims on my 2007 Silverado Classic Z71 .
I don't love the rubberbandish look of that specific setup. but the offset is the perfect amount
I agree I’ve never been a fan of the rubber band tires. I prefer a classic 15 inch wheel with a beefy 37
Never measure from top tire to fender. Only measure from center of wheel or axle to fender.
Looks good for a gmc...lol. Would you just build a shop already! Great vid bud, keep it up.
Looks good but I’d go with 20s personally like a little more side wall but it’s your truck for you to do what you want
Looks good, such a classic body style gets better year after year. Maybe try your hand at painting the bumpers and grill?
Nice truck already bro!
Literally the truck im wanting to currently buy and look i would go for.. Theres something about the body style im in love eith and its so easy to make it look sexy. Also before the next generation got stupid with electronics and every gen after just got eorse...
Looks freaking awesome
Those wheels look🔥🔥
Man I doubt you remember but what size were ur stock tires in chomper in this video using the measurements for my truck to compare
That looks real good 👍
Let me know if you want to sell the old rims and tires. Would work on my 2005 sierra. Enjoying the build.
Go get em!
Said the new tires going to be louder than the landspiders? Does that mean a set of grapps are on the way???
Hey man love the vids… I just bought an 03 and I’m highly considering doing what you did here it looks awesome only think I’m concerned about is mileage with these gas prices and of course the ride was thinking maybe some newer factory’s would look really good any tips anyone tire size and rim size anything helps new to driving trucks thanks.
Just take the front lower bumper plastic piece off it’s a couple 10mm bolts to take off and it will give the truck more ground clearance
"In my experience the lift keys give a little lift but ride rough." Now you know why they call the lift..."Rough Country" 😁
My 22 Silverado has a TON of rebound. Feels like I am riding in an old clapped out caddy or something.
those front shocks look like the original tenneco (sp?) red shocks that were on the Z71
I have a 2 inch level kit on my truck and my exhaust is inspired by the exhaust on all your trucks
GMC looking great with them wheels and tires man and I love the stance it has can’t wait to see the set up u going to put on there
That gmc looks great but I wonder how looks if you black out that truck completely 🤔
What kind of tie rods did you get?? I got a set of kryptonite’s for my 1500 cateye and haven’t seen a single install video on them. You’d be the first (or at least the first I can find) for kryptonite.
Yeah it looked better before imo. Everyone has a look they like, not a fan of the huge negative offset
Perfect setup
did he use a spark plug socket for the bottom shock mount
