Water Chestnut Brothers is one of the coolest things this game ever added! Oh my God, it's so creative and polished, especially considering the Chinese version has a bunch of bad models

No it's just a bug There are oversights like that everywhere in the chinese version One programmer was tasked with flagging a certain group of plants as "orchestra" plants and he included Ghost Pepper by accident, and no one in the team was paid enough to double check the list.

That weird Excavator interaction seems to be the same bug that he used to experience when his arm was blown off by Coconut Cannon in older versions of the international version, so maybe it's still there since they're running on an older version (evidenced by Basics having 270 HP instead of 190 and the Coal Miner from Steam Ages being unable to have multiple layers of armor).

Shadow Vanilla is really damn cool, I wish it was in the international version. A plant that can lower the defense of zombies is super unique, and I can see it fitting right in with the rest of the Conceal-Mint family.

The worts is that it is the first time that they do something like this, years ago the made the players choose between some ideas 4 a new world, the winner was the underwater world, but in the end they decide to do instead the 2° most wanted world (Heiga Age) with the argument of making an underwater world would be 2 hard.

When i first saw Elaeocarpus pult, i was so excited, "This design is awesome! Hopefully they will have a fun ability" just for it to be yet another AKEE clone.
if i had to make its ability more unique, i'd make it so that the projectile it launches comes back to it, so it keeps hitting the projectile back to the zombie over and over till the zombie dies the projectile would deal more damage for each hit it does to the zombie, and the damage goes back to its base value when the plant hits a new zombie
Whoever designed White Egret Flower Fighter Plane bust have really loved that retro sound, this is evidenced by how much you will be hearing it each time you use the plant.
water chestnut bros are probably one of my favorite plants featured yet. They're complex and interesting without being too buggy or completely broken, and they look really good.
Fun fact: The ability of the water Chestnut brothers is based on the sport "curling" in which the players slide a curling stone on a sheet of ice hence referencing about how they're shaped like a curling stone and has a chance to create an ice trail.
I personally found the duo chestnut and shadow vanilla very interesting. If one is a cool concept that could redefine strategies, the other one is a plant that could already be included in vanilla and international versions. Good plants !
Fannilia and shadow vanilla being the same plant design wise, but having completely different functionality is very odd, and I can see how people were confused. Edit: Shadow fannila having a completely different pfood effect when unpowered is very cool, and I would love to see that mechanic on nightshade, seeing as it is the shadow plant that changes the most when powered.

I have to wonder if White Egret Flower Fighter Plane's projectiles are a Top Gun reference ("Too close for missiles, switching to guns"). If so, how the heck did they get away with that in China? You could even argue that the plant looks a bit like an F-14 with the twin rudders and swept-back wings.
I kinda fell bad for the winner of creation concept, they literally changed the design to an already existing plant just so that they wont work on creating the design. That is just lazy.

Why did the PVZ wiki change all of the names of the Chinese plants? They used to be translated into the English version of the puns that normal PVZ plants have, and now all of their names are extremely literal. Any idea why they did this?
It’s not the PvZ wiki’s job to localize the names, so i think it makes sense to have literal translations over adding new puns. IMO if like a mod added these plants, it would be fair game to add a new punny name, but not a wiki.
I just hope we start getting some china stuff in the international just have them remake it I think we may get more for the 10 year anniversary or some worlds in general make some seed plants to world ones but also I think more can be added once 3 releases as more can go to 2 well I hope 2 will still be updated as it seems 3 is more casual and 2 can make more money with plant levels and all

god elaeocarpus-pult doesn't seem like a very good plant at all but it's so fucking cute i can't help but love it
