@@xXbubbelXx Package lockboxes are one solution that can be installed, but they require a key for retrieval and said key has to be shared with parcel delivery companies. Another option is having the packages delivered elsewhere, such as your place of employment, an Amazon delivery site, P.O. box, or FedEx/UPS location. Most people don't bother though because ... we're lazy?
@@FalloutConspiracy most people don’t bother because it costs money, time, and you need to take transportation there which also takes money. You have to remember nearly half of Americans cant afford a $500 emergency expense.

hello friends yes it is true that a recent trend in America is people stealing packages off porches. I don't know why thieves are so brazen and reckless that they will steal postal deliveries in broad daylight off of front porches. I hate porch pirates.
It doesn't help that the people delivering the packages often leave them where they aren't supposed to. Amazon leaves all our stuff and our neighbors stuff by the mailboxes, usually in a puddle. They are instructed to put them on the porch, any porch, seriously it doesn't have to be the right porch... just not alone next to the road looking like they belong to no one.
@@adde9506 I am sorry to say that it is the package delivery service, such as FEdEx or UPS, that is to blame for putting your packages in a puddle or in a place by the side of the road where they are in danger of being run over. The expensive solution is to rent a storage locker at the closest UPS brick and mortar store. Your package stays inside a building away from the weather. Then you pick up the package and do the last little bit of the journey yourself instead of trusting the driver on the local route that includes your house.
@@gwillis01 Amazon delivers their own stuff. It's the gray amazon vans that do this. I've seen them. USPS, FedEx, and UPS all leave them on a porch, might be the wrong porch, but we're good with that. The problem is that the instructions are there, they are clear, and leaving a package in a puddle is just rude. The solution isn't to spend large amounts of money to make sure cheap purchases don't get ruined. The solution is to simply take my business elsewhere. Which I have done, even if my neighbors have not.
@@adde9506 If you have a problem with how Amazon delivers your packages, you could try their hub lockers for small enough packages. just go to the locker, pull up the delivery email on your phone, and show the barcode to the scanner. No risk of porch pirates and no additional charge. you may have to go get it yourself, but I think it's worth looking at.

With the wood be careful to make sure its coated well i have a desk that is live edge and the coating was absorbed into the wood a lot and so it can be damaged a little bit in certain spots. And when it gets too wet it likes to come off like erraser shavings
That beautiful waterfall and forest scene looks straight out of a ghibli movie
Rachel should be a voice actor
truly! there’s something about the way she finishes certain words that’s so satisfying. it’s so soothing
I love her tangents. She so darn cute
Better to make a podcast, I think :D
"the forest doesn't have a wow factor"
...me from a very dry part of Australia 😲
hahah same, that was my reaction when I first went to Japan. As an Australian I was like wow , I didn't know trees could be so green!
Oh, congratulations with being done with the house decisions! That must be such a weight off your minds!
I love how they speak Japanese, it's such a cool sounding language and I enjoy when they talk with it.
Rachel is correct. Porch piracy is definitely a problem here in the U.S.
Of course the thieves are to blame, but do you guys not have different delivery options to simply avoid the theft?
@@xXbubbelXx I have never heard of them and have new seen any different ones other than just the regular ol ….. mail slots and our front yard lol
@@Jaszzzzzzz Well, I don't mean those luxury boxes we see in the video. Never seen those "in the wild" either ^^
I saw you on my recommended and it was the best decision to subscribe
Ahh, thank you so much! :D
same!
Love your content these days! I can almost feel how happy the two of you are, and that somehow affects me, so thank you so much for making me happy, Rachel and Jun 😭❤
Your video is always so dreamy and calming. The music is fitting perfectly as well. Oh and I think Rachel looks healthier and healthier thorough the years. I wish happiness for you two.
The word youre looking for is Carpenter, a person who specializes in the wood working trade
You guys are so cute and underrated. You have four beautiful children and a lovely home. The best feature is that you have golden hearts. I wish nothing but the best for you and I'm excited for your future and your future videos ❤️
Their main channel is pretty famous and has been for years 😳
@@Nicole-zy4vb I refer to my cat as my son ;)
Seeing Rachel and Jun just out and about is my favorite!
I love this wood furniture man, he is so nice and his furniture is BEAUTIFUL
hello friends yes it is true that a recent trend in America is people stealing packages off porches.
Yeah...I live out in the country. We don't have any of the issues listed here. They even put a bag on our boxes if it's raining or might rain. :)
二人とも元気そうで嬉しい
Wow, the nature is so beautiful
I'm really excited for a cat house tour
''not wow enough'' ?!? for me it his a superb place, a piece of paradise! I've always prefer nature then city (I think you can guess by my name ;) the bridge at 6:52 !! love it! thanks to have bring us with you guys!!
Every time you guys post something I get so excited! 😂
I can't wait to see your house when it's done. I LOVE the newer styles of Japanese homes and WISH I could find one in America like that that I could afford. So happy for you guys. ^_^
Composite flooring is great. I have it on my balcony and it's super sturdy, comfortable to walk on, and doesn't wear down, lose its colour, or cause slivers. Highly recommend.
That snake is the literal embodiment of “doing their best” lmao
I loved the woodworker! He seemed so genuinely nice. And that wood is amazing, I'd have it all over the place, especially since you say it is locally sourced.
The is all so exciting!
"We're FINALLY done choosing things for our house!"
Last half of the video is about choosing things for the house. 😂
YAYYYY so happy you've finished your house decisions!! so excited to see the next process so so so happy for you guys
Omg the nature spot was so beautiful !! I also love both of your vibes and humor . I’m not a vlog type person but I love watching yours!
why does it look so beautiful everywhere in Japan
I love this house building updates, I'm sure the house will be gorgeous
My face lits up when i see the notifications from you guys😝🥰
Ahhhhh the more and more you two show the process building your new home, the more excited I get for you two to show off the home when its finally built. So much detail is going into this. It’s going to be so pretty!
I am so fascinated by Japanese woodworking! I plan on visiting Japan for my honeymoon, and my boyfriend and I like to go through Google Maps to try and figure out where we want to go. We were looking at Yakushima because of your video and there's an awesome woodworking shop that sent us down a rabbit hole (木のモノ雑貨店 if you wanna check it out!). There are just so many awesome places we're gonna need multiple trips :P
Missed your videos! When I saw Juns kitchen one n now this - I got so happy! Ty for making my day!💚
Wood decks and etc are high maintenance :( beware of mold! I’m aware of being able to oil the wood and stuff but still you’d have to do it regularly! The color of the wood might also change with time.
Thank you SO MUCH for finding out the names of all the little creatures (ok, bugs) you encountered. That just makes me so happy! :D
Me, during the park bit: "wow.... Wowowowow... Oh! Wow..."
Rachel: "It's not a touristy spot because it lacks the wow factor"
Me: ......
:')
and I love Vessi! Spent all last Canadian Winter in them, never needed boots once! I can't wait for the version they are working on with more grip in the soles!!
I guess it has a wow factor for me because I live in the AZ desert, lol.
woohoo!!! im so excited too see how beautiful the house will be. y'all put so much thought and care into your decisions so i know it will be amazing
i love rachel’s new haircut!! jun did such a good job.

It's okay Rachel, you can say Filet-o-Fish
Yes, but unbreaded filet-o-fish is a thing too.

I love the little spidey. And the small pools of water.
Big smiles to the credit to the small business artisan who worked with wood. I hope he has more business now since you mentioned him.
We love your videos!!! This was a very fun video :)
The mail boxes are so cool. I know in older homes some have a build in box that might have been used for milk delivery. There is a door on the outside and a door on the inside of the house. I think most have been turned into mail slots now.
