To the person reading this, Good Luck! Don't stress, everything will be fine. No matter what difficulty you are facing right now, you can overcome it! You are strong and brave.
No, they did it wrong. It was not professional that first announced it to the band and let the band play for it. Whatever they gonna do, you don't bring out. James Brown and then the band coming to do a song that aint how it works. Anybody that's professional would know that. Today they messed.I hope they don't do it that way.No more. It was so unprofessional
The great Jeff Watkins the world's best saxophonist .... Just absolutely incredible what a guy 🎷 And James Brown, there will never be another quite like him 🙏
I still regret to this day never having seen him live in concert. I met Billy Cobham, years ago and he said playing with James was an amazing experience. When I asked him why he left, he said because I could not afford working for him anymore. The fines added up according to Billy.
If it was perfection, they would have brought it on more dynamic instead of brilliant change.Saying James Brown name, I didn't love a sentence. This band stop playing a song that wasn't right long as i've been singing that wasn't right
I was told that my great grandmother had the opportunity to see this man live, and that she said that was best concert she’s ever been to in her life! RIP to my great-g’ma and JB 🕊️
I worked as the local promoter’s production head for James’ show back in 2005. The vibe was just amazing. It’s nuts. The intro and outro is just so dramatic. He did not just walk off the stage but rather put on a ‘dramatic’ show that he was reluctant to leave. Danny is quite a character too. When chatting with him it reminded me of watching Fat Albert & the Cosby Kids. I believe he also handles James’ wardrobe. Sad that a great legendary performer is no longer with us.
07-04-2024, I keep listening to James Brown. From time to time, when I need to feel adrenaline I watch a concert by the master of funk, to continue knowing what RHYTHM is, the rhythm of funk, which for me is the best.
This was incredible! Hard to imagine he passed away two years later, in 2006. I wish I could have been there, what an awesome concert. Glad we still have all this material to watch and listen to.

The reason for 2 drummers and 2 bass players is for longevity...in other words sometimes James can go very long 10-20 min on a single at times the drummer, bass that are standing by ready to jump in on the song when they get tired without missing a beat that way the song can go on💯 and there are signals they have between them for that purpose... the 2 guitar players is nothing unusual 1 plays lead and the other does the rhythm and they both have the ability to play each other's parts at the drop of a dime
We had a rare opportunity to watch this brilliant soul band led by the Great James Brown. He was a great perfectionist, and demanded the same from his musicians, he literally trained them like soldiers, and his band was one of the best ever. And that's why we have this great music and incredibly professional performances! Watch how you need to perform, people! Listen to real music! Enjoy the energy of the Great Composer and his unsurpassed musicians! It WON'T HAPPEN again! God bless each of them, rest in peace James, thank you for this gift for us!!❤
such an incredible timeless soul performance. I will still play and watch it in the next century and after. I hope one day, TH-cam will decide to no more interrupt such shows with irritating ads every 5 minutes that are being played at twice the volume. Ciao from Italy and cheers
In The Hague, there were two large stages where artists performed one after another. Even during the setup of the concert, the audience was already waiting for Mister Brown. Personally, I expected to see an old man, but nothing could have been further from the truth: the energy, the musical perfection. One of the best concerts I've ever seen.
Came here after watching another concert by an "old" funk band that sounded old and tired. Not James Brown!! As long as he was alive, he kept his band super tight and HOT! Thank you so much for posting. I was lucky to see him live at Tahoe in the 1990s- one of the best concerts ever. 🥰

really regret never seeing this LEGEND. I mean you can watch videos from 50+ years ago..this man came out a LEGEND..lol..Funk from head to toe..rip ICON!
This was concert was so great!! Some artists joined the stage. I was there…. in that time I took my camera with professional film. I shot amazing pictures during this concert!! It was my first and only time I saw James Brown on stage!! Miss him! What a power. Bedankt voor het delen!!
Oh yeah, it is so power that’s God the queen is back and we move it right rock ‘n’ roll and country. Now we got the James Brown power. Oh yeah, let’s go.
You got to understand the concept and delivery. The focus was not on the band but Brown. You had some talented musicians in that band, Jeff Watkins was one of those after Maceo Parker left the band. Pee Wee left, Clyde, Fred Wesley all left and Bootsy Collins and his brother Catfish. When all those left, the sound was different.
He change it up some. A mans world. I like it when he sings it the original way and a band plays it more soul full with the funk mixed it. Here it was good but a little dragging to me. My opinion but everyone knows James brown is king of soul and funk mix. I seen James Brown several times in concert and its always a great show. With his age he has cut back on some of those crazy dance moves which are not easy to do while singing and performing.
Yeah he stopped doing the splits in the 80's and was still very fast moving in the 90's but the freestyling crazy days of the 60's and 70's were not there as much. Maybe in a few short moments in shows but on the whole he slowed down, understandbly when you think of all the shows he did and amount of crazy dance moves. But you never knew which dance moves he would do on any show, even he probaly didn't because up to the end he was still very insinstice and great at freestyling moves. We were very lucky to see him still dancing and doing moves into his 70's all things considered.
@xplaybwoix 100%. These great performances yes if you have seen them it's a blessing. Micheal Jackson, Ray Charles, Prince, Aretha Franklin, James Brown and the list continue. I have seen a majority of them. It's very few I have not seen.
@@xplaybwoixHe was still doing splits quite consistently into the 80s, he just stopped because of the prison sentence where he didn't have reason to keep doing them.
@KrisNicholsonPianist Yeah apparently according to people in his band he was doing the splits as late as 2006. From my understanding the only split filmed after 1987 was at the Apollo in 1995 but the footage has never surfaced.
