    I’m looking to floor a bit of my attic, so should I buy new joist and attach them to my existing joist then put the floorboards down ?

    Great videos. If I want to put a small office desk up there would running 89mm CLS perpendicular be strong enough? Thanks

      Should be ok if you use 400mm spacing for the cls..

    Hi Great vid. If you need to join 2 CLS timbers on a joist do you overlap them or can you butt them and add a brace?

      @MrBish11  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Overlap if possible, but I know what you mean, it's not always possible

      @@MrBish11 upon a closer inspection my original joists are very small and insulation is towering over them to raise my joists to almost meet my 270 insulation I'll need 140mm CLS sooo I'm considering heavy duty brackets? 🤔 I'll put 1 on each side we're there joists Cross over.

      Don't you have to fit loft legs here or can you get away without using them.

    Hi mate
    When you lay the CLS timber
    Do you need to attach the ends to the wall or anything?
    Or simply lay them across the top of the ones underneath?
    Thanks

    • @MrBish11
      @MrBish11  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, just lay them at 90 degree angles, don't attach to the walls.

      Hello, great video. Same question really. Are the new timbers solely supported by sitting on the existing joists? Are they not supported by anything else, like wall plates?
      Cheers John.
