    With the smaller ATS now in the lineup, the 2014 Cadillac CTS is finally free to move up-market in size, power, and prestige. The all-new third-generation CTS showcases a lot of firsts for the Cadillac brand. The first twin-turbo engine, 8-speed transmission, and a plethora of luxury and technology makes this one of the best mid-size luxury sedans money can buy. If you want the best handling vehicle in the segment, look no further, your sport sedan has arrived.

      My wife has one since 16 we got used with 15k miles. Volume is no issue. Slide your finger or use the steering wheel. Her car has 65k now. I liked it so much I bought a v.

    I usually prefer German luxury sports sedans at this price bracket, but I gotta say I'm am mighty impressed with what Cadillac's done this time around. They've finally achieved a cohesive identity and pedigree that is essential in a tier I luxury brand, something the Japanese still haven't accomplished. As an American, cadillac's are now something I can be proud of. Go GM!

    General Motors must really enjoy shooting themselves in the foot. They have got to bring it to Europe and throw in a turbodiesel, not in 4-5 years, but NOW! I for one am tired of seeing the dull, generic, uninspiring and clinical designs of German cars and Jaguars are becoming just as common. I fell in love with the CTS the moment I laid my eyes on [a photo of] it. Bring it here now, please!
    A fair and balanced review of the car. Well done, Sofyan.

      Tarik El-Yabani John must not be either, because diesel is much more prominent than he leads on. We in the USA may not have such a strong eco-diesel car market as Europe, but full-size diesel trucks do run rampant...and they're thirsty...

    These cars were of one of the most beautiful cars I've ever seen back in 2013 & have aged extremely well over the years. My boss bought a lightly used 2019 CTS 2.0T last year which replaced his old 2004 Acura TL & he likes it a lot so far, but I would go for at least the V6 if I were to buy this car like in my current 2016 Lexus GS350 F-Sport for its much better sound.

    Outstanding review. Love the Vsport. I actually think that it's going to be a better balanced more fun car to drive than the Cts- V when it comes out. Unless Cadillac somehow manages to keep all the extra horsepower refined and under control the Cts-V is going to a brutal beast to drive. I hope I'm wrong.

    In terms of the CTS V-Sport, I've never really been a fan of Cadillac's exterior designs, but I absolutely love their interiors. I love the piano black finish of the center stack and the flow of the overall dashboard, however I wish they would do more to differentiate their vehicles in terms of an interior perspective.

    • @igeekone
      @igeekone 10 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Cars have years of development time. So components need to be ordered ahead of time so they arrive at the point of manufacturing on time. Thus, components are locked to a configuration.
      Today, most automakers don't give priority to the infotainment system because that's not the primary reason people buy a car. In the immediate future, car makers will hopefully make an effort to support always up-to-date infotainment systems. Apple's Carplay and Android Auto are helping towards this initiative.

    You know, I kinda want to see Cadillac let loose and let it's business hair down a bit. Do a commercial for the V series where the driver gets gets pulled over for speeding, the cop thinks it's a rich daddy kid but NOPE, it's a young looking business dude in his 30s the target age for Cadillac. Then the tag can be something about it making you feel young doesn't mean act young.

    People bash GM for the recent slue of recalls. I don't care when a company builds such awesome cars i could care less. GM well done I'm sure they will figure out this recall BS but apart from the cobalt recall they are all general recalls so idk why people are making such a big deal. Again awesome car well done GM

    • @IKhanNot
      @IKhanNot 10 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Tell that to the family members of the dead people. GM has taken your tax dollars (if you actually work and pay that), moved most of their manufacturing elsewhere in the world, have the most arrogant attitude when it comes to the execs and are now only making products that could compare to the old days and you stand by them? Had it not been for the stiff competition the Germans and Japanese are giving GM would never aim high and continue to make plastic crap. These cars are better now but that CUE sucks and all that shiny plastic will scratch, get finger printed and dusty quickly.

    • @matthebest018
      @matthebest018 10 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Djonkie Bonk You do understand that most automakers have deadly recalls but because GM got a bailout (BTW all 3 got one) they blew it up in to this big thing. If you would go actually sit in a GM vehicle you would see they are not even close to how bad you are stating them to be. And again on your high horse with insults just show who the bigger man is.

    • @randomocityvideos
      @randomocityvideos 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I find it quite irresponsible for GM to make such unreliable cars. Over 20 MILLION vehicles have been recalled, including all Camaros and even some brand new Corvette Stingrays. Whenever I drive by my local Chevy dealer there is always a huge line of cars waiting to be fixed and it's such a pathetic sight. Other than the Camaro and some other neglected vehicles I was beginning to be impressed by GM's improvements, but now I'll probably never buy or recommend a GM ever again. Such a shame.

    • @matthebest018
      @matthebest018 10 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      randomocityvideos How do you figure there unreliable. Listen all the recalls on the camaros covets etc are all regular recalls that should not of even been recalls. the only reason GM did this is to prove that they are not the way they were and will call recalls if necessary. if it was not for the cobalt they would of never been recalled because its for very stupid things. The new person they hired for quality control did this. The only recall that really counts is the one from the cobalt THATS IT. the rest is thing that every single other company does.

    • @DavidTheScientist
      @DavidTheScientist 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Power is nothing without decent / fun handling. Leasing a $70k 525d (UK spec), I can say that the dull steering really ruins the car, despite the fantastic TT diesel. I would not go for a 5-series again as a result... my old '90 325iS was FAR more fun to drive...

    • @Wolvesq
      @Wolvesq 10 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      If satisfying driving is your priority, the cts vsport clobbers the 550i, and it's not even close. And when you factor in incentives, the "street price" of the vsport can reach a solid $20k less than a decently optioned 550i. Buy BMW for luxury, Caddy for fun. The world is truly topsy turvy.

    • @DavidTheScientist
      @DavidTheScientist 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The funny thing is, the 5-series isn't particularly comfortable, either, without the comfort seats. I'm especially disappointed with its rear seat. The e39 5-series had a more comfortable rear seat, and more rear legroom, despite being a smaller car overall than the current one.

      I am very much satisfied, I like mine All Blacked Out.I have an STS the same. FYI those twin turbos assist in drinking gas. Almost like a V8. And, I'm not one to endorse danger, so be careful for yourself and others.
      But if you do so, do so at your own risk (enjoying every second of it). This freaking car will be doing 160, and can give you more. And you won't even realize your going that fast. The get up of the CTS Vsport is crazy. So tuned to 480-500 hp, this car would be stupid. Plus, I put the smoke on quite a few other luxury factory vehicles. But much like kissing and telling, I won't say names. Of course I'm not saying it's the fastest out there, but quick. The magnetic ride control, the safety and luxury features alone are great. Alot of other features that got overlooked in the 14' model year were included in the newer year models of CTS Vsport. Get one and enjoy.

    I can't imagine these cars getting old.. Like when this car becomes like 12 years old and when things start to break on it, its going to be impossible to fix.

      Oh no they haven't LOL. Please go drive a new 3 or 4 series. The electric assisted steering has good feel, it fooled me into thinking it was hydraulic. It us still a benchmark and the new M235i is already blowing everyone out the water, so just wait for the new m3/m4 to plant their feet.

    • @Magicstockton
      @Magicstockton 10 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      647killa Actually I did drive the new 335 the nissan maxima (290) has more horsepower. It's a nice car but 40-45k for 220hp? Yeah the drive is decent but the bang is gone.

    • @647killa
      @647killa 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Dnaovrimdan I don't think you know what you test drove. The 335 is a powerhouse with over 300 hp and torque. Its the Turbo Straight 6 engine. The engine you drove must've been the 328i which is the turbo four banger. My sources tell me that the Maxima is slower to 0-60 than the 328i and definitely the 335i. Both will dust it and I don't even want to go into detail as to why that 40-45k is worth everything over and above a Nissan Maxima. In Canada, we get the 320i as well, which is just a regular 4 cylinder, and If you talk about that then yes the Maxima will blow the doors off of it. The other two, no chance pal. Check your sources again please. The BMW trumps it in everything inside out. I repeat, BMW has NOT lost their way. Their shittiest cars feel like drivers cars when going around corners and just the solid feel is enough to convince anyone. Like I said, there's too many factors that make the BMW a better car in all aspects, and the price tag may be high, but its justified (somewhat lol).

    • @Magicstockton
      @Magicstockton 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      647killa I confused my numbers, you're right about the 300 horses. I don't test drive, I transport and valet. I was confusing the 328 and the 335 specs. The 328 puts out what 235-240. The 335 engine still is just as punchy as the Maxima, for 10k more I want more out of a BMW. The rear seating is poor. The completely removed the 3 coupe and made it the 4 series. I'll post a video of the car.

    • @647killa
      @647killa 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I hate discussing numbers. The manual bmw 328i is 5.6 sec from 0-60. That is about 0.2 sec faster than the Maxima. So no, the 335 isn't as punchy as the maxima, it will obliterate the Maxima. I understand your argument fir tiny rear seats. The bmw is at the end if the day a car focysed towards drivers. They have to keep their 50/50 weight distribution and handling dynamics, something that is irrelevant to a maxima buyer. so yes, the rear seats are crammed. The Maxima feels punchy bcz the bmw is more refined and its an autobahn cruiser, of course it won't feel fast and scream its head off. Its your money but I don't understand what 'more' of is it that you want out of the bmw, apart from better rear seats and a louder engine that 'feels' more punchy. Just for the record, I do test drive cars for fun and have driven many cars back to back. I own two e46's- m3 and 328i. Trust me, the only complain o have as a long time bmw owner is that their wonderful hydraulic steering is gone. That's really it.

    The CTS Vsport should have gotten the 6.2L naturally-aspirated LT1 V8 because it packs more power and torque, is lighter and more compact than the TT V6. Plus, some of us like the sound of a V8.

      oscar trujillo No you should not. Chrysler products are crap. Except for the Ram and Jeep line ups. The Chrysler 200 is just an augmented Dodge Stratus but I will commend it on style. Has style but no real content. Most Chrysler vehicles are all exactly the same. 1 engine equals many vehicles. Crap cars. Chrysler try harder. I even like some Fords and I'm a GM guy. If you want a Chrysler 200 review then go look at a review for a Dart.

    Unbelievable how Cadillac killed off this world class automobile for a less inspiring CT5 model which loses size/space & in my opinion styling! The greatest threat from Cadillac ever to the Germans & what does Caddy do? loosen their grip in hopes of what In particular I have no earthly idea! Loved the CTS-V & ATS-V series aggressiveness & visceral performance that outperformed the Germans & for thousands of dollars cheaper!

    CHANGE THE INFOTAINMENT. & the backup camera automatic breaking is amazing but it should stop the car a little further away. The backseat should be bigger. & these cars are cheap now. I'm on car GuRus right night and 2017 Cadillacs are like $23,000 .

    How does this compare to the xts? Also why does the cts base price codt more than the xts? And what class does the xts compete against?

    • @theredline
      @theredline  10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The XTS is for more of the traditional Cadillac buyer, it's based on the FWD Impala platform and is tuned to have a softer ride quality. It competes more with the Acura RLX, Lincoln MkS, and Lexus ES350.
