- Hint: It's not the same reason 10 Luigis are stored in the Smash Attack Minigame Room, but it is related...
I've already posted a few uncommentated videos on the Lil'-Oink farm in the past, but they desperately needed updates complete with an explanation. Here, we cover the percent chance of obtaining each Lil'-Oink type, the items you can receive, glitches that can make you some decent money off the farm, and finally, why 10 invisible blue toads are stuck wandering in the pen.
The Lil'-Oink percentages were provided by Jdaster64. Various other guides were written for Paper Mario's items back in the day, but those perecentages are speculation. These are according to the game's read-only memory! :)
Many people have discovered these Lil'-Oink farm clips, so it's difficult to attribute credit to a single person. To my knowledge though, I was the only person that knew about Bow's invisibility inside the pen... as if that counts for anything lol
The invisible blue toads though - those were discovered by MovMarioPaper. Him and Rain helped me hack their visibility for the purpose of this video.

I love the Lil-Oinks. They're so cute but using them is kind of a waste if you don't use a glitch to break into the pen without scattering them.
The strange irony of it all being that, with the glitch, Lil Oinks are actually a fun and worth-while little gamble for the player. If Nintendo didn't decide to make the Oinks flee, they'd be perf.
They were right next to the Jump Attack and Hammer game, too. Nintendo really wanted to discourage gambling, it seems.

The first time I clicked on a video it's because I didn't register there was a basic ass Paper Mario, for some reason I thought The Thousand Year Door was first in the series (and the one I've played through the most). Still want to play this one, I even HAVE a working N64, but... prices.

God I loved the Lil' Oink pen. First time playing through I only touched it about once or twice, saw no instand benefit, and thus ignored it for the rest of the game's content. Most other playthroughs where I touched the area basically amounted to me grabbing an Oink or two when passing through but never going over ten because I either didn't wanna spend all my cash on seemingly nothing, or didn't feel the need or desire to erase my little dudes, not even when I bothered to learn what getting over 10 actually did for me. Still, loved my little oinks and will never get over the very first Gold I happened to get. :)

The Lil Oinks were one of my favorite things in Pape, when younger, I'd farm off enemies for hours on end just to see what Oinks I could get, but I never hat 10 of them in a cage together because I always hoped that if I entered, I could pet one.

Usually they stick with NPCs that already exist in the room (which is why the 10 Luigis was so strange to me lol). No need to use objects that don't normally occupy space in the room when they're just going to be invisible :)

Jammin' Jellies and Ultra 'Shrooms can be rarely dropped by an Amazee Dayzee, according to the Super Mario Wiki, though I tested it for several hours with the best item dropped being Maple Syrup.

Yeah! I wasn't expecting another Stryder video for a while since the HLL video came out. I hope you keep showing off fun little stuff, even if they aren't anything crazy. I love hearing you gush about the components of these games.
This reminds me of how a lot of objects are moved around in Sims 2, specifically the RC car.
It's simply an invisible NPC sim that's spawned in the moment someone starts playing with the RC car, and this invisible sim basically just controls the car randomly around the room, quite like these toads.
It's even possible through corruptions and glitches to *play* as this NPC, who has incomplete data, as the game treats it as an *object* rather than a sim, leading to quite serious game corruption.

So, I have a Paper Mario story from my childhood that I'm not sure actually happened, or if it was just some kind fabricated memory.
I was at the 2nd to last Bowser fight. I beat him, level up, and win. I've already maxed all of my stats... so the game softlocks since I cannot choose a stat to level up. As a consequence, I had to replay the entire game to finish it, as I would level up every time I beat Bowser.
I do know that if you manage to level up at max stats the game does soft lock. But I also know enemies aren't supposed to give XP at max level. So is it even possible to level up past max level without a cheating device?
I could have *swore* this happened to me but I have yet to actually find any evidence that it could have.
Try doing it over again. Max out your stats before the Bowser fight and see what happens.
Who knows, maybe you weren't making it up.

The most logical explanation is that you had both a HP Plus and FP Plus badge equipped, which put both your HP and FP at 50 points. This would explain why you still earned star points because you were not yet max level, likely level 25 (max being 27) but why you stats appeared to be maxed out.
On the Level Up screen, you won't be able to upgrade HP or FP if they are at or above 50. The solution would have been to un-equip your stat boosting badges to let the level up progress appropriately.
This is why I sub. You constantly produce good content and keep it up.

I really hope that the recent reveal of the Thousand Year Door Remake stirs Stryder again. I love his videos and it saddens me we haven't seen a new one in 3 years
Wasn't there a secret bonus if all the L'il-Oinks (with a hyphen because Goombario's Tattle is like an Encyclopedia and that has more validity than NPC dialogue or the place's sign... I think) were Gold or something?? Maybe I remember wrong. I feel like this is an underrated aspect of the original Paper Mario. There's no reason to have these L'il-Oinks (except for extra Recipes materials as you mention) but it was so darn cute back in my childhood... felt so sad when they are run away :'(
The odds of getting 10 Gold L'il Oinks in a row are .03^10, which gives a 5.9049e-14 percent chance of it happening; that's a 0.00000000000005904 percent chance. I doubt that there's an easter egg for it.
@@hoodedman6579 Well, you could just reset every time you dont get a golden, then save every time you do get one and get all 10 like that. But yeah, theres nothing that happens if you get all 10 golden.
