    Hey youll probably never see this, but how do you keep everything in focus so easily? I have a 6d mark 2 with a nifty fifty. For the most part they do great. There are some times when it will randomly decide to re-focus though and cucks my shot. Im not doing paid gigs for that sole reason, i have no idea how to keep it from some day ruining a special moment cause it decides to randomly re-adjust the focus.

    • @GillyGill
      @GillyGill  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Using a 50mm prime is going to be tough for autofocus especially wide open. If you had a nice follow focus attached you might be able to pull it off manually focusing. But maybe try investing in a 16-35mm f2.8 and you'll see an incredible improvement! It's very pricey but I promise this will be your new favorite piece of glass for a long time! here's a link to that lens: amzn.to/2LkhvtF

    For my monitor I use an Atomos Shogun Inferno, I would also like to center mount the mounter on my ronin-s, however I with my Articulating Arm from Smallrig it's never stable, like the ball joints can't handle the monitor weight. Any suggestions?

    • @GillyGill
      @GillyGill  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sarah Florian So I would look into an A arm that has the teeth in between the ball joints. They won’t slip at all once you tighten the clamp. The only slip you might get is the 1/4” thread mount but if you use pliers to snug that up you might be set! I know Ikan makes teeth in there, dm me on twitter and I’ll send you a amazon link. @gilroyvlogs

    Hi I don’t know if anyone could help me with this. But it’s going to be my son 19th birthday this month and I wanted to get him a smart watch
    My son has a iPhone 8plus now I know the best watch for it would be a Apple Watch but does anyone know if any of the Garmin Smart watches r any good with the iPhone. Or any other smart watches. I would be very grateful for any help thank u :)

    • @GillyGill
      @GillyGill  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Garmin watches connect to the iPhone through Bluetooth much like the Apple Watch and can be managed by the Garmin connect app.. either choice is a good one just depends on preference.. I will say the Garmin watches are generally tougher than the Apple watches as far as how much abuse they can take.. and since it’s for a kid, I’d go with the Garmin watch for longevity 👍🏼

      Appreciate your opinion bro but there’s an application for use of different frame rates... everything doesn’t have to be cinematic. You know daytime television “soaps” are shot in 60 without slowing down..

    • @spincity850
      @spincity850 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Gilly Gill sorry bud there’s no way you will be about to convince anyone with half a brain haha. Your shooting at a high frame rate, the sole purpose for that is to be able to conform that to regular speed eg 24/25. I appriciate your clearly not professional shooters but you should really try to learn how to shoot correctly with the right frame rate for the right scenario and be open to realising your wrong in this instance

    • @GillyGill
      @GillyGill  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Spin City I’ll be honest, I have been shooting in 60 for a long time for the vlogs, just in the instance I need to slow down my B roll.. but as of the past few months my sequence settings are in 24p. I don’t disagree that the standard is and should be 24 but I think you should consider helping educate people the right way instead of saying what’s wrong with these people... that’s a terrible mindset

      Gilly Gill I would definitely be open to what you’ve suggested but I would strongly advise you to not be so narrow minded as if you do any logical research. You’ll find out that HFR is only for HFR purposes. Until then chap, best of luck with your channel.

      Gilly Gill maybe speak to a few professional DPs regarding what I’ve said and see if you get some conflicting views for your bizarre methodology regarding your filming process.
