I really appreciate your tip about cutting slits into the peppers so the vinegar enters and air escapes. Great tip - thanks!
I thought that was a good idea as well
Some commenters on here need to chill out lol. Lots snarky know-it-alls out there. Yes, you may do things differently, or think you know more about something, but just accept this is how the person in the video does things. It's ok to give suggestions and information, but please be nice in how you do it. Kindness is always in style. Stay classy! :-)
Some people were raised differently than you and I. Love your comment. Have a great day.❤️
Yes, It is funny what people will say on the internet but would never say to your face. I am going to make these! I think this is a great video!
@GlockWiseSB that was a year ago...maybe they were removed or just buried below new comments. Its been so long since I made the initial comment that I really can't remember what I read to make me want to comment my self. Oh well. :-)
"Le'me show ya how I......... DO IT!" that's my favorite (know it all) line from arrogant people....It goes right next to "Watch This!" which ends up being the last words uttered by 16 to 25 yr olds just be for the get killed doing something stupid....If they survive that phase then they move on to the "Le'me show you how I do it" phrase/phase.
You just can’t fix stupid, rude or know-it-alls 🥰🤗😻
Thanks dude! You grow a diverse mix of peppers, like I do and your videos don’t complicate a BJ. 2 thumbs up!
What a beautiful assortment in the jars!!! Great job!
I appreciate that you 'advocated' people researching CANNING in general thus knowing what they're doing before following anyone's 'recipes'. SAFETY FIRST!!!
Wow, those things are picture perfect. He's got it down on growing them the right way.
Thanks for the video we have tons of peppers in the garden and needed an easy canning video to preserve...just what we needed!
They, look so good. thanks for sharing. awesome video.
thanks.
Sure they look so beautiful! You must be proud of yourself!
You don't need to worry about sweet pepper being hot because they are close to habaneros and such. You will only discover potential cross pollination when growing out the seeds from pods affected. There will be no changes on the first fruit.
I was taught canning hot peppers from my grandmother-in-law.
I add garlic to the jars.
Processing in a hot water bath makes the peppers soggy.
Try this instead... Keep jars hot in boiling water - put peppers in the hottest tap water possible to bring up their temp - keep vinegar/water mixture boiling- keep lids in simmering water.
Do all these while canning 1 jar at a time!
You may want to get gloves as everything will be hot! (It doesn't bother me anymore)
Lids will seal with this method and you will get a crunchier hot pepper!
Lids are not simmered any longer, they changed how they make them.
@@getitright5863 When you don't process your jars, you'll want to heat up everything and keep it heated while completing the canning process
@@teestjulian The method you describe for caning the peppers does it apply to everything you want to can? Thanks.
If you add a 1/4 tsp Pickle Crisp, you won't have to worry about "soggy peppers"
@@bbll3729 pretty much. I've used a Betty Crocker cookbook for questions about canning, it has a whole section on proper canning methods. You can also contact your local County Extension office, they are a wealth of information too
They look really good. Thanks
Great pepper plants sir...im impressed.
looking good.. the jars and the garden
Really healthy looking plants and fruit. Great work.

I am so glad to see somebody else with very ripe jalapenos about the size of a habanero!
Nice looking jars! Love it. Cheers from Ohio
The music gives a nice tone to your video. Thank you so much for the tour.
Glad you enjoyed it
Hey great video, I read many tutorials online but this helped way more, nice step by step
Hey thanks for the video. One summer we planted 10 potting bags of ghost peppers and cherry tomatoes. OMW, we have dozens of pint jars canned by summers end. We found grow bags were the way to go.
Very,Inspiring... thanks.
Thanks for making this video, we are also in the Dallas County area and I'm researching different canning recipes as we are now getting loaded down with them and I need to preserve them somehow. You made this feel less intimidating for me. Peace & blessings!
great video will use this method thank you.
I think I'm gonna do exactly what you just did. appreciate the video. Thanks.
I like how you said to put slits in the peppers before canning and explaining why. I never thought of canning them whole, I’ve always sliced them. I hadn’t tried mixing my peppers either. It’s silly on my part, because I’ve canned jalapeños and sliced cucumbers in dill brine to make hot pickles. Since seeing your video, I’m going to mix my sweet and hot peppers whole. I’m hoping we will like them, because it will make canning them a lot easier! Great video! Thank you for sharing!
This video was very useful!🇫🇮
Tks for sharing this recipe tutorial with us
beautiful job!
Your peppers all look amazing
They look good
Brandon, enjoying your video. Love the background music. Appreciate you putting your knowledge out here for my use.
Thanks glad you enjoyed!

Wow! And I thought I grew a lot of pepper plants. Do you have a favorite pepper? Great video. Thanks for sharing this with us.

🍎🍎🍓🍏🍑🍊🍈🍋🍐🍍🍅🍅🌽🍆Great Job.
Thanks for sharing
My mouth is burning just watching you pick them LOL I never could do hot peppers. Looks like you had a great harvest.
Tim
very nice !!
Love them yum
Im about to doing this recipe tomorrow:)
Just what I wanted to see how it's done. Do more grow from the node where it's cut? I just bought a chilli plant which is already bearing fruit and it's all new to me, thanks.
Love it! Subbed!
I've canned for many years just never done peppers. I'd like to do some but add some non pepper veges as carrot sticks, green beans etc to absorb the flavor and add variety. Nice video. There is no need to heat lids, not needed for the past quarter century after they changed the old rubber seals to the newer compounds.
Never thought about adding carrots...that sounds good!
The recipe in the description is the only canning videos I like …. Just my preference
great tutorial
Thank you!
Those are things of beauty! I sometimes give jars of my pickled peppers as Christmas gifts -- no complaints so far, lol.
The music in this video is super nice
Thank you.
Yummy! Good job from the ground to the jar.
Freaking beautiful pile of peppers!
Cross pollination ONLY affects the seeds collected for next year's planting.
It does NOT affect the pepper plants that are in the ground.
The taste of peppers will not be affected. So don't worry about it.
@Dog.... Biologically not possible. Maybe you got cross pollinated seeds.
from Turkey hello your videos very good then like
Hi Brandon great videos I have been wanting a very simple recipe for canning my peppers thank you very much. The thing that I must ask is do you use plain salt or iodized salt? When I learn to can tomatoes my grandmother said no iodized salt has to be playing salt so I was just wondering thank you
so fun
Hey thank you for the video .
I am also new at this , and my question is how long before I can open them and start enjoying them?
I wait for 2 weeks but it depends on you.
I wait 2 to 4 weeks depending on what I've pickled
These are sooo pretty, but I think I would want to separate the mild peppers from the hot ones so they wouldn't all be hot. But that's just me. I like your brine recipe--simple and easy to remember!
Great job on canning.. you may want mention to wipe the jar tops before placing the wax lids on... other than that, GREAT JOB, and video.. thank you for your great video. thumbs up....
Hi Richard I always wondered why? Is it moisture? I’m assuming not bacteria since it is right out of boil?
Good Vid . My suggestions, wear gloves when working with peppers and I add some cloves of garlic to each jar. Also you should wrap your hot jars in some towels to slow the cooling and maximize your sealing.
I’ve used your brine recipe before and got rave reviews. (I don’t eat most of what I can so I’m going with comments from my trusty friends who eat everything!)
You make a great point about reading elsewhere for basic information about canning but because you’re showing your techniques as you go along I suggest you show how to wipe the rims before you add the lids. Also, tipping the jars to get rid of water on the top is a great way to loosen the seal over time. You can always lay a towel on top and gently pat the jars to absorb the water.
Ask me how I know 🙄🙄🙄
Otherwise I can’t thank you enough for this recipe and video!
my habarnero plants, the leaves are really really big, 2/3 the size of my palm. they fruit much later in the season compared to other hot pepper plants.
Should the peppers be cooked a little before hand? When I tried this, the peppers had a grassy taste to them. Or, and quite likely, I may have done something wrong. Thank you for the VDO, it was fun to watch!
Nice looking pepper harvest. One question though an older video....can u truly count that a small slit will let enough air escape? How’d they turn out?
Yep, just a little slide will let the air escape.
Thank you for sharing nice video. I always wonder to know how to eat that. Is there have nice way to eat??
I was wondering how these peppers turn out in terms of crispness? Some people I've seen pickling peppers don't water bath them. Are the peppers crisp with your method?
cool bro
Will the peppers be crispy or soft? And can you add garlic and onions?
the nice thing about pepper plant they almost grow prolifically as weeds
Great video! beautiful peppers!
Sound like funeral music for the peppers tho... 😵
Yes, I think I do have one plant Ghost Pepper (Bhut Jolokia). Not sure which one at this point. Need to do a better job with labeling
For information purposes. Cross pollinating only affects the seeds of a plant. So the possible changes in heat or size or shape are only with the peppers grown from the seeds of the cross pollinated peppers. The cross pollinated peppers will keep the normal characteristics that they had when grown .
Yum yum yum from nc
Just followed this exact recipe/method...just curious when these will be ready to eat. Video doesn't say if you can eat them right away or if they need sit for a couple of weeks or ?
I noticed you didn't use pressure cooking bath. You did it differently. I liked that. How long will they last in the pantry. Thank you for sharing ♡
Canning roasted bell peppers have lemon juice in there liquid , would you still have to use lemon juice if they were hot peppers?
So if you want sweet peppers add just sweet peppers or one hot one per jar for some heat. Well done video.
Did not see you wipe lids and jar lip before putting them on? Will it seal proper.
How long do you need to let them sit in the jar before you can eat them? Great video too
