Rudolph and Ronald co-founded the Isley Brothers with their late brother, O’Kelly, in 1954 and Rudolph’s suit claimed that “at all times” the band operated as a “common-law partnership,” sharing expenses, profits, and control of the band’s business. Even as the band’s lineup grew and expanded, the lawsuit claimed, the group “remained an equal partnership under the sole ownership, direction and control of its founding members.”

This is so sad, and beyond anything else, it cuts so deep and hurts so bad, I know because I have been through it myself. I love Ronnie Isley's beautiful silk-smooth voice, however, it seems his ways are silky-slick, and that ain't cool. I don't know what his motives were, but I hope he talked to his brother and all was well with them before he took his last breath. Ronnie should have thought first that maybe his brothers all wanted to pass on their royalties and legacy to their children and grandchildren. It seems that they all earned it; they all built that group...The group was built by the Isley Brothers, not just Ronnie. I hope the family can heal for the children's sake. He has an adorable son.

Condolences to the isley family of Rudolph. I think Ron was greedy, bankrupt of something, not necessarily money and selfish, but I still admire the man he appears to have become. I hope he will now give his brother's family their fair share. He seems to be a spiritual man and God don't like ugly. I agree with the other comment that enough with the A.I. Many didn't KNOW Chris could SING until Isley Jasper Isley. Don't know WHY to this DAY he didn't lead some songs on the Isley Brothers 70'and 80's albums, other than he was NOT an Isley BROTHER. With the right producer and agent, he would have been a LOT more successful as a solo artist.

It's possible that Ron owed him money but Ron Isley was the one in the forefront doing all the work both before and after Rudolph retired. It was his voice that sold millions of records .No disrespect to Rudolph Isley, a deal is a deal and he deserved what money was due to him but, I would rather know how much he expected. Maybe Ron should have renamed the group "The Isleys" to protect his assets.
It doesn't matter that he was in the forefront, they were all part of the group. The others were musicians in the band, and sung those lush background arrangements. Ron didn't play a single instrument. They wouldn't have developed that signature sound without all of them, and he wouldn't have been able to do it without them!
Whatever his reasons for taking money from his siblings they were wrong. He's wrong to do his fam like that. i still dig their music but def have less respect for him. They will always be one of my fav bands!
