They were BAAAAAAAAD back in the day.
What a handsome and talented man. May he REST IN PARADISE.
who died
You know you have POWER when you can tell Don Cornelius that we want to sing LIVE on Soul Train..Long Live the Isleys!
People dont realize, remember or know that from 1971-1976 multiple times each season multiple acts performed LIVE ON SOUL TRAIN !!
THIS IS NOT AS UNUSUAL AS PEOPLE THINK.
James Brown did 2 live shows.
Al Green did 2 live shows.
Smokey Robinson with Jeffrey Osborne on drums was live.
Sly and the Family Stone,,Tower of Power when Lenny Williams sung lead was live.
The Average White Band.
Plus many more.
The last few years of the 1970s an occasional act would perform live but after the episode featuring BARRY WHITE,LOVE UNLIMITED, LOVE UNLIMITED ORCHESTRA (mid 1970s) there were only a few .
The Pointer Sisters and Aretha Franklin sung live over prerecorded tracks as did a few others like Harold Melvin and The Blue Notes featuring Teddy Pendergrass with Sharon Paige..
Be cool
@@1970sBestMusic The Ojays performed live too but most were not live, just top acts.
Well it was mostly top acts on the show@@deacon8754
@@1970sBestMusiclet's not forget Marvin!
@@1970sBestMusic Ike and Tina performed live as well.

HAPPY 81ST BIRTHDAY
RUDOLPH ISLEY
(APRIL 1, 2020)
Rudolph was smooth as butter baby
And they did that live!
No BS!
Ernie Isley on guitar, Marvin Isley on bass, Chris Jasper on keys and George Moreland on drums. There's 100% Jimi Hendrix influence in Ernie's guitar playing, and an ultra-funky groove from Chris on the clavinet (the same keyboard that Stevie Wonder used on many of his most famous songs). The Isley Brothers were so talented (although best known as a guitarist, Ernie is actually a multi-instrumentalist, and also plays drums, percussion instruments and bass, and on the original studio version of this song, the drumming/percussion track was overdubbed by Ernie Isley).
Ernie Isley influenedHendrix!
I was looking for a second guitar player then realized that funky 16th note thing is Chris Jasper. Awesome!
@@kevinellsworth9318 Heck NO!!!
Absolutely!!
jammin this in 2023
I always like the two backup singer brothers who look like factory workers who happened to luck out into the music industry. Like, they were gonna enjoy every damn moment because working at the ford plant was not the move.
LOL! Couldn't really sing and DEFINITELY couldn't dance! LOL!
Why hasn't there been a movie made on the Isley Brothers?????
why isn't there any live footage of them from the 70's-80's aside from Soul Train!?!?
I really wish there was!
They need to make one!
Thank you ... The Isley Brothers .. when life was soulful !!!
THESE GUYS KNOW HOW TO JAM.
I saw The Isley Bros. In concert in 1978. 🎸 It was at The Forum in Inglewood. They were INCREDIBLY❗My favorite band of all time. 🎼

R.I.P Rudolph Isley 😢
OMG, I was just thinking who is that on the drums! Bless you sweetheart, I’d like to hear about his and your stories. Let’s work on connecting.
that's called killin it.
Love it!
How is it that jimi Hendrix achieved God-like status but not brother Ernie? SMH...
Jimmie played (White) Rock n Roll especially in the UK. Bro. Ernie played Soul Rock. But it's a shame.
Ernie is so very underrated it's a crime.
Jimi caught pure hell, just like all Black Guitarist. Blackpeople invented Rock and Roll
#SoulTrain
So hard to pick an #IsleyBrothers fave, but I’ll say Harvest for the World.... 💜💜
My favorite Album... Ain’t I been good to you #2 best song

Taco meat Saturday!!
Wow...more noisy blue "pop-up banners" interrupting the groove. At least cut the info-noise so its just the music being heard. Thank you.
