We went over to Copenhagen to watch these guys play all of Ennio Morricone's famous filmscores live in the very same venue in August. It was an amazing and memorable experience! We gave them a ten minute standing ovation for this particular piece of music. Spine tinglingly good!

Yes a great concert. I have just been to the Raiders of the Symphony (treasure hunter movies, big focus on Indiana Jones). They told there were some issues finding the right notes for some of the Indiana Jones melodies. So they wrote to John Williams himself and he sent his own handwritten notes! He had also seen their videos and was very much impressed and found them super cool!

D, I'm guessing that you haven't seen the movie to which this theme belongs, since you don't know the meaning of the hanging man over the orchestra. It is an integral part of the plot of the movie. I strongly recommend that you see the movie; it is one of the greatest westerns ever made. The beautiful second piece, which began with the piano solo, is a tune within the movie titled "Ecstacy of Gold," and is heard at the climax of the movie. I love your reviews and have subbed; keep up the good work.

This was 1 song of an evening of music used in the Sergio Leone movies. The hanging guy was merely a prop, to add to the atmosphere. Once upon a time in the West and A Few Dollars More, also done that evening, are also worth your time, as well.
I've felt dumb, when i first saw this video and realised all those movie scores i adore are done by these remarkable musicians, and not only that but even live..... Also kudos for the camera crew, the director who showed where happens what, so we can experience this marvel.

I love this arrangement of the movie score. Having an orchestra capable of making such performances in such a small country makes me happy being from Denmark. I would have **loved** to be there at this performance. It is world class music. Yes, I do not forget Ennio Morricone who composed this wonderful piece. As far as I know, that disturbing image is from a scene in the film. Oh, yes, I am pretty sure it was a dummy or a cardboard cut-out. I also like the lovely camera work they do here. The DR1 (and National) Symphony Orchestra is the Danish equivalent to the English BBC1 Symphony Orchestra, so it's top-quality public service, and if you make a deeper dive you will also find that they have the same kind of high production standards to make children like this kind of symphony orchestra music for educational purpose to "nurture" their development.
Have watched GBU & the other spaghetti westerns countless times. My wife always knows exactly which one I'm watching by those great, distinctive Ennio Morricone themes.

Everything by this orchestra is amazing and there's a lot on here to see. The hanging man is just a theme from the movies as hanging wasn't so much justice dispensed as it was pretty much a sport back then. Tuva Semmingsen (Wah Wah) is a Norwegian soprano and she too is also amazing, please listen to "Bang Bang" and look close she's wearing guns for earrings...Christine Nonbo Andersen also amazing, the skill required for all this is beyond belief, one single note out of place and the entire piece is shattered, it's mind boggling to see what a group of dedicated people can do together, one no more or less important than another, astonishing.

Oh, I think John Ford did an excellent job of producing and directing fantastic westerns long before Sergio Leone came along. Sergio is just very lucky that Clint Eastwood was available to act in his western trilogy, and Eastwood was also lucky that Leone made the trilogy and wanted him to star in it, since it made him a worldwide acting phenomenon at the time. Ennio Morricone scoring the movies, much like John Williams, was just icing on the cake.

Oh, I think John Ford did an excellent job of producing and directing fantastic westerns long before Sergio Leone came along. Sergio is just very lucky that Clint Eastwood was available to act in his western trilogy, and Eastwood was also lucky that Leone made the trilogy and wanted him to star in it, since it made him a worldwide acting phenomenon at the time.
