Well that was very enjoyable as I ate my salmon dinner. I love brown furniture and have filled my cottage with it here in Wales. Am going to head to M&S to get those cotton shirts. Look forward to Sunday already.
I always like to go to a charity shop. Well, I am from Singapore, where people in my country don't really prefer to buy items used by others or sell second-hand items. However, I am a very old soul, and I like antiques w; when I came to the UK for my PhD, I was always inspired by how English people preserved those antique pieces. It is simply timeless. Thank you for yet another vlog; it's simply awesome. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Hi Ash and Chad lovely vlog! Love it when you’re both together so funny Chad makes me laugh as do you! Nothing like humour 😂 I love “At Home with the Rudds” I go in there quite often and I prefer Burford garden centre to Daylesford!……the artwork in Burford is lovely and their furniture (I love rustic) Cotswolds would suit you both great consideration maybe 🤔 wow the price of that Hotel and your both quite right you should have value for money or I would feel cheated money is hard earned cash! A few things to welcome you should be in that room like Chad said fresh flowers! Chocs something it makes you feel welcome! I don’t live too far from any of the places you went might bump into you one day lol 😂 have a great weekend 🩵🩵
As a guy who has lived most of his life in Phoenix (the Baghdad of the West), I always love to see the Cotswolds in TH-cam videos. I didn't know they had such great stores, too! Sigh. I can only dream. Maybe if I hurry up and die, I can be reincarnated there before the prices get too beyond reach.
Thank you for a lovely trip and calming video. I can’t travel right now as my 1918 home in the US needs a lot of pricey work, so this is the next best thing. Chad is so right about value for money, something that Paddington himself prized. I’m used to expensive city prices as I live in one, but you have to back it up.
😊😊you are right, the garden centre is wonderful.Hearing your comments on things(was in total agreement)Your vlogs are a breath of fresh air.Thank-you Ash and Chad❤❤
I really enjoyed that I was whisked off with all that beautiful music going round the Cotswolds I was in another world😊 I thought the hotel looked stunning like you said but the amount they charged was certainly overpriced, I’m glad you said about that, like you say your paying for the Cotswold name so they can charge more , but can’t wait for Sunday looking forward to the the haul of items you purchased have a great weekend too thanks for sharing 🙏🏻☺️👌
I love Burford Garden Centre... always drop in when I pay a visit to my friends in the Cotswolds. I always buy something (they are not always expensive) and could honestly spend all day there wandering around. They also sell the most delicious pastries. Yum... I'm hungry now :D
I appreciate your honesty regarding hotel!… it’s true though either you get a room for £200 which is basic or a bit more but still not getting the luxury… instead it will be £1000 and seriously who can afford this?… well some people can I guess but agreed it’s nuts! Loving the chat with the two of you!☺️☺️
Haha, I’m from Chipping Norton (born and bred) so this should be fun 😅 🧡💚. Growing up in the 70s nobody really knew much about The Cotswolds….it was in the 80s really that suddenly all these newcomers starting arriving and pushing house prices up. And that in turn makes everything else expensive! I live near Bath now and could never afford to go back to ‘Chippy’. Sad really.
Ash and Chad, thank you for this very enjoyable video. I also love antigue hunting, so it is great watching someone else explore as well. As an American, I believe the Cotswolds are the most beautiful villages; so I enjoyed this tour very much. Looking forward to seeing Sunday's reveal of all your purchases. You have the most exquisite taste and sense of style. All the best from New York City, Robert.
That was just lovely, Ash. Great to see all the antiques and gosh what a variety of quality - and prices! So, so pleased you included Burford. I discovered it 3 years ago and never seen anything like it before or since. Thank you! 😀😀
Not going to lie-I’m very fortunate to live in the Cotswolds (10 mins from Burford) and was hoping you’d go to station mill antiques. By far, one of my most favourite antique shops. So much of our house is furnished from there 😂 Tara antiques is also brilliant Really enjoyed watching you wander round places I know and love so well
At 13:28 in your video there is a corner cabinet with some very nice blue and white chinese vases. You should go back and check the bases underneath the vases and purchase any of the older ones. They could be quite valuable and really do enhance any decor. Unfortunately very hard to get here in Canada but seems that you have more choice for quality Asian art in England.
That helicopter, looked like they were drinking and flying LOL My first video of yours guys. Agree happy to pay for the quality & service and you'd expect extras like you say flowers, chocolate, I suspect its priced for the American market. I suggest checking out the seasons. You may have been caught in peak US season there. Off peak might be more reasonable. Thankyou that was lovely, have subscribed see you next Sunday, Jane from Australia
Fab video guys Chad was right for that price I would be looking my 3 course meal in on that price lol but i am Irish 😅 the youtuber Josie has two beautiful cottages in the cotswolds called treetop cottage she has them through airbnb they are beautifuly decorated and you can bring the dog ❤
Thank you so much! I think it’s normal to expect a 3 course meal for that price 😂 I love Josie and Charlie’s cottages, will definitely have to book one soon!
I have to say Burford Garden Centre is an amazing place to visit. The quality and the choice is exceptional. If you're looking for something a little bit different it is the place to go. They also have a clothing section for men and women....so good.
Love the Cotswold's and actually live there but never been to any of the antique places shown or even the garden centers .. A few on my list now so thank you and yes the Cotswold's are definitely overpriced for most things . I am actually shocked at the standard of hotels of UK in general .. we need to up the game here for sure ! thanks for a great Vlog 🙂
I was kind of surprised at some of the antique shops prices, eye watering. The Cotswolds looked amazing.Goodbye London, incredible views in Cotswolds!535 a night they better bath and feed me!Love channel, just started watching!Hello Connecticut USA
I appreciate the effort you are making to create enjoyable vlogs. You can reduce the up and down motion when walking and vlogging - show him how it is done Chad 😉😆🤣
Thanks so much for sharing your antique adventure . Agree wholeheartedly you should get your pound or dollars worth for purchases and services. Love your choice of music as well. Please share.
I agree that if you are paying top price one should get good value for money! I love the Cotswolds but always stay in Cheltenham. And drive in to the Cotswolds for shopping and eating. 😊
An epic adventure. Loved the music in this vlog. I am excited for the haul! Have you and Chad considered doing a Road Trip in France video, now that he is no longer elusive?! 👍. Thank you for this video! The hotel cost far too much!
Oh gosh, my parents and brother live in Mickleton. I’m an absolute pro at finding stuff in Barn Antiques but Mickleton Antiques centre used to be totally awful, I’d heard it had changed hands in the last couple of years and will definitely be walking down there (so amusing that’s where the pavement ends for the village, you can’t walk along the road any further than that) and having a look in future. Btw Pages Farm shop pretty much next door does the best bacon I’ve ever had. & I feel you about maxing out at Burford Garden Centre! I love going to that place so much, but always go with an empty credit card! See you down the Kings Arms some time.
Ash, new subscriber! I stumbled upon one of your videos and ended watching a couple in a row. I love the easy candid nature of your videos, keep them coming! Do you plan to do a holiday decorating one soon?
Hi Ash and Chad , have you ever tried Tetbury ( inside the Cotswold District in Gloucestershire ) for Antiques as its well known for its huge array Antiques and curated shops .
Any single available friends with the same or similar style , taste , enjoyment of visiting garden shops and antique stores , and likes taking trips to great places to visit historic sites , house museums , etc. ? 😆 If so , introduce them to us in a vid please . It's rather hard out here to meet good people with similar interests . I really enjoy your videos . And Chad is adorable and endearing to listen to .
I highly recommend staying at the Strawtop cottage in Aderbury Owned by Charlie Irons and wifeJosie Fear Irons fellow TH-cam influencers! That would be sensational to see that vlog ! Charlie is a Home decoration success!
Lovely video - some corrections. It’s called Burford Garden Company, not Centre, that’s so naff lol, if anyone is looking for it online. Your hotel isn’t Georgian, it’s 17th century, Carolinian, 100 years earlier, with updates through the ages. Stratford upon Avon isn’t in the Cotswolds. The Cotswolds or Cotswold Hills are a limestone escarpment running north east from nearby Bath. You can tell you’ve entered or left the Cotswolds by the colour of the historic stone buildings.
Have you thought about the auction houses, far cheaper, often better quality and a wider choice and you can view on viewing days and then leave bids or even bid online live on auction days. There’s a lot of them around. Even in London. Some of those rummage places are exhausting and often overpriced and some of the stuff is just part of house clearance. Not often great quality. Auction houses also have guide prices and we’ve often left offers below that and still won the items. It’s how we furnished our whole house once. I think you would both love the experience. And Chad likes a deal. It’s a great fun experience too, you get to see so much stuff in one place. We stayed in Stow on the Wold, a while back, it was quite a posh Hotel for a special occasion. But we were invited as guests and weren’t paying. Hope it wasn’t that outrageous price, scared to look? Poor chad, I totally agree with him, hope he’s recovered? That Garden centre did look lovely.
Nice to see in a recent video that you have leveled out the picture in the lower right of the picture group in your front lounge. I was annoying me, such is life. Best wishes from Australia
You do not look like a drowned rat at all. I think if chad is rude, cutting and sarcastic to you on camera I dread to think what he’s like off 26:47 camera! I’ve watched loads of your vids, you are so lovely Ash yet chad is quiet cutting to you often! Hope he is not always this rude!
Sadly hotels in The Slaughters are priced for the visitors to the UK on do the Cotswolds UK tour. There are some lovely hotels who charge for far less if you get off the tourist trap.
Loved the video. I just can't get over the fact that they put all the expensive antique furniture on top of each other and on the ground 💀 zero care for it. I felt it in my gut😂
It’s the Cotswold & it’s very beautiful & because it’s famous & a choice place to head to hotels take advantage of these situations & know that they can get the price they command. That’s how it works in these place & people pay those prices so they don’t care about the budget conscious travellers. That’s the way the world over. It sucks but hey no one care really. Selfishness & Greed abound.
£500 for a night lol 💸 that’s why I never travel anywhere in the UK cos it always feels like a rip off. Add up the cost of hotel, train, meals you’re just better off taking a plane to anywhere in Europe….
please stop swinging the camera by so fast (just in some places - feeling dizzy) and could you please say the prices out loud as I cannot read the tags! Thanks so much. I will try to watch you next time! Best Wishes!

Baghdad of the West is so foul but real 💀
😊😊the music you put with the garden film in the hotel was a triumph.I liked Chads summary of the hotel..clear,concise and wise

Simply love your videos of all that is elegant and timeless. Wonderful music. Subscribed. My best wishes from Ireland
Thanks and welcome! So glad you enjoy the videos 🥰
You both have great style. The hotel is Jacobean , 17th century . Outrageously priced for very little. Chad is obviously spot on. Love the music.
Chad is so funny . Brilliant mooch around. Love the Cardinal painting definitely go back & buy it I say. 😂😂
😂 I might have to go back!
Brilliant idea

Such fun shopping with you both. Lovely items to see.
I live near Woodstock and Burford Garden Co is my go to place for plants, it’s beautiful isn’t it. Thanks for taking us around with you.
Thanks for highlighting the Cotswolds. Lots of undiscovered places to explore

Would love to go to Burfords and Daylsford. The shops on Broadway look good as well.
Classic chad! Shuffles in and steals the scene like a young dame maggie smith with his 'Chad's Verdict' on the negroni! So funny
Rather great comparison . 👏 😆👍
I love this video! Thank you for showing this New Yorker the peaceful Cotswolds! Can’t wait for the next video!

I’m from New York and we stayed at Stow-on-the-Wold in 2012 but didn’t go antiquing.
The lords of the manor hotel is a beautiful hotel and use it frequently. Upper slaughter is stunning.
An slower video of what is actually in the stores would be nice 🤗
See you Sunday.

I'm currently renting in Stratford-upon-Avon but will be moving to the Cotswolds in 6 months. I will have to visit these places at some point.
You have to! You could smash all of these out in a few hours!
@@ashmazzinaThe Barn is literally opposite the place I used to live. I used to go to the little cafe there.
Ouch that's a lot. Here in the states that would be about 3 nights. Now if in New York or L.A. that's about there costs. Lovely scenery.

If you sold your terrace house you could buy a detached gorgeous house in Scotland in somewhere like Edinburgh which is stunning. 🙂
Thanks guys, but crazy prices for a hotel

So what was the final consensus on the Bishop in Red?
The helicopter has a thermal camera and all sorts of others to spot problems with cables. They fly around every 6 months or so.

Great tours and advice. That hotel’s room rates are ridiculous.
