    DJI would kill their gimbal lineup if they were to produce such a great solution.
    Especially if it had 4k 60fps.

      They win both ways - first if you sell your camera and buy a 'X6' second if you don't because you like your camera and just want a gimbal.

      They are stupid. If they had a Osmo which could carry Zenmuse X7 of Inspire, that would have killed not only their gimble line up, but also the entire world's rest of the DSLR and Gimble line up. Like Apple iPhone they could have become the only giant selling this only one Camera

    I just bought this in 2023 TODAY!
    Prior to this ALL of my experience using cameras has been on UAVs. Lately I’ve been shooting a lot of ground footage to mix in with the aerial video. I was pretty much lost when trying to decide which 4K camera and gimbal setup to use. THEN I remembered that DJI made something for a camera system very similar to the one I have on my Inspire 2. Thanks for such a great review I’m stoked to get it in!

    Alternative option I use is just getting a bag that fits your mirrorless mounted on gimbal without having to break down gear while transporting. Fuji xt3 16mm f1.4 + weebill s + peak design messenger works fine for me without having to break down

    I fully agree with your idea of move fast, move light, always be prepared to get the shot that has unfolded before your eyes. This is why I challenge myself to make content with only iPhone, Hero 8 and MA. They all fit in my backpack or pockets and I'm always ready. You are truly one of my main inspirations and if I was only able to copy you in content style for the rest of my life I would be satisfied . . . but I know you would want me to grow beyond that!

We have the dji osmo 1 and i use it all the time for cinematic movements, te footage can be reuse to many things. I love dji for personal and work, thank you for pointing this out dude! wow, I watched this video a year ago and really agree with all points. I run the a7iii with Ronin SC and it is a solid pain to swap between my lenses. Id love to hear your thoughts on the all new Ronin 4d. It is the camera you perfectly described/wished for at the end of this video lol. DJI had it in the works after all it seems. Cheers!

    The osmo pro was and is still a great tool. I never understood why DJI didn’t keep developing this product. Oh boy, how many times did I write them to keep working on something like a osmo pro 2 with the x7 😭
    I still use it. Just like the inspire1. Productions companies are absolutely ok with the image quality.
    No problems with battery life if you use the inspire1 batteries. And because I bought it in combination with the inspire1, it didn’t cost me all too much. Just bought the osmo handle and the x5 adapter and I had my osmo pro for 300 bucks.
    And the best thing: the osmo handle can be used in so many ways. You can put the x3 on it, the x5 making it the osmo pro, you can get the phone adapter to make it an osmo mobile or even put a GoPro on it with another adapter. It such a work horse. The osmo with the x5 is light enough to put it on the wiral lite... oh DJI 😭🙈 shame for stopping this product

    • @mixchifius
      @mixchifius 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The inspire 2 houses the camera brains in its fuselage, making an Osmo would require a bulky not nearly as portable package, yes it would be awesome and about as close to a full frame camera as you can get, but I don't think it is very practical. There have been a few people that have taken crashed Inspire 2s that have working camera and brains, creating a X7 Osmo, it is pretty large, but impressive

    • @mrCarStyling
      @mrCarStyling 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      This I neither understood. I'm actually angry of that, that DJI doesn't gave us any option to attach the X7. And even X5 HAD before a Slow Mo option, as I know, been deleted after.

  • @madhumediafilms
    @madhumediafilms 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    I’m all about simplicity myself- I find the ronin SC with a light mirrorless camera to be an extremely mobile and sorta lightweight setup while achieving that full frame cinematic results (I use the Sony A7riii with ronin SC)

    • @meysambabaei5760
      @meysambabaei5760 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well said. In terms of color grading also, nothing will replace a good setup( a good camera and a stabilizer). Even if it is rather heavier and harder to use, the outcome will totally rub your shoulders and say: its over man. Now you have a beautiful footage to edit😉

    • @waynosfotos
      @waynosfotos 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also how is the out of camera colours, i have a Mavic air and i hate grading this as the colours are so off for a number of things, the only thing that looks good is foliage. Is this the same accross their range with this x5?

      Battery performance is not that bad, you can attach a follow focus to it. I don't understand why everyone is so obsessed with auto focus. plan your shots or use a higher f stop. and low light i agree not the greatest but still useable. it's an incredible camera set up, maybe not for amateurs.

    I can’t tell you how close I’ve come sell my Osmo Pro w/ Zenmuse X5....when I bought it I was looking for a camera that could a lot of things great and I was right. It does a ton of things great like shooting pretty decently in lowlight (better than a ton of DSLR’s for sure), captures really crisp 4K, stabilized 4K, and has a very easy (although could be better) microSD system, can be mounted to the side of my car or anywhere really (with attachment) and can upload footage to my DaVinci Resolve Studio at home or my Lumafusion app on my iPad. This camera is a perfect B Roll camera bc the motor is ssssooooooo loud and takes me forever to erase in post, but that’s the only downside I can tell really. I think this video has changed my mind. I still have the original Osmo and like its form factor. Especially after adding the Z-axis arm...it is fantastic.

    x5 Looks really nice, but unfortunately it's a very narrow market.
    Having a camera and a dedicated gimbal for b-rolls is still a more versatile option for most users.
    Osmo pocket is much more consumer-friendly, yet they seem to discontinue it as well due to low sales.

    Yes, agree with you. Maybe and hopefully DJI will increase the battery performance. It's still and always be my option to get a great footage and the light weight gimbal

    I used to shoot with the X5 and yes it was such an easy fast solution for music video production, now with the ronin s it takes 20% more time to set everything up during a shoot plus a real workout!!! DJI need to bring it back with all the updates possible

    some remarks
    - a full frame sensor would require bigger lenses, thus heavier - thus becoming the problem you wanted to prevent
    - a full frame camera would require at least a body the size of the sigma FP
    - an updated gh5s sensor could help in terms of framerates, low light, and very little for autofocus, but I'm not sure you could provide all that processing power in a small package like this, as it would also need a large heatsink to prevent it from overheating
    - the product was a niche product, that NOT that many people owned and with a quite steep price for an MFT sensor (2 grand at the time without the handle if i can remember - might be more) and at the time it was also the most expensive MFT sensor camera. Most people who had one used them in combo with their inspire x1.
    - what lens mount would be used?
    your idea is good, - if it wasn't for the fact that it would be technically near impossible to achieve, and if it would cost, easily over 4 grand
    DJI rather pumps out toys that makes millions of sales...

      Not necessarily, the gimbal is the body. The sensor is likely the only thing that needs to be housed within the gimbal, meaning, they could make it much smaller than the FP which is a self contained unit.

    I still have and use the original DJI Osmo. I’d love to buy the X5 head, and use that. DJI should really consider producing a full-frame Osmo. I’d buy it immediately!!

    I just got one to go with my Refurbed Inspire 1 v2... I paired it with the Olympus 12mm f2. 🤔Now you’re making me want to look for an Osmo to attach it to.

    You nailed it bro. This wishful thinking would have been my perfect camera. DJI, please put all your resources in making the next OSMO! Be creative, be original, innovate and don't be a copy cat to other camera companies.
