I'm 62 years old and this live performance is why today's music doesn't impress me! Today's artist don't even sweat on stage like the artists back in the day!
The Spinners are inducted to the 2023 Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. Phillipe Wynne, Bobby Smith, Purvis Jackson, Billy Henderson, God bless your souls and Henry Fambrough known as the The Spinners are inducted to the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame! To the friends, fans and family of the Spinners, congratulations 🎊 🎊🎊🌟🌟🌟❤️❤️🙏🏾🙏🏾!!! AND IT'S ABOUT DAMN TIME!! 'Nuff said!
A bit too late since 99% of the members have passed on. How ridiculous for the voting members of the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame to wait soooooo long, shame on them!!!
Dang, why cant we have music like this anymore...that crap today is horrible...thank goodness for vinyl and cds..great music lives on forever as long as we have that..💿🎶
If you watch closely, the Spinners are so hype that as they're dancing, it's shaking the whole stage platform and making the microphones wobble back and forth, but they're so smooth the microphones never fall over!
Phillipe Wynne was a master vocalist,...adlib King...church vibe ...disconnect...he made Stevie Wonder move on one live TV performance !!! What a loss...RIP !!
Phillipe. The master! Not the original lead but he’s the one that truly gave the group their edge and that slew of hits on Atlantic. His ad-libs were just sublime. A rare gift. I saw this exact lineup (the classic, hit making lineup) in my hometown Birmingham, UK in the late 70s. Enthralling. A definite threat to The Temptations for many years. GREAT POSTING! Thanks for sharing this clip. 👍🏻
I got to see the spinners live about 2O times from 73 to 82- the show was amazing. I was also in the dressing room pre and post. I was 11 at my first show. In the front row. A lucky kids who has inside access through my fathers partnership with the Late Thom Bell. ❤
R.I.P to those of the Spinners who went on to the upper room upstairs and heaven with God all things are possible for those lost member's Will be missed very much
I honestly think this is one of those jams that is better than the studio version. Music and singing are superb quality and crisp despite it being a live outdoor experience
The Spinners' studio recordings are just prototype sketches. The live bands under the direction of Maurice King were next-level. And yes, the audio quality here is excellent.
Philippi had so much energy , he don’t want to builded up and not let down you got it. Nice to know You know you got dig in your pocket .He really put a hurting on that song
"Would you build me up Baby, never let me down, naw!” That Philippe Wynne! I can't help but smile & laugh when the spirit gets into his voice and his feet! Makes me forget all my troubles.
I'm here after watching the New Edition Tribute. These cats had that energy!! I was familiar withthe hits but this was slightly before my time But i can dig it!!! Spinners All Day!!!
look at those Africans loving on the Spinners....., One of A Kind was the first of three singles that I bought when I was ten years old. I have never seen them live before. This was a real treat....,
He was not classically handsome but he wasn’t not unattractive either none of the Spinners were unattractive but his talent made up a lot for his looks
Thats what it's all about.Loving good music and promoting good music. Making personal remarks about people that paved the way for artists today doesn't achieve anything.
@Kit kat Happy Holidays to you and yours! Greetings from Memphis! You're looking good over there; and I dedicate this beautiful song to you! Cheers!🌹✌🏽😉
Those African women were wearing the same colors I guess they were a part of the show. It’s 50 years later plus and I’m still mesmerized by the dance moves From this group
The ultra smooth baritone Henry Fambrough - the last living member of classic 70s lineup of The Spinners --has retired from active performing. Just a few weeks shy of his 85th birthday, Fambrough has stepped aside from active performing, and is taking a well-deserved rest after decades of constant touring. The Spinners, lead singers Philippe Wynne (who replaced G.C. Cameron who was still with a solo contract with Motown) and Bobby Smith garnered the most attention. But the handlebar moustached Henry Fambrough seemed to always be the one called up to deliver the smoothest of the soul ballads that the group released, including such fan favorites as “I Don’t Want To Lose You” (his personal favorite), “Just As Long As We Have Love,” and “Ghetto Child.” Wynne left for an unsuccessful solo career (before sadly dying in 1984), and the group had a second run of fame with dance producer Michael Zager and lead singer John Edwards, landing in the top 10 with covers of “Working My Way Back To You” and “Cupid.”
WOW WOW WOW !!! I can NOT find any other words to describe the butterflies that I get NOR that lump in my throat that makes me speechless when I watch them perform or when I listen to the MIGHTY MIGHTY SPINNERS!
Wow .... Philly Soul at it's best! For those who don't know the Spinners started in Detroit and had 1 or 2 hits. They then moved to Philly to record with the great song writers there in the 1970s. They then went on to knockout many smooth soul type hit after hit. In this video it looks like they must have been around 100 degrees with those suits on yet they put on one heck of a performance. I really hope that AC has improved over the years in Zaire.
November 3, 2023: The Spinners (and others) will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. (finally!) Congratulations to the only surviving member: Henry Fambrough. (on our left)

A bit too late since 99% of the members have passed on. How ridiculous for the voting members of the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame to wait soooooo long, shame on them!!!
I love this band so much. In a bad mood. They'll get you right out and have you dancing in no time. A door to the past when music was great!
2:16 his choreography about the "Lame man Walk --- Blind man talkin bout seein' again" is off the CHAIN
YES !!!!
Off the chain, and out of frame.
Phillipe was a master in that time , in his state of mine could not be touched.
Someone needs to post more live Spinners videos.....PLZ!!

everything belongs to the time that it is born into....., revel in your own time......, that's what I do.....,
The Spinners deserve The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame.
They got it! We knew they were so worthy!🎉❤🎉
@@mrxsanmanx about time. I think only one original member is still alive.
Better late than ever. It restores my faith in that place.
Agreed.
O ok but I definitely thought they were inducted in the hall of Fame🙄🙋🏾💗🎤🕺🏾
IM SO HAPPY I GOT TO SEE THEM IN THE 70'S!!!!!
@francisclause4668-You saw some great stuff!
Most under appreciated bands ever
Totally agree love them
Even with one og member today they are still amazing!! Not to be missed at an Indian reservation near you.
No they are not dumb comment
Beautiful black African women dancing!!! I wish they showed more of them!!!
Yesirrrrr!🍻✌🏽😂
Like real black women and not the Kardashians
If you watch closely, the Spinners are so hype that as they're dancing, it's shaking the whole stage platform and making the microphones wobble back and forth, but they're so smooth the microphones never fall over!
The incredible Phillipe Wynne, i glad I'm old enough to experience his talent
What a great soul group, Phillipe Wynne's voice is amazing.
This was one of the baddest groups of all times and should be in the RRHOF. It's a damn shame...
Inducted 2024
Phillipe Wynne was a master vocalist,...adlib King...church vibe ...disconnect...he made Stevie Wonder move on one live TV performance !!! What a loss...RIP !!
Yeah would always take us to church & put the stank on every song🙏🏾❤️💋
Always loved Philippe's voice and energy, Bobby's voice as well.
They were called the "twin voices" because they sounded similar. Check it Out! Ciao!!!
Beautiful playing off of each other's beautiful talented vocals.
ENERGY??? WHAT THE HELL IS ENERGY???
Hits you deep down in your soul.
Now that was excellent

I love watching Bobby perform, you can tell he's having a good time❤
He was such a nice man
Me too...Bobbie loved it RIP
Bobby and Henry were the best dancers in the group.
He was great too. Brings tears.
For sure - his eyes told the story of how much passion he had
RIP Bobble Smith and Philippe Wynne

I really envy you. I'm sorry I never saw the Spinners live nor got a chance to meet any of them.
This is l was an teenager. The Spinners were ahead of their time in music, dance and artistry. I love the Spinners!!!❤❤❤❤❤
R.I.P to those of the Spinners who went on to the upper room upstairs and heaven with God all things are possible for those lost member's Will be missed very much
Maaaaan! This is what performing and entertaining looks like! They put it down.
It's supposed to be it's live performance u don't compare a recording to live performance what a dumb comment
In my lifetime I have heard this song 87,464 times. Well, that's an exaggeration. It's really only been 62,457 times.
Nothing compares to these beautiful Men of true music....
So much talent and showmanship! Love the spinners.
I can't get this out of my head
Gotta love entertainers who sound just as good (or better) live!
Compare vocal legends to a bs excuse me a bts group , how can we do that ?
February 2024: Henry Fambrough the last surviving original member of The Spinners, in the UK Detroit Spinners has died aged 85.

look at those Africans loving on the Spinners....., One of A Kind was the first of three singles that I bought when I was ten years old. I have never seen them live before. This was a real treat....,
Philippé Wynne was so handsome and talented, it’s so tragic that he died so young.
He could sing -but not good looking -u need to put on his glasses!!
He died doing what he loved
He was not classically handsome but he wasn’t not unattractive either none of the Spinners were unattractive but his talent made up a lot for his looks

They changed line ups often but this is my favorite.
They sound JUST LIKE on the record!!

Sad it's only one of them still living 😪
The spinners are the great entertainers. "MAGNIFICENT"
Simplesmente maravilhoso!
Just brilliant - smooth voices and great lyrics
🏩
If the Spinners are not in the Rock and Roll HALL of Fame there shouldn't be one. Whoever decides who is in is doing injustice to music.
Awesome!
November 3, 2023: The Spinners (and others) will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. (finally!) Congratulations to the only surviving member: Henry Fambrough. (on our left)
Way overdue for all of them to be inducted into Rock n Roll hall of Fame❤❤❤❤❤

The spinners were #1 back in the day and now also .

Never gets old👍🏾👊🏾
Dang they're sweating bullets out there under those lights lol.
And still their dancing & singing are right on!
Great dance steps
They look like the country of Zaire had no air conditioning. One song and they're drenched.
What a great group.
