Thanks for sharing your experience with the RP5! I would LOVE to see examples of Gamecube and PS2 games that have been modified to play in W I D E S C R E E N ! I'd love to see Metroid Prime on the Gamecube and Klonoa 2: Lunatea's Veil on the PS2. However, if that's too much of a hassle, you pick the games. I just want to see how the RP5 handles the widescreen hacks to take advantage of that full 1080p AMOLED screen! Thank you!
If you are looking for some suggestions on what games to try out, here are some i would be interested in to see: Gamecube: Star Fox Adventures Star Fox Assault Beyond Good & Evil Dreamcast: Sonic Adventure Shenmue 1&2 PS2: Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness Exagear (Windows): Sacred Gold
pls play some ps2 games give inputs on color accuracy ( as this is OLED ) play genshin, COD and some games on netflix too like GTA SA and vice city, dead cells too thank you so much!
In US you can get refurbished steam deck from Steam for $280, with RP5 shipping cost, a steam deck is nearly $50 more expensive I feel retro handheld becoming more expensive that they supposed to be
Mine was not nearly that price. i paid about 270 with a screen protector and a protective shell. Shipping was only like 25 dollars. It's also apples to oranges tbh. This thing is like 2x smaller than the steam deck. I just don't think you can compare them.
If you could show some switch stuff running on this that'd be cool and some native android games, I cant wait to play the lego star wars complete sage on mine now that the game got updated on the play store.
Some games maybe will go at 3x but usually the best option is to put at 2x, 2.25x or 2.5x because the emulator don't use all the power the processor has
Whatever game you try, for proper testing, could you please test GC games at 3x and PS2 at 2.5x please ? PS2 games are mostly 448p so 2.5x is the lowest multiplier above the console res. GC are truly 480p but I think that Dolphin can't do fractional multipliers, hence the 3x instead of 2.25x otherwise. But if your Dolphin build allows fractional multipliers, then please not below 2.25x.
Man I am so excited to get my rp5. This made me even more excited. Itd be great to see Legend of Zelda : Link to the Past (SNES) and maybe a ps2 gen first person shooter of some kind? Just trying to think of things I want to play. I intend to install the winlator so I can try some windows games too. Maybe show off some of the windows desktop game streaming apps too
If you could test the following: put it on 50% brightness and point a slo-mo camera (iphone, Android) to the display too see if it flickers. I have a PWM sensitivity and this is a very laic way to tell if it will hurt my eyes. Thanks
please compare with a psvita and psp in terms of feel and ergonomics, especially the screen size and the buttons and dpad feel. bonus if you can make a comparison for ridge racer on the psp vs the rp5. thank you so much!
Its a waste of time spending too much time on ps1 gen and older on this as we know it will handle it fine. Lets see some harder to emulate ps2 games like shadow of the colossus and sly cooper, then just talk about switch emulation without showing it so you dont get put in a black site, and see how it handles winlater. I have an odin mini which i love, but even that with the fact switch emulation has pretty much died does not play switch well. Thinking of selling it for a modded switch lite and the rp5 but need to make sure this plays ps2 without much issue. Dont want to spend more time tinkering settings then playing like the odin 1.
It's surprising to see a map of our country in an unexpected place.
Anyway, thank you for reviewing Retrooid 5. It will be helpful for my purchase.
You're welcome
Hello Ryan, welcome and thanks for your video. Nice style, cheers for the future videos
Thanks so much. I'm glad you enjoyed it
test the latency please
3:46 You VS the guy she tells you not to worry about
😂😂
Hi, Is there a FM radio preinstalled app like the previous retroid pocket models?
I was expecting you to also test the D-PAD. How does it sound? Does it sound the same as Steam Deck? or something like 8bitdo SN30 pro controller?
The D-Pad seems pretty quiet to me. The face buttons (ABXY) are the noisy ones.
Could you test input latency? Seemingly the RP4 (and odin 2) had some bad delay, wonder if the oled screen on this device fixes it.
The buttons are as loud as the mini’s?
Thanks for sharing your experience with the RP5!

I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'll get to work on some GC and PS2 stuff :)
@@RyanRetro1 Thank you! Specifically widescreen versions of titles! There are hacks for this. I want to see how the RP5 handles these. THANKS!
Can you put it next to a phone for a size comparison? :-)
I do that in my First Impressions video :)
Great video, comparison and you deserve way more views.
And subbed 😛
Thank you so much! :)
This is an amazing console...
I just pre-ordered mine too.
Thank you for de unboxing and comparison of consoles.
You're welcome. It's amazing!
I'm getting one but undecided between 16 bit or gc colors.

$280 is an amazing deal! I paid probably around 500 for mine. The Steam Deck is probably the best deal in gaming imo

can you open it up?
I'll let other channels do that because I'll almost certainly break it 😂
I would love to see some Forza Horizon on Gamepass cloud streaming 😊

GeForce Now?! :)
PS2 ... Devil May Cry, Tekken TAG
Thanks!
If you run PS2 content please run it at 3x native resolution which should match the Retroid Pocket 5 resolution at 1080p
Some games maybe will go at 3x but usually the best option is to put at 2x, 2.25x or 2.5x because the emulator don't use all the power the processor has

I'd like to see Netflix games. I could not get Netflix games to work on my mini
199 subs and you get a free RP5 ??? How?
I always wanna see Saturn run on new devices lol
Shame about how bad the speakers are on the rp5

Why would you want to see a SNES game, it'll run fine, just wait for yours.
@@Nexii801he asked what we wanted to see. I answered and even explained why. Why comment something negative for no reason?

Switch mainline titles can't be shown, but feel free to discuss your thoughts on performance with the Marios, DK, Zeldas etc 🍻
Thanks for the ideas! I'll be doing a live stream covering some of those tomorrow.
