I went to Bibury with a couple of friends from London. One swore it was pronounced "Bibbery" the other insisted it was pronounced "Bye Bury." :)
Love the Cotswold - we were there last year - a girls trip
my parents are British born Canadians so have been to England multiple times mostly to Suffolk area. I remember yrs ago driving from Bath to Stratford upon Avon but we must have by-passed the Cotswolds...so bummed now that we didn't tour the area..it is gorgeous...Enjoyed this video so much. Now I have to do another trip to UK😄

I grew up in the Cotswolds and this really takes me back. Don't worry about mispronouncing names - they are rarely pronounced how they're spelled.
I really tried 😂 Steve was so good about helping us try to learn when we were there. I wish I would have edited this closer to the trip last fall 🤦🏻♀️❤️

If you've not been ... I highly recommend on one of your trips to England to visit Coventry. The cathedral is a transcendent place. On the night of 14th November 1940, the city of Coventry was devastated by bombs dropped by the Luftwaffe. Hit directly by several incendiary bombs, the Cathedral burned with the city.
The Ruins are the remains of a medieval parish church, consecrated to be the Cathedral of the new Diocese of Coventry just 22 years earlier, in 1918. The ruins exist adjacent to the new part of the Cathedral. Just walking the grounds and exploring the ruins was a pretty spiritual experience and speaks to the resiliency of the English people and their regard for history of their country.
Thank you for making my home town sound so wonderful .Born and bred in Coventry and have lived here my whole life and I guess after all these years I don't see it as special anymore ,it's just home lol
It would be great if you could do a video (or section of one) on how to return home with all your vintage purchases. I’m going overseas in May and would love to know what to bring for packaging etc in anticipation of buying some vintage treasures.

Burton on the Water!!! Loved staying there! Was my favorite by far in the Cotswolds, because the river running thru it was what gave it the best charm!

I feel the same about old cemetaries, they pull me in to explore. I go walking in them, so peaceful and lush. Great history in Cotswolds.

Thanks for the memory with the bank. So Laura, you never broke into a Penny Bank? If there's a will there's a way. I would never break a bank to get the money out either. When I was a young child my Mother would put duck tape over the stopper on the bottom of the bank to try to detoure me from taking my money out. Well, that didn't work. So, if I wanted to get money out to buy penny candy at the neighborhood corner store I held the bank upside down and I would take a butter knife and shimmy the knife into the slot and shake the bank and wala coins would drop out. That's when 5 cents would get you 5 pieces of candy. It was a great time to be a kids growing up in the 60's. To this day I still have my 65 year old penny bank I received when I was born. What a wonderful trip you & your husband took. I picture myself through you walking around the land and visiting all the wonderful places & looking at all the beautiful scenery and of course all those great shops. Thank You for sharing Laura! Your pasty reminded me of my first trip to England. I would take all my time at stops taking photos…then run in last minute to grab a meat pie from a bakery to eat on the bus to the next stop! Too much to see and photograph to take time for a sit-down meal!
The dog and the woman you found in Italy I think , each you pictured as a necklace …I keep magazine pictures and came across the dog AS a necklace 🤩you have a great eye and mind!

I just learned you can buy large batches of matches with strike pads to stick on the bottom of any vessel. So cool
I love seeing what you pick up here in the U.K! I loved the little striped pot, recently on Etsy I bought some stick on match strikes to make little pots into match holders- perfect for that pot.

Ahhhh I loved that wooden cup! My Garndpa did wood working and made all kinds of bowls and cups! When both my grandparents passed away my grandmother’s son gave all his stuff away cuz he did not like my grandpa 😢
I loved seeing all of the iconic and beautiful scenery in the Cotswolds. My favorites were seeing where Tolkien was inspired to write, Burton on the Water and that last gorgeous bonus visit! Thank you so very much for taking us all along!

Who doesn't love the Cotswolds? But unfortunately they are not in Kent as Laura mentioned when buying the artwork (which is on the south east from London to the coast) they are north west and extend to the Welsh border. I can recommend going to Canterbury in Kent, not as expensive as posh Cotswolds! 😊
I didn’t mean they were in Kent, but that the artist was from Kent (local as in England where I was 😆).
She just meant local to Kent I think, as the label says. And yes she would love the old towns and villages there.
Wow! What an amazing video. Loved every second of it. The villages look so lovely and you put the footage together so perfectly mixing the antiquing with the touring. Loved the music too! A joy to watch. I literally gasped when I saw the Fratelli vase. Gorgeous!

I love the Cotswolds. I remember several of these scenes. Currently still on our month long trip in Argentina and Chile having another wonderful time. Amazing countries.
Don't know if you're still looking for vintage hardware for your home but saw in some of you videos you were. Here in Evansville, IN there is a shop called Salvage Candy and they have all kinds of vintage. Older doors, windows (the string and weight kind) , hardware for doors and winds, fireplace mantels, cast iron railings and even outdoor "Little Italy" sets. Just an FYI. If you do get down here there is a shop located on Washington Ave also (can't remember the name) but it is right next to Heritage Federal Savings Bank and he has all kinds of things, some old some not so old. Lots of furniture also
